  1. Nothing to be surprised about...it's a reissue of an old kit... I wouldn't have expected them to retool it.
  2. I built one stock back when they came out in the '80s...picked up another one when it was reissued in the '00s, haven't built that one yet, but am thinking of building a phantom Daytona convertible like I saw in a Mopar magazine recently. Have a couple of the Revell ones also, which are better, but I like the old MPCs as well.
  3. Interesting..the presence of the sunroof implies that they will do a civilian version...I'd like to see a stock R/T..haven't seen any listed yet on eBay.
  4. Looks good.
  5. I wonder when the diecast companies will do the new Charger in 1:24th/1:25th..stock and police versions..
  6. MCM, Scale Auto, Collectible Automobile, electronic subscriptions to the 4 Hemmings magazines, Automobile, Car & Driver, Road & Track. Once in while I pick up Muscle Car Review or Mopar Muscle at the grocery, and pick up Motor Trend Classic, Motorsport (UK), Car (UK), F1 Racing (UK) , Top Gear (UK) and Classic and Sportscar (UK) occasionally at the bookstore. Also subscribe to Rolling Stone and Premiere. Pick up Time and The Economist on occasion. I also subscribe to Dr Dobbs Journal, a computer programming magazine for my real-life vocation... In the coming years, I see myself switching to more electronic subscriptions...as I do a lot of reading on my laptop, phone, Kindle and iPad.
  7. Beautiful route...I've driven it on a fall foliage tour about 15 years ago when my sister lived in the Boston area and I was visiting...I miss the fall colors of the East and Midwest.
  8. I didn't notice they were down until this evening...had a busy day at work.
  9. Neat how that cover has 'CHEVROLET' spelled out on it...don't think I've seen one like that.
  10. Sometimes I've not noticed the copyright until after I've painted the chassis and assembled the kit.. Though with the '60s AMT kits that have promo-style writing on the chassis, I leave those as is because it's a cool detail...
  11. I like nice green grass on my little piece of desert (my backyard and frontyard). Though some prefer gravel..
  12. Looks like a V8 to me...
  13. I wonder if there is anyone that uses Bleech-Wite to clean whitewall tires...
  14. Is the van in this set the one Revell is reissuing next year?
  15. I think the AMT Myers Manx dates to the late '60s.
  16. Yes....too many history essays in this thread...show pictures of the new kit!
  17. One detail the movie car had that was distinctive--it had a '71-72 rear bumper.
  18. Johan did the Javelin in '68-69-70, but I don't have any... They are on my grail list along w/ the Ambassador and Rebel of the same years. I have the '80s issue of the Johan '69 AMX, and their '71 and '74 Javelins.. the only '68-69 Javelin model I have is the Revell 1:32nd snap kit.
  19. I have the Skips '55 and '57 Nomad in my to-build stash...the only one of the old Revell Tri-Fives I built was a '56 2dr sedan that I built at age 7...it was my first glue kit...turned out to be a glue bomb, but was definitely a learning experience.
  20. Got a package from my favorite OLD this evening w/ 3 Revells--the '10 Mustang GT convertible and the '02 Camaro SS and '69 Camaro SS convertible reissues---want the LS engine, seats, etc from the '02 to kitbash w/ the '69 to do a Pro-Touring style convertible. Also from eBay got an unbuilt AMT VW Scirocco, one of the kits from back in the day that was never reissued and I was always slightly interested in...
  21. I still see it...a box of cigars. I enjoy a cigar once in a while w/ a single malt scotch or dirty vodka martini...probably going to partake in one next weekend at my company holiday party, since there is a cigar bar at the resort the party is at...
  22. I kind of outgrew watching DOH when I was 12...haven't seen it since then. But I did build the MPC 1:25th and 1:16th scale Chargers and the other kits (Jeep, Cooter's Tow Truck, police car) back in the early '80s...the 1:16th Charger was dissapointing as it was a race car kit w/ a stockish body. Oh well. As an adult years later I realized MPC was just reusing existing tooling for all of these kits (with some new parts), but as a kid the one kit I wished they had done but didn't do was the Boss Hogg Caddy convertible.
  23. There is a 1:24th/1:25th scale diecast. I have one in dark red..it is a Welly IIRC.
  24. Strip the chrome, paint the bumpers and grille black, paint the body white, do it as a worn vintage work truck..
