  1. Actually, I referring to my own interest in 1/24th (and other scales) as compared to older modelers that seem more rigidly stuck to 1/25th scale..younger modelers seem to be more open minded about scales.
  2. It could be a generational thing, but I never really was hung up on the scale..as a kid in the early '80s I was building 1/25th AMT, MPC, and Johan kits and also plenty of 1/24th Monogram kits, then later Tamiya kits... 1/24th has long been the world standard, 1/25th seems to be a US-company thing only..
  3. I think I want to do a '69 stepside..with the basic white bumpers and grille.
  4. Got my Modelhaus Shasta trailer kit today..such a neat piece, being meaning to get one for a while.
  5. Archie had a red Model T IIRC in the Archie Comics I remember as a kid from the 70s..
  6. A rainy night...very nice to hear rain at night, and a nice cool breezy morning..
  7. That's what I would assume. Bandit Resins makes a '65 LeMans/Tempest wagon in resin also.
  8. Saw an unusual mid '90s Cadillac limo..was about a 2 foot stretch at the B-pillar with a raised roof...white w/ white vinyl top.
  9. My first year of driving in high school, I drove a couple of my Dad's cars..'84 Ford Escort diesel and an '84 Town Car Cartier series. My first new car I got for my 17th birthday, an '87 Mustang GT which I still have. For college, I got an '86 Mustang LX 2.3 notchback then an '88 Bronco II for grad school.
  10. Close...a Tahoe..pretty sweet SUV.
  11. Crank was probably standard, and keyed ignition an option or a feature of the LX and above trim levels? (J/K..I know Ford has been using LX for only 35 years or so as a trim level..) Speaking of different forms of ignitions, I had a rental this past weekend that retails for about $60k as it was equipped, yet it had a conventional key ignition instead of push-button start (and also a column shift).
  12. Is the plug at the bottom of the radiator shell where a hand crank would go, or a drain plug for the radiator?
  13. Nice..I have a '68 Imperial promo in the same tan w/ black top, has 'Rose Bowl Parade' decals...got it at a flea market years ago.
  14. Someone should take a subcompact and make a 3 wheeler like the Reliant Robin...maybe from an old Geo Metro or Festiva..that would be interesting.
  15. Sedona and Jerome always seem to busy w/ lots of tourists on the weekends...I went to a few of the winery storefronts in Jerome, did a bit of wine tasting..had some good barbeque at Bobby D's BBQ. I mostly just enjoyed the scenery, especially the drive up 89A through Cottonwood, Jerome, Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon up to Flag...I try and get up north a couple times a year. I hadn't been to Winslow before, was kind of a sad, dead little town with a couple touristy Rt 66 souvenir shops and the 'Standin on the Corner' statue named in reference to the Eagles song. The La Posada hotel there is nice, good restaurant.
  16. Have fun...I was up there yesterday...went to Sedona, Jerome, Flagstaff and Winslow. Was nice and cool compared to Phoenix.
  17. I always use Fed Ex, so usually about 3-4 business days.
  18. Marlon Brando's character in 'Apocalypse Now'...
  19. Was up in northern AZ yesterday, saw a few interesting vehicles...a clean silver '67 Camaro convertible, a red '60 Ford stakebed truck (at the 'Standin' on the Corner' Park in Winslow), a rusty '40s Crosley wagon, a primered early '60s Ford stepbed pickup, and on I-40 a black '41 Ford Tudor on a flatbed.. Also saw one of the new Camaro Z/28s, in black w/ black wheels..looked very menacing. Also saw a real unicorn in Flagstaff, AZ--a white '80s Nissan Van--can't be very many of these left in the US as most were recalled and crushed by Nissan after a class-action settlement.
  20. It's not in any of the quarterly release one pagers from '14 or '15, so I would say no.
  21. I may need both also...I like Landies, both stock and modded...the modded one would look good in dark gray w/ black wheels. A coworker has a sweet modded '84 60 series, and a '70 FJ...neat trucks.
  22. Hmmm...I did build the Beatles Yellow Submarine and Jetsons car kits for my sister about a decade ago...those were weird for me..
  23. Interesting..two seats, two sets of door panels, two firewalls, two radiators..
