  1. The silver car is the current Nissan GT-R...an incredible performance car...it's a very well known car, surprised people wouldn't recognize it..
  2. I got 3 new Revell kits as gifts for my birthday...the Ferrari 458 Italia, Mercedes SLS AMG, and Mercedes 300SLR coupe.
  3. Lots of racing this weekend..watched the coverage of the Grand Am race at Road America this morning, got the Indy Iowa race this evening and F1 from Valencia in the morning...
  4. It's a nice evolution. I'd still like to see the new Scirocco in the US, though.
  5. I've seen a lot of bad drivers here in AZ...a lot of people that have no clue how to drive in rain. Saw a zombie woman driving down the middle of a residential street the other day, texting or surfing on her cell phone w/ both hands and two kids in the back seat... laid on the horn to get her attention.
  6. I missed that one also...selected 20 seconds. I got 90%, not bad after 25 years of driving. I've never had a ticket, had 3 accidents (none my fault). I don't recall if I've lived in a state where passing on the right was illegal..I'm usually always on freeways that are 3-4 lanes per side, but I've passed on the right on 4-6 lane city streets also.
  7. LoL..great description of the Tin Snail.
  8. I need to make a trip to Urbana and Champaign sometime...one of my closest friends from grad school is a professor at the U. of Illinois now. I almost chose UIUC for grad school, but went to the U of Michigan instead. I've been to Chicago many times and spent a couple summers in the '90s living w/ friends in Lincoln Park. Almost moved to the Schaumburg area when I moved to Colorado in '97. I still contemplate the Chicago area for my next move, though the winters are not as nice as Arizona..
  9. Interesting...rust never sleeps. That gray Mustang LX reminds me of the '86 I had in college (except mine was shiny w/o red trim).
  10. The only time I recall having Spam was in Hawaii, had some rolls that were like sushi but w/ Spam. Rather tasty, IIRC.
  11. Not that one..talking about the other one in this thread..
  12. Maybe try 'jeff-b' or 'j e f f b' or 'jeefb'.. On that board, I find I have to alter the spelling or add spaces to various words to get posts to go thru sometimes..
  13. Welcome to the board...I'm from eastern Ohio originally (Steubenville and the New Philadelphia area).
  14. Ooooh..that is sweet. Never seen one of those.
  15. Too much work. The MPC 500 (last reissued about 10 years ago by AMT) builds up nicely w/ some detail painting...built a couple of them. The AMT '68-69 Plymouth Road Runner/GTX chassis and engine could probably be adapted for more detail.
  16. I still remember the Salt & Vinegar Pringles in the UK and the great ham and cheese baguette sandwiches in France... I'd like to go to Portugal...Portugal and Spain are on my to-visit list.
  17. Yeah... oversharing.. Need more fiber, I guess... I do recall the food on British Airways being pretty good for airline food.
  18. Meh...not my thing..I'm into F1 and endurance racing...the 24hrs of Le Mans, British GP, Monaco GP are on my to-do list...
  19. I got the new Fujimi Porsche 911 GT3 R undecorated version in the mail from HLJ yesterday...I'd like to find some '11 ALMS or Le Mans graphics for it.
  20. Groceries can be interesting...I've been in Tescos and others in the UK...actually ate a meal on Thanksgiving Day 2001 in Harrods' food court/grocery area..lol. I found myself wandering around a drug store and a grocery in Milan one year trying to find laxatives... (10+ hr plane rides tends to clog me up--funny I brought plenty of Immodium and antacids, but no ex-Lax)... Though I always visit the big tourist draws when I'm on holiday in Europe (The Louvre, Rome's Forum and Colleseum (saw a blue Chevy Tahoe parked across the street in '04), British Museum, Westminster Abbey, the Vatican, Brera Museum, Tower of London, Stonehenge, etc) I do try and find the local non-touristy restaurants, cafes, pubs, shops, etc.. I've been in London 5 times--1st trip was for 5 days, second for 7 days, the rest have been 1-2 days as layovers between flights to/from Rome, Paris, Milan, etc. I've always enjoyed London.. I'm planning my next trips across the pond to have more motorsport and auto-related sights...Goodwood Festival of Speed, Donnington Park F1 museum, Monza (I saw the train stop for Monza when I was going from Milan to the lakes a few years ago) and Imola, Porsche Museum, Mercedes Museum, etc..
  21. There used to be a standard dash available in resin, but I think the resin caster went out of business....Ayoatollah something, IIRC.
  22. When I was in Rome a few years ago, I literally stumbled upon a small hobby shop near the Vatican..it was pretty much all 1:43rd diecast, but also had Tamiya 1:24th kits IIRC. I bought a Minichamps 1:43rd '69 Mercury Marauder there and a couple Alfas...
  23. Neat idea... never heard of the movie, will have to look for it on Netflix. I like cheesy '70s movies, and anything w/ Joe Don Baker.
