  1. As far as Revell release dates, I find about the only reliable resource to be Revell's website (New Products tab) which shows the announcements for the current month (which usually means they will be out the last week of the current month at their preferred partner dealers and early in the next month elsewhere). http://www.revell.com/new.html
  2. Nope. No Ranchero of that era has been kitted. There were a couple resin kits about a decade ago, though.
  3. Beautiful build. I have a Johan '59 in my stash that I want to restore eventually.
  4. It would be nice....though there is a certain strange retro appeal to ordering from RMCM by snail mail w/ from a printed catalog...kind of like a flashback to the last century using an 'envelope', 'stamp', etc.
  5. Speaking of hearses, IIRC at one time a resin caster (maybe Jimmy Flintstone?) did a hearse body for this kit.
  6. I used to follow topics, but don't anymore... just hit 'View New Content' link when I visit.
  7. Too warm for me. I sat out in the open at Indy last year and in the past, I prefer being under the overhang in the shade. The humidity+sun is killer..
  8. Yes, noticed those. It was hot, humid and sunny, definitely wouldn't want to be out there in the open.
  9. They probably did it separately so they could leave it off for the race car version.
  10. I guess they decided to use the Foose brand rather than their own 'California Wheels' or 'Motor City Muscle' branding...I don't expect them to be much different than California Wheels versions of other kits..decals, big wheels and tires. As far as the Velocity channel, it used to be called HD Theater..it has Mecum auction coverage, and a couple pretty good shows--Chasing Classic Cars w/ Wayne Carini and a British old car find/fixup/sell show, Wheeler Dealers, that I like... Speaking of big wheels, I wonder what happened to the 3 new wheels Pegasus announced at iHobby last year? Haven't seen anything about them.
  11. I don't know, but I suspect the hourly rate would be a bit low.
  12. Well, Indy Car is an international racing series today, with races in Brazil, Japan, China, and Canada. There have been foreign drivers in the 500 forever, just a higher percentage today. Interesting little article I found on the subject of the race.. http://www.examiner.com/article/is-the-luster-returning-to-the-indy-500
  13. I haven't heard any numbers, but there were a lot of people there...the main grandstands along the front stretch seemed pretty full, the grandstands on turn 4 and 3 looked maybe 1/2 full from what I could see. After the race, It took about an hour to get out of the parking lot and an hour to get back out to the freeway. Last year, though, being the 100th anniversary, most likely had a bigger turnout..was estimated then at 400k IIRC...and the heat this year didn't help. I was there Saturday also to visit the museum and vendors, it was pretty crowded then as well.
  14. Part of that is the demographics of the forum...lots of NASCAR and drag racing fans, few open wheel fans.
  15. It's not as well-followed as it was in the days of AJ Foyt, Bobby Unser, Al Unser, Mario Andretti, Rick Mears, etc (perhaps you have heard of some of those Indy 500 winners) but it still has a following... NASCAR isn't everything in the US, there are many other forms of racing for people that pay attention.
  16. Would be nice...but alas, the model companies haven't paid attention to Indy in a long time.
  17. Probably..but who cares what the general public thinks? This is his 3rd Indy 500 win....he's quite well known amongst motorsport fans, I would think.
  18. As an event in terms of scope and size, it's kind for motorsport fans what going to the Super Bowl is for football fans. I've gone the last two years and a couple times in the past, I think it's going to be an annual tradition, along w/ the US F1 race once that gets going..
  19. Section C, a bit north of the pagoda & start/finish line...near the end of the pit lane. Clear views of turn 4 and the main straight. Also made a trip to the legendary 'Mug & Bun' for the root beer.
  20. I had a good time this weekend at the Indy 500...was hot, but my seats were in the shade. Exciting race. Watched some of the Monaco GP Sunday morning and the Charlotte 600 Sunday evening from my hotel. Had a nice weekend in the green Midwest.
  21. Got mine today along w/ the Hudson convertible...both look pretty nice at first glance.
  22. A neighbor has a gold w/ tan top '05 PT Convertible...neat little car.
  23. I'd like to have seen more new tools announced, but with 4 new tools from last fall's announcement still coming this summer, I guess it's understandable that this fall is thin. Of the new reissue announcements, I can see getting the GNX (I built one back when it first came out, have an idea for another), and maybe the Foose kits if they have new, interesting wheels and other parts. I already have multiples of most of the other reissues I'd be interested in.
  24. That was previously announced. These are new announcements.
