  1. I got the engine from a Revell '02 Camaro SS...and I'm thinking of going w/ 19 inch Pegasus DZs..a multi-spoke rim that looks rather classy and fit for a Caddy, IMO..probably w/o the whitewalls, though..
  2. I've made notes... Have an LS engine and Pegasus wheels. But, yes, to actually build it is another thing.. I'm not sure if I have modeler's block, too busy, or if I just spend too much time online...
  3. I'm thinking of doing one Pro Touring style, kind of like this...
  4. To do it stock the body would have to be different (since the way the side trim attaches), the bumpers, grille, headlights, suspension, wheels, tires...at least 50% of the kit would be different. It's an unusual kit, an '80-84 Coupe de Ville w/ '90-92 Brougham trim...such cars do exist in 1:1, built as custom lowriders. I'd love to see either a stock Coupe de Ville or Brougham kitted, but am not holding my breath..(neither the CdV or Brougham pictured below has the stock grille).
  5. The Donks was the 2nd styrene issue..before that, there was a Revell Lowrider series issue. Before that, it was a diecast.
  6. Looks like it's a straight reissue of the 1st release..lowrider only.
  7. 1985 Peterbuilt 359 according to imcdb.org (Internet Movie Car Database)
  8. The '49 Olds 88 IPC convertible would be a nice variation for Revell to do as a 2nd kit..
  9. Given Revell's long history of doing IPC kits, I'm surprised they haven't done one of the Cutlass yet..
  10. Yeah, the dreadful AZ heat. Can't wait to get out of here for good..100 degrees already in April.
  11. Did you put in a black and white '50s TV and black rotary dial phone also? Kind of taking retro too far...I couldn't imagine replacing modern appliances with old ones..modern ones are much more efficient and have more useful features.
  12. Wow...the first battery in my Grand Cherokee lasted 4 years, but after moving to AZ I replace the battery every 2 years.
  13. In 12 yrs/136k miles I've replaced the front and rear brakes (pads & rotors) on my Jeep 3 times, roughly every 40k miles.
  14. I was there for about a half-hour...wish I could have stayed longer and met people but my weekend was a blur..
  15. Cars that are anacronistic drive me nuts in movies...I can't avoid noticing them...stuff like a movie or TV show that is set in 1971 yet a 1975 vehicle is visble. One that I noticed in a recent movie was in 'The Debt'--there is a scene set in 1966 Berlin where 3 characters are walking across a runway...and an '81 Olds 88 is sitting there waiting for them..
  16. Same with removable headrests on seats...
  17. Because 90% of the model-buying population in the US is eligible for AARP membership?
  18. Speaking of Miami Vice, I recall a car in a chase in one episode w/ a car that resembled a '60s Porsche 906...probably was a kit car. I think it was the episode w/ Danny Sullivan as a race driver.
  19. Very cool...love those Can-Am cars.
  20. I hated that movie...they should have used modern disposable appliances like Camrys and Accords.
  21. I liked the '68 Grand Prix in 'Goodfellas'... I notice goofs like that in movies all the time... I remember in 'Arlington Road' Jeff Bridges' character's Ford Contour switched from a '95-97 to a '98-00 in a chase scene..
  22. Maybe, maybe not. My generation and the younger ones (Y/Millenial and Z) have grown up w/ video games and other forms of entertainment...modeling never was a wide spread phenomenon as it was for the Baby Boomers. I remember as a kid in the '80s being pretty much the only modeler amongst my friends, everyone was into Atari, etc games..
  23. I'd do '83-86...do '83-84 H/O and '85-86 442 versions.. The '81-86 were pretty much identical year-to-year other than yearly grill changes ('87-88 had composite headlights). Not much of note for the '78-80, except for the '79 H/O version. 1/24th if they based it on the existing MC/GN tooing. 1/25th for all new.
  24. Hunter S. Thompson's Red Shark '71 Impala convertible would be an interesting Vegas-related build.
