  1. Thank you all very much. I am extremely happy with the chassis and engine details. The body, I'm happy with. Thanks again. Later-
  2. I tried my hand at doing a lowrider paint scheme on this 66 GTO. Not exactly great work but I enjoyed practicing with the HOK and Ultracolor paints I had and trying to learn how to use them. It has quite a few "dings" in the paint from bumping it when the paint was still wet while trying to remove tape. Oh well! I probably will never go this detailed in another paintjob as it turned out to be a lot of work. It did, however, give me a lot more respect for those who can do the phenominal lowrider paint jobs. Definitely takes some serious vision and skill. The only non kit parts to this build were the tires and wheels and I added a dash from a 65 Grand Prix for a little custom touch. Later-
  3. Got a couple of things in the mail over the last few days from two different trades. Later-
  4. The hood turned out to be fine. Just a small chip on the edge that I can touch up with some paint and clear from a brush. I will need to put it in a secure location until the last thing. Later-
  5. Great trade with TarheelRick. Love the kit. Simple trade. Thanks! Later-
  6. Just picked these up. The Impala.is complete a d sealed inside (surprizing) and the Blazer has enough of the main pieces to be built as a stock Blazer, if I come up with wheels and tires. Not bad for a total of $26. Later-
  7. Picked this up yesterday at a thrift store. I don't collect Avon bottles but I thought this was cool, and the art on the box is what caught my eye. Nice little thing for the shelf. Later-
  8. Been a busy week for me and haven't had much time for building but I have made a bit of progress since the last update. Got the body cleared and a bedliner made for the back. Added seatbelts for the front seats. Been working on making shocks for the front and rear. Later-
  9. Another great looking project, Michelle! Later-
  10. Michelle, That turned out pretty nice for just starting with a body. Great Job! Later-
  11. Another quick mock up. Later-
  12. Worked a bit more last night and made progress on the interior. It's coming together. Later-
  13. I have paint on it!! Base coat of Testors Sterling Silver with a top coat of Testors Emerald Green Metallic. I'll do the belt line and flares in Semi Gloss Black once everything dries well. Later-
  14. Got the chassis extended, puttied, smoothed, and primed. Also got the gap in the body and bed smoothed and the fender flares finished. Shot a quick bit of primer on the driver's side only since I had another spot to putty on the passenger side. Making progress. Later-
  15. Thank you. Got the engine started and the gap between the bed and cab filled and puttied last night. Later-
  16. Tonight's progress. I thinned out and attached the front of the front fender flares and added a bit of styrene in the gap between the cab and bed. Found a built up chassis from an 80's Ramcharger that looks like it will work with some mods. I removed the hump in the frame above the rear suspension so it would sit flat against the underside of the bed. Cut out the sections and replaced them with rectangle styrene. I'll go back later and add more to the same thickness as the frame. I will need to extend the frame about a quarter inch just in front of the rear spring shackle in order to get the rear axle centered in the wheel well. I also glued the VTS engine block together to see how it sits in the frame. I had to cut out the front cross member/engine perch and lower it a bit to lower the engine in the bay. Lots of work to go but I'm liking the look so far. Later-
  17. Been a bit since I've made any progress on this. Here is a mock up after tonight's session at the bench. Going to finish the flares and mold in the cab and bed as one on my next session. Later-
  18. Went to my club meeting/swap meet Thursday. Got rid of a few things and picked up a few projects/parts. Fortunately I got rid of more than I took with me. 59 Impala lowrider is sealed inside for a fantastic price! Later-
  19. Got tired of stumbling over tubs full of paint sitting on my floor so I spent a few hours making a shelf for them. Trust me, it looks like I only spent a few hours on it but it works. Now to find somewhere to put the three giant bins full of spray paint. Later-
  20. Got some more progress done last night and today. Got the interior done and got the clear sprayed. Nothings perfect on it. Added some interface mica powder in the base and mid coats of clear for a bit more sparkle. Later-
  21. Thank you guys. It's been interesting trying to figure out a pattern that looks good to me. I believe it still needs something. May try adding a bit of light (whitish-silver) gold or antique gold that I have. Later-
  22. Got some more painting done last night on my 66 GTO lowrider. Later-
  23. Just a bit of proof that I'm making forward progress. Slow, but forward... Later-
  24. Thanks! Been trying to come upmwith something I haven't seen done. If I'm correct the hood center comes from the Viper ACR kit (found it in a parts box I got). I had to move the vents closer to the front since they were too far back and would have lost part of them when I cut the rear hood line. Plan is to convert the front bench seat to two buckets and make the interior a "pass through" to the bed. Also will have a bench rear seat in the bed. Later-
  25. Started this project tonight for another club build-off. Have until Oct to complete it. Not much progress yet. Not quite sure where I'm headed but I think I have an idea for an open top Blazer (or, I guess a Ramcharger) style. Later-
