  1. Isn't the watch level 20,000 posts?
  2. Things are rough in Colorado Springs from what I'm reading and hearing...I used to live near the neighborhood that has been hard-hit (Mountain Shadows), know a number of people that live there..
  3. Same number of tires as the slicks set...I don't have a need for the slicks, but these I could definitely use. I did see them at the LHS on Monday and passed on them--they had a few sets, all of them seemed to have at least one tire that had the whitewall imprint out of round. Quality control issue on some, maybe?
  4. Probably licensing costs w/ Firestone contributed to the cost.
  5. Looking sharp..
  6. Some kind of redneck horror...probably someone with too much bondo and time on their hands and access to a junkyard. I guess the real question, is 'Why would someone build something so stupid and ugly?'
  7. Got my Subaru BRZ and some Aoshima wheels from HLJ today (they included a package of Japanese chips)...got a Missing Link resin '69 Cutlass convertible a couple days ago, and an AMT '11 Camaro Indy Pace Car promo.
  8. Well, it's an out of production kit, so besides eBay you might want to check online kit vendors that sell out of production kits.
  9. I hunt down the original boxes to go w/ my older kits that I've bought used w/o the boxes. I keep the boxes and instructions of all the kits I've bought w/ the boxes over the years.
  10. Probably easier to scratchbuild, though...the Ranchero-specific parts (roof, bed, rear quarters, taillgate) of the '72 look nothing like the '70-71. The '70/71 and '72-76 Torinos and Rancheros have no panels in common, I think.. One of the resin casters (it may have been Mini Exotics) did make a '70-71 Ranchero back around 2000, probably hard to find now...
  11. The front bumper looks too flat and not tall enough..
  12. Yeah, as a fan in the stands at the Indy 500, Long Beach GP, NASCAR races, etc I take most of my pics w/ my cell phone and some w/ my Sony Cybershot digital point-and-shoot. Definitely not professional quality photos, but good enough for Fotki and Facebook...
  13. I remember the Grand Prix has some interesting accessories like magazine car test equipment...
  14. I might go see it...it looked fun from the ads, and Alec Baldwin w/ long hair looked hilarious...anything Big 80s I usually enjoy.
  15. Yeah, I haven't restored some of the ones I built that way back then...kind of neat to leave them as is and look back at the strange stuff I did as a kid (like the Revell '56 Chevy 210 2dr sedan w/ the shag carpeting glued all over the interior and the rear quarter window glass glued on the outside...
  16. That kit was my first Johan kit...got it as a kid in 1978. I do remember thinking it was odd that it had no inner fenders, but that didn't stop me from making a brush-painted glue bomb out of it...
  17. Yes...a big part of the appeal of them to me is the subject matter...Caddy de Villes, Eldorados, Olds Toronados, AMCs, '60s Chrysler 300s, etc...
  18. I'm in AZ and air conditioned, but in the summer I tend to spend my weekend free time when I'm in town in the pool or watching racing on TV more than modeling...
  19. Some of my favorite oldies are the AMT '68 annuals and the few '71 MPC kits that had pics of actual cars on the top (Demon, Trans Am, GTX come to mind).
  20. It's too bad the later issues of those kits didn't have the stock parts, though. I have a couple of the '80s-90s issue Comets and they only have the drag car parts.
  21. Would be cool if RoG did one in 1:24th like the one they did a few years ago....
  22. I've found good boxes for storing parts, etc at Target in the office supply section....Office Depot or Office Max are good places to look also. For storing used models I've bought w/o their original boxes, I've found that 550-count card boxes to be the perfect size for 1/25th scale kits, sturdy w/ a folding lid. I get those from sports card stores or Amazon.com.
  23. Sweet..
  24. I have mine w/ cream but no sugar. Got a regular coffee maker, a Keurig one-cup machine, and an espresso machine at home, with 3 Starbucks with a mile of home (2 with drive thrus), a Dunkin Donuts , Einstein Bagels, and a McDonalds nearby as well...no shortage of coffee sources for me.. As far as caffinated sodas, I try and avoid them but we do have Mexican Coca-Cola at work, have one now and then, they taste better than regular Coke IMO.
  25. What's the correlation between the Navy and coffee?
