  1. Yes... in the summers it feels as bad or worse than our 'dry' heat here.... I was down in Miami and the Keys for a few days in July '08, the high heat and humidity is brutal.
  2. Yeah..I was in Colorado for 12 winters, and Ohio & Michigan before that for 24 winters (plus 6 in S. Florida). So I guess I'm used to sunny dry and snowy winters and also gray & damp snowy winters..
  3. I have my heavy coat and toque handy if I need to go out early in the AM to Starbucks.. I can handle cold and snow better than the extreme heat here, I think. I've been away from cold winters since '08, though. I've heard alot about NE storms, my sister lived in the Boston area from '90-97.
  4. I have used it here before on weekend trips up to Flagstaff in the winter.
  5. Probably not..it's in my back hatch area, sort of the 'trunk' of an SUV...all sorts of junk back there-- ice scrapers, heavy winter Weather Tech rubber floor mats, air compressor, battery charger, cans of window deicer, etc...
  6. One of those old rounded Flxble buses from the 50s would be cool.
  7. I remember the big snows we got in Colorado when I lived there...45 inches one time, stayed inside and worked from home for 3 days...stocked up on food and beer before the storm. I still have my snow shovel in my Jeep, though I don't use it much in AZ.. But will need it when I move back to a snowy climate...
  8. Those Fishbowls were pretty neat..and long-lived...my college was still using them for the campus shuttles into at least the early '90s.
  9. I would assume the black could be covered w/ a primer before painting...
  10. Who knows...different people designed them? I would have thought the tooling would have been identical, but it isn't. I would assume Revell was doing it's design electronically w/ CAD systems...would think they would share the engine tooling design between kits, but maybe they aren't that flexible.
  11. See post #12. As I said, Revell has 2 unrelated Magnum kits..the full-detail 1:25th SRT8 w/ opening hatch, and the curbside 'Uptown' 1:24th Magnum R/T custom w/ scissors doors. The regular kit builds stock, the Uptown kits only build as customs.
  12. Two different kits, AFAIK...the regular 1:25th Revell Magnum SRT8 kit (being reissued this year) is not related to the diecast-ish Revell 1:24th custom 'Uptown' Magnum R/T kit that has scissor opening doors and huge bling wheels..
  13. #002 is the Firestone Deluxe Champion Whitewall tire parts pack...
  14. MotorMax did one in 1:64th IIRC....they've done an Aries or Reliant 4dr in 1:24th, haven't seen a K-car wagon in 1:24th.
  15. Depends on the car and how it was driven.. my '86 Mustang LX still had the original clutch when it was totaled w/ 75k miles, my '88 Bronco II still had the original clutch at 92k when I traded it, but I did replace the clutch in my '87 Mustang GT at about 60k miles. My '96 BMW M3 still had the original when I sold it w/ 75k miles.
  16. The Lambo doesn't interest me, the 993 could be interesting... I'm not really into 1/8th scale, though. If they did Porsches like a 917K, '73 911 RS, or '78 930 Turbo then I'd consider..or for Ferraris, maybe a 330p or 365 GTB/4 (Daytona)...
  17. Not really my genre, but I love the color and the interior color. Tires are too narrow for 2013, though. not sure about the 1:1 retro fad, though..shouldn't the hobby continue to evolve and move forward?
  18. Very cool..nice to the two build as base trim 2drs. Would be neat to have a kit of one of these to go with them--
  19. I pick up Mopar Action and Muscle Car Review at my local grocery, still get Collectible Automobile via snail mail, hit B&N occasionally to look for Motorsport, Car, and Top Gear.... I switched Hemmings Classic Cars, Hemmings Muscle Machines, Car & Driver, Road & Track and Automobile to electronic subscription and read them on my Kindle Fire...
  20. Interesting...the forgotten Ferrari. Not as ugly as the Enzo, but rather obscure.
  21. Nothing wrong w/ new or different, I don't see any improvement w/ this style of mounting wheels into tires compared w/ the traditional approach.
  22. The new Revell wheel mounting approach reminds me of the style I've seen w/ cheaper diecasts.
  23. Judging by the shape, I'd say it's a late '90s Pontiac Grand Am..
  24. Yes, they did the original '66 that way also...convertible w/ separate ht roof. The '66 ht as we have it now didn't come about until the Countdown series release.
  25. Mini Exotics did a California Special in resin, but they are out of business.
