I haven't looked closely at the tires in the Avanti reissue...as far as the two different sizes of BSS tires, maybe one originated w/ MPC and one with AMT? I remember some '80s MPC kits like the DOH Monaco having them...

AMT Future Releases
Rob Hall replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Tower Hobbies lists the '57 Ford as Late Dec and the '50 Olds as 'Late Sept', the '62 Corvette as Late Oct..who knows if the months are accurate... but those are Revell kits.. -
Neat..I've never had any of the AMT or Revell Valiant kits. Too bad they didn't make a '67-72 style 4dr one.

Johan Mercury Comet
Rob Hall replied to tvandmoviecars's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Best Resin used to cast a flat Comet hood, but they've been out of business probably 5 years or more. Missing Link resin makes a very nice resin '71 Maverick Grabber kit and has the hood available individually. I got an interior tub w/ the back seat from ML a while back to use on one of my Comets, but would like to find a stock flat hood also.. -

Sweet...some beautiful Mopars there. -
75/76 coronet or fury conversion parts?
Rob Hall replied to tvandmoviecars's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Agreed about Missing Link..i've bought quite a few parts and kits from Kevin directly, via their website, and via eBay for the last 6-7 years or so with no problems. Great customer service, great product. -
AFX was selling at the louisville show
Rob Hall replied to route66modeler's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
IIRC they put a post up on their website a few years ago indicating they had sold off the business...but their stuff does seem to pop up now and then on eBay under different names. I bought a bunch of stuff from them without problems years ago up until 2005 or so, when things w/them started getting wierd and involving snakes, spiders, and tornadoes... -
What kits are the Models
Rob Hall replied to Nick Winter's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Cool..IIRC, there was also a cafe racer style version of this kit w/ fender flares... -
Missing Link Resin also offers this hood, IIRC. Never heard of Harts Parts, looks like they have some good stuff. *This was moved into this topic, from the other redundant topic in the Wanted section, so now Rob's post is #1* edited by Casey

What kits are the Models

Looks like someone hacked out the wheelwells on the Capri. I have the Monogram Capri of that era, never had one of the AMT ones. I have the AMT '75 Mustang II and the reissued '77/78 from a few years ago... -
I noticed that...I'll have to dig out my original issue Monogram GMC pickup..don't recall if that was there or added in some later kit (the Chevy stepside 4x4 pickup reissued in the '90s that probably shares tooling). Looks like it has a custom steering wheel also. I've never seen a pickup like that w/ the spare tire attached to the tailgate, that looks odd...but that detail can be left off.

Other than the notorious TKM Marks, I haven't seen any stock '70s Lincolns listed by any resin casters. I'd love to see Modelhaus quality 1:25th scale resin kits of the Mark III, IV, V, and '70-79 Continental sedans...

AMT Future Releases
Rob Hall replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It will be nice to have the '69 Hurst Olds out again..I built it when it first came out back in the day. Nice kit. I'm looking forward to the Vantom Ford van, never had one of AMT's Ford vans (I have the MPC 4x4 ones). I'd like to do a stock one, custom one, and a beater work van.. Interesting that Tower is listing a '75 Gremlin....I wonder if this is a missprint and a reissue of the recent '76 Gremlin reissue but in a normal sized box, or has Round2 backdated it to a '75 (some front end differences). As far speculation about old kits that may or may not resurface, I do wonder if any of the Craftsman/Jr Craftsman kit tooling still exists...the only one that's been reissued since I've been in the game is the '64 Comet IIRC.. -
What Slows Down Your Builds?

Work, life, other interests competing for time. I'm good at starting projects, not so good at finishing them. -
Yeah... I'm on my second Android phone..just replaced my old Motorola Droid with a Motorola Razr Maxx. I have other Apple products (iPod, Mac Book Pro) but I like Android phones. Though I will be getting a iPhone soon as a work phone.

Revell 2012 Fall New Releases Announced
Rob Hall replied to TurboKitty's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
December is what some vendors are listing it as, so probably January? -
I don't have an iPhone, but have a Mac Book Pro...I'd like an OSX, Windows, or Android version to play with...

How to find those dropped parts!
Rob Hall replied to Harry P.'s topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I have no carpeting (wood and tile) and can usually find a dropped part, if I'm fast enough that I get before a doggy hoovers it up... -
I bought several resin cowl hoods a few years ago from PSF Hobbies on eBay, not sure if they are still in business, mostly Chevy items. I've thought of making a couple for myself, using the extra cowl hoods from the Revell '69 Nova...I'd specifically like to make one for an MPC '76 Monza and one for an MPC '79 Nova, which I haven't seen in resin.

That would be nice...mine was almost $600 this month, running pretty much non stop..but in the few cool (under 100F) months, it's only $150 a month or so..
