  1. Not sure..I haven't looked closely at the boxes. On the Round 2 site they mention that they are curbside. Edit: checked the box on '12 Corvette...says 'Simplified curbside style' on the side of box, and on the bottom of the box they have the trees and parts layout in silhouette and it's clear that the chassis is solid and there is no engine.
  2. The AMT 'Showroom Replicas' series are basically unassembled promos, curbside kits. The series has included '08-10 Challengers, '09-12 Corvette coupes and convertibles, '10 Camaro SS and '11 Camaro SS convertible so far...
  3. Buick wouldn't have worked from the NASCAR branding angle, though. They already have the LaCrosse for their large soft-lux car. A variation of the LWB Zeta (Caprice PPV here) is sold in China as the Buick Park Avenue... I've read that Buick is getting a Riviera 2dr in a couple years as a halo car, it may be on the new Alpha RWD platform which the ATS, next Camaro, next CTS will use..
  4. I remember a 4Runner IIRC...
  5. That Cedric convertible looks like a wild one...never heard of that kit.
  6. The Taurus is it's main market target, I would think....
  7. That's common styling weakness of transverse engine FWD cars, IMO...they have a very short door to front axle length, which results in odd proportions.
  8. I think the manual trans comment was about the '04-06 GTO.
  9. Neat...looks like quite the rough body you started with.
  10. Nope. the Impala is staying FWD. The new FWD 2014 Impala (on the Epsilon II platform) debuted a couple months ago at the New York Auto Show. The Commodores coming here will be badged as SS or another name.. 2014 Impala:
  11. I've seen them on ebay also...slightly used.
  12. Definitely...and if they call it Monte Carlo (which has also been rumored and makes sense from a NASCAR angle for the branding) they would whine about it being a 4dr.. However, it sounds like the name is definitely going to be just 'SS' based on the articles I've seen today.
  13. Actually, it's about 4 inches longer...(204.2 vs 199.9). The Caprice is slightly narrower and taller.
  14. It's AWD based on a FWD platform..I'm no fan of FWD cars. The Taurus is very slab sided w/ tiny windows and tall doors, kind of awkward looking, IMO.
  15. LoL...the CC is big enough and has a sleek shape...but what would they do about an engine...
  16. Doesn't matter..it's not like the race car has anything in common w/ the production car other than the name, it's just marketing. The cost of introducing the Holden brand in NA would be prohibitive.
  17. The rumor I've seen on GM forums is the sedan is the first step...that the Ute and wagon will likely follow in '15 or so...and that it may be built in NA in a few years (also providing a replacement for the currently-imported Caprice PPV police car).
  18. The Holden brand doesn't exist in the US. Chevy is the only place it fits....it's not fancy enough to be a Cadillac, it doesn't fit with Buick either. And GMC is just trucks, CUVs, and SUVs. And with the NASCAR angle, it has to be a Chevy.
  19. Well, technically, that's not the current Charger..that's the previous one ('06-10). I really like the current 11+ car.. As far as the thread build, digging the paint scheme and wheels..
  20. Nope, the Impala is staying FWD (new FWD Impala due for '14 on the Epsilon II platform). The current rumor is the car will be called the 'Chevrolet SS Performance'. Odd name, I would have thought 'Chevelle' or 'Monte Carlo' would have worked better (esp. MC because of the NASCAR angle). I like the current Charger quite a bit, it will be nice to see a competitor from GM again after the short-lived Pontiac G8 (which this car is basically an updated version of). I wish Ford would also get back into the RWD sedan game, but alas they are stuck w/ FWD in the US.
  21. It's a reissue of a RoG kit from the early '90s, I think.
  22. Yeah...I have the same problem...neighbor has 5 cats..they refuse to keep them in their yard.
  23. From what I've read, the Fujimi kit tooling is relatively new, similar to their prebuilt resin kits from a few years ago. All the old '70s era kits (like the Imai and Testors reissues) had the big fender flares, didn't they?
  24. He used to be a semi-regular on the Spotlight Hobbies forum...don't know if he's still a regular there as I don't go there often anymore.
  25. What are you going on about? There never was a promo made of a '67 4dr T-Bird. AMT made 2dr kits and promos back in the '60s. This is a Modelhaus resin kit.
