I guess this one of those 'you had to be there' type of subjects...they are from a specific time and place. I have no interest in them, or also Tom Daniels' type of customs, or customs in general, but I do know they have their fans...
I might subscribe...MTC and Collectible Automobile are two mags I want to keep print subscriptions of as I switch my other mags to electronic versions.
Main differences are the grille and tailights..the '73 has quad round tailights, the '74 has dual rounded trapazoidal tailights..'73 is the better looking of the two years, IMO.
Hmmm...got to worry about losing parts in the loo or sink, though... I've learned from experience not to open kits on the sofa or bed, because parts disappear on their own or the furkids abscond with them...
I like Scottsdale..there are a lot of restaurants over there that I like..and the Pavillions for car shows, etc...worked at Scottsdale Rd and Camelback for 6 months last year at a client in an underground office... was a nice short commute..
True enough...I see plenty of worn out Corvettes running around, and used to see worn out Fieros (I haven't seen a running Fiero in ages)...seen a couple battered, tattered Vipers also...so it happens to some examples of any car sooner or later...
The PT and HHR were pretty high volume w/ relatively long runs (esp. the PT), pretty much mainstream 5dr hatchback compacts w/ retro-modern styling. The SSR and Prowler OTOH were pretty low volume and short run models.
They ran their course and are out of production now..some for quite a while. As far as unconventional looking niche models, the Cube, Juke, Leaf and Soul are out there now...
I'm looking forward to October. Summer is miserable here. But I am looking forward to my out-of-town trips this Spring/Summer (Indy 500, Rolex Monterey Historics, etc).
