  1. Much nicer box art on the RoG packaged ones...same tooling otherwise, I assume. I have one, the '06 Mustang GT in RoG packaging, IIRC, the only difference I could find was some undersized EU style number plates on the decal sheet. I'd love to see the RoG style box art on normal US Revell boxes...I like the Colorado backgrounds on the RoG '66 Shelby and the GT500..
  2. Very cool..
  3. Cool...the concept reminds me of a tiny Hot Wheels 'Zowee' I have from childhood..
  4. I knew what was going on, because I've seen him pull this stunt on other forums..
  5. Yeah, it's too bad Revell hasn't done an '05+ convertible... I'll have to scratchbuild 3-4 of those tulip panels to do the ones I want to do...I figure I can use the boot from the Revell Cobra convertibles w/ some mods (I have a few extra '96 Cobra conv. kits in my parts stash). I'm surprised someone in the resin world hasn't offered a convertible version of the '06 kit yet.
  6. Interesting..I have no idea what the difference between a Dana and a 8 3/4 rear end would be...would they look different in 1/25th scale?
  7. I have an extra Saleen '98 kit, and got the Scale Auto issue today... I want to do a stock '06 GT convertible, a GT500 convertible, a GT-H convertible, and something custom (2 seat roadster w/ a tonneau like the Saleen). For the GT-Hs maybe I'll scratchbuild an automatic shifter...they look simple enough looking at the brochure and pics online.
  8. My Australian Terrier, Nauti...10 pounds of joy.
  9. Not that I know of..I think it's a mythical place, like 'Podunk'....I always tell people I'm originally from Podunk, Ohio (which I am from, in Amish Country).
  10. Yes, RIP Phil... I've read his writings in Road & Track for 30 years probably.... fascinating guy.
  11. I've had people think I was from Iowa even after telling them I'm originally from Ohio....4 letters, both flat Midwestern states...I guess they get them confused. But I'm actually from eastern Ohio, which has more in common w/ western Pa than the Midwest..... hilly Appalachian foothills...I've managed to live in 6 states (OH, FL, MI, IL,CO, AZ) in 38 years. I'm flying to Pittsburgh this afternoon..will be fun to back in Ohio for Labor Day, get my Mustang out, take a few drives around the twisty back roads..
  12. Yes, and the climates are so similar..
  13. I wonder if Fujimi will do the new Scirocco? That would be cool... I'd love to see some more current Audi kits besides the R8....I'd love to see the RS4, S5, S8, and TTS kitted...
  14. Speaking of Iowa, I've had 4 recruiters this week contact me with the same job description that has the same typo: "Location: Des Moines, AZ". I asked each to verify with their clients that the position was actually Des Moines, Iowa..... a couple them didn't realize there was a difference between Arizona and Iowa. ARGGGGH
  15. Optimist: the glass is half full. Pessimist: the glass is half empty. Me: there is no glass.
  16. It would be nice if someone in the resin world would cast those Supra tires... I'm not interested in buying kits just for the tires, but they do look better than the Revell tires..
  17. I've heard of Tatra, never seen one. The much larger Chrysler Airflows had a similar shape. It's normal for many cars within a certain era to have similar styling cues.....look at American cars of the '40s... what made the Beetle iconic is it's longevity and that it didn't change style though the years--no fins in the late '50s, etc... Look at mass market midsize FWD sedans today...they are more similar than different in styling cues..
  18. That is very cool... the bodywork looks excellent..that roof looks great on there.
  19. I'll have 12 '05-08 Mustangs in my to-build closet eventually... stock and convertible conversions of the GT, GT-H, and GT500; the upcoming Bullitt and KR kits, 1 stock GT coupe with Euro number plates (the Revell of Germany version), and 3 tuner style coupes with resin hoods, side scoops, etc. and aftermarket wheels. I assume after the 1st of the year or so they will announce a Corvette Z-R1 kit and maybe a '10 Camaro. I'd really like to see a G8 GXP and Caddy CTS-v, but am not holding my breath.
  20. Looks like it..last year, they were supposed to be diecast lowriders. This year, styrene donks. Maybe they will be announced (then cancelled) next year in a new series called 'Beaterz', done up as rusty worn out cars...
  21. I love all of those..to the Boss list I'll add 'The Promise'....a Challenger is mentioned in the storyline...love the song...off of the 18 Tracks CD.
  22. Yes, that would be hellacool...
  23. Same here, I'm not too worried about the dirty bits like the chassis...the stock hood, hubcaps, headlights, maybe stock bench seat interior are more interesting to me..
  24. That looks really sharp..I've been thinking of doing one...either a white OJ edition, or a bronze and gold two tone like the one I had back in the day..
