  1. Funniest thing are the people who seem to put more money in the stereo than the car itself...seen many worn out junkers w/ loud sound systems...what's the point?
  2. Oh well...such it is. Packages are most of the mail I get via USPS these days...very little letter mail other than a few magazines since I pay all my bills online and have been switching to electronic versions of magazines.
  3. I have 4 of the AMT '62s (incl. an original issue w/ the opening decklid) but I can definitely see getting a couple of the new one...one to do stock and one to do Pro Touring style...w/ a modern Corvette drivetrain maybe..
  4. Yeah, that was a one-time only about 15 yrs ago...I stick to my dealer for the new car and a couple good local shops for maintenance on my older cars.
  5. Don't know about the product they sell, but the one time I had an oil change at W-M they ruined my drain plug.
  6. Really good independent hobby shops seem to be getting harder to find in many areas unfortunately. The years I lived in Colorado I was fortunate to have several, same with when I lived in SE Michigan and NE Ohio in the '90s.
  7. And it's easier w/ the Shelby since the fascias are separate parts IIRC.
  8. With a bit of work the front and rear fascias could be sawed off to swap in the Shelby ones to kitbash w/ the Shelby coupe...
  9. There was a small hobby shop I went to once somewhere on the west side last summer where the proprietor had a gun on his hip...weird....Wild West stuff, I guess..not used to seeing people w/ guns in public like that.
  10. Saw a few Revell kits at the local K-Mart...haven't seen any kits at the Wal-Marts near me in Central Phoenix...the only hobby shop I usually frequent is Hobby Depot (good new kit selection) in Tempe which is more convenient now that I work in downtown Tempe. The Hobby Bench at 19th Ave and Northern is close to home and they have a decent kit selection, but usually don't have the latest releases.
  11. Whoever put the mockup box art together probably grabbed an image from GM's press photos w/o looking too closely....not sure about why they have the year goof..you would think they be labeling these kits as 2012s since the 2012s are out now....likewise for Revell and their Camaro kit...2010 is so 12+ months ago...
  12. It is odd...the boxart shows a European spec '12 convertible (the big mirrors and wide plate are the giveways)..don't know why it's marked as a '10, since the convertible was a MY '11 addition to the Camaro line. I had read there was going to be an '11 IPC convertible promo.
  13. Totally different since this is the production Camaro...and curbside.
  14. Actually, they have released a few newly designed kits in recent years--the '09-10 Challengers, the Batmobile, the '09-10 Corvettes, and the upcoming '10+ Camaro....
  15. Went on an end of the month eBay spree earlier this week and snagged a few interesting old MPC kits...unbuilt '82 Ford EXP (never had that one before), unbuilt '77 Monza (have the '76 and '79), unbuilt '79 Nova, and built and restorable original issue '71 Road Runner (I have 4 of these + the GTX, but love this style Mopie)..
  16. So if you've seen in the box, are the bumpers and fascias separate or molded in? That would definitely help in kitbashing...
  17. It means the AMT, MPC and Polar Lights brands have a future.
  18. I thought Round 2 was leasing the tooling from RC2...RC2 was bought by Tomy, IIRC.
  19. Just marketing nonsense...like the stupid 'Streetburner' moniker Revell uses on some kits..or 'Special Edition', 'Revell Muscle', etc...means nothing.
  20. My LHS said they would be in tomorrow...
  21. Haven't been in a Michaels in years...didn't realize they carried kits.
