  1. Aggressive, violent styling themes definitely seem to be the main direction in the last decade or so, beginning w/ the HUMMERs.
  2. Model Roundup lists them as 'late June'...I've preordered one of each, hopefully get them before my birthday (June 28th)
  3. Kaiser on bottom, and a Chevy Express van on top
  4. Maybe it's a generation of younger designers raised on Transformers and Gundam that inspires the angry robot styling..
  5. My next door neighbor has one of these...and he fits the description..a total obnoxious bleep-bleep..
  6. The new 200s are even nicer..they've gone for a small grille and small lights..
  7. The worst are the predator grilles on Lexuses, IMO.. Audi seems to have started it by making their grilles bigger and bigger over the last decade and everyone else followed along.. Everything from high end luxury models down to mass market cars like Corollas and Camrys seem to be going for the angry robot look now. Bigger badges also, not just trucks with their oversized logos, but the average car grille badge seems larger now than they did 10-15 years ago.
  8. I like that gold '68 Torino GT coupe...
  9. There are a number--maybe 1/2 dozen--that only drive the 500 and not the rest of the season, as it is every year.
  10. Last 10 laps were incredible..great finish to the 99th 500. 2 races down for the day, time to break for lunch and chill before the NASCAR race...
  11. I would definitely be interested in one of each.
  12. Looking forward to watching it..I went to the 100th anniversary one in '11, and plan to go to the 100th race next year. Tomorrow's going to be a good day for motorsports on TV...Monaco GP, then Indy, then the Charlotte 600..got to stock up on snacks.
  13. That was what one of the articles I saw said..I really doubt if it will be that light, maybe 3300-3500lbs. But they are going from the full size Zeta platform to the compact Alpha platform.... The ATS coupe w/ the 2.0 is approx. 3500, and the Camaro sounds like it will be about the same size...3500lbs is pretty light by today's standards..
  14. Gen 6 is supposed to weigh around 3000lbs w/ the 4...the ATS (same Alpha platform) w/ the 2.0 turbo is a decent performer..
  15. Yeah, over 30 years ago...I don't think the F-body 4cyl version lasted the whole 3rd gen run...they must not have been high production, not sure if I've seen one since the 80s. The 6th gen 4 will be the 275hp 2.0 turbo I've read, GM's been putting this engine in quite a few models across the range from Chevys to Cadillacs...
  16. Kind of a big scale for a train.. too bad some 20th century trains haven't been kitted in 1/25th..one of the 30s streamliners or GM trains would be neat for a diorama..
  17. Welcome...lots of Zonies on here..
  18. That sedan rear window kind of looks like a 50s windshield of some sort..
  19. Salt corrosion..happens in the rust belt. Back in the '80s my brother had a $50 '73 Ford LTD Brougham and it's rear axle fell off while driving. The mounts rusted off. That was a month after the radiator fell out..
  20. Could have been rusted out underneath and the axle fell off... As far as not stopping, it didn't look like an injury accident, the guy can call AAA (or Canadian equivalent if it was Canada) himself to get a tow...
  21. The IMC is from the failed effort a couple years ago to issue this and the Johan 75 Cutlass. Nothing to do with the old IMC .
  22. Means Snap-Tite to the Max. Like Max Power, more awesome than a regular Snap-Tite
