  1. Wow! Those pics make the woodgrain look black. It's actually a dark blue with grey and silver drybrushed on. Later-
  2. Playing with this idea tonight while watching TV. I like this front end better than the stock kit. Later-
  3. Got quite a bit done at the bench tonight. Progress on my 61 Galaxie and my Wagon Rod/ Vantastic custom. Later-
  4. Thanks! I'm liking it more with the flake added. Later-
  5. I mixed some green pearl microflakes into my clear today and sprayed the body of my 61 Galaxie. Doesn't look much different until the sun or flourecent light hits it. Then it shines! Later-
  6. Got the dash from my 61 Galaxie done today as well as a lot of other stuff. Later-
  7. Wonderful article. I remember when that 48 was in Street Rodder. Here is a 1:1 Chevy done a bit differently (along the lines if what ozmodeler mentioned above) that I snapped pics of at a recent car show in Kentucky. The lady told me that it was a factory built job. Later-
  8. Painted my 61 Galaxie with a couple different nail polishes. The body is LA Colors "Sea Life" and the roof is Sally Hansen "Pumping Iron". Looking for a set of 60's Dog Dish caps. Later-
  9. Went to a sale Saturday that one of our local club members holds every month and these followed me home as well as some packs of styrene rod and a couple sets of Pegasus tires. An Ecto 1 parts kit A Jeep Commando kit with most of the parts A beautiful old Heller kit that is only missing a couple of engine pieces And a kit I've wanted for a long time- Tamiya Jaguar. Later-
  10. Working on a couple different ideas using the WagonRod kits. Later-
  11. These came in the mail yesterday. The chassis from the screw bottom fits the resin wagon so I'm set there. However, if anyone has a spare front grill and rear bumper for a 59 Pontiac I'd love to have a set for the original body. Later-
  12. Picked this adjustable shelf up at a thrift store today for $40. Lots of paint storage for me!! Later-
  13. Got a bit of progress made on this last night. Made a roll cage that resembles the one from a reference online. What a pain! It's just flexible enough to be able to weave it in. Hopefully I'll be able to fit the windshield in now. Later-
  14. Thank you! I'm glad you all like it. This is the second "Swap Build" that SamIAm and I are doing. We decided to each build a GTO- Mine a 66, his a 67- and then swap them. Later-
  15. Nice work! I like the technique you used for the graphics. I'll have to give that a try on a build. And extra points for use of an unusual subject for a lowrider! Later-
  16. Very clean work. Nicely done! Later-
  17. Thank you all for your kind comments. It is very much appreciated. Later-
  18. Thank you all very much. I am extremely happy with the chassis and engine details. The body, I'm happy with. Thanks again. Later-
  19. I tried my hand at doing a lowrider paint scheme on this 66 GTO. Not exactly great work but I enjoyed practicing with the HOK and Ultracolor paints I had and trying to learn how to use them. It has quite a few "dings" in the paint from bumping it when the paint was still wet while trying to remove tape. Oh well! I probably will never go this detailed in another paintjob as it turned out to be a lot of work. It did, however, give me a lot more respect for those who can do the phenominal lowrider paint jobs. Definitely takes some serious vision and skill. The only non kit parts to this build were the tires and wheels and I added a dash from a 65 Grand Prix for a little custom touch. Later-
  20. Got a couple of things in the mail over the last few days from two different trades. Later-
  21. The hood turned out to be fine. Just a small chip on the edge that I can touch up with some paint and clear from a brush. I will need to put it in a secure location until the last thing. Later-
  22. Great trade with TarheelRick. Love the kit. Simple trade. Thanks! Later-
  23. Just picked these up. The Impala.is complete a d sealed inside (surprizing) and the Blazer has enough of the main pieces to be built as a stock Blazer, if I come up with wheels and tires. Not bad for a total of $26. Later-
