Jason, Glad to see that you got it. I hope you enjoy it and looking forward to what you do to it. Later-

I shot some acrylic paint on the chassis and suspension a bit ago. It is a custom mix of Spring Green and Soft Grey. http:// http:// It was a bit too bright of green so I mixed in a bit more Grey and re-shot. http:// http:// Much better now. The lighting is poor. When it dries I will move it to some better lighting. Later-

I think that it all sounds good. Would look good in root beer with a tan/yellow mod top. Later-

Lol. Im thinking of running to the model train store on Friday to pick a brain or two. Later-

I won't post every update here, but this is where I'm at so far. Removing the "wood" panels in place of some real wood. http:// http:// Going to be a slow process. Can'twait to see everybody's plans. Later-

Thanks Steve. Getting an early start on it today. Plan is to replace all of the outer plastic "wood" panels with real wood. A slow process. http:// http:// That's it for now. Break is over. Back to work. Later-

So, I joined a fun CBP titled "Swap-N-Build. The idea is that the entrants are paired off and each person in the pair sends the other a "surprise" kit to build. It can either be something that the builder is comfortable with, or if the other feels like it he can make them stretch their boundaries. The rules are that you can not tell the other what you are sending and you MUST build it, although any way you see fit. I was paired with Jason (68 Shortfleet) and he sent me this. http:// Although I have never built this kit it is not outside of my tastes for kits. So, I thought that I would try to build it differently than I normally would. After a brief search through the interweb I found many pictures of what I would normally build (stock, surf Woody, hot rod, rat rod, etc) Then I stumbled upon these two pictures and knew I had the basis for my next build. http:// http:// I LOVE THEM!!! I have not seen this done yet. Stay tuned and, please, follow along. Later-

Ooohh, another "Woody" ( of sorts). Your ideas sound good to me. Later-

Perhaps a good start on the wheels? http:// Later-

After just a few minutes of searching for ideas I believe I have found something that, not only have I not done, but I don't think I have seen on this site. http:// http:// I am excited about this! Now for more research and a stop at the local train hobby store. Interestingly enough there is a connection for me. Most here don't know that I was a conductor and engineer with the Alaska Railroad for 11 years. Later-

Got mine from Jason just now. http:// I'm excited! Drum roll, please.... http:// I have had this kit and the custom version (and actually have a pre-painted body at home) in the past but sold them off before building it. Now I get a chance to do what I should have done a long time ago. Looking forward to it! Later-

Congratulations on the new move. I understand being busy with home remodeling. Lately the only time I have to work on models is during my breaks and lunch at work. Fortunately I am the only one in my shop during the day so I can leave most of my stuff out and have lots of storage. I had planned to get some paint on the chassis today but I had some work issues this morning (welcome to Monday morning) so I doubt I'll get anything done today. I look forward to you coming back. Ooohh, pretty! Can't wait to see what's inside that box. I tried to get my package off to Jason yesterday but didn't make it to the PO by the Noon closing time. I'll get it out first thing on Monday. Later-

Thanks guys. This is a project I have wanted to do for a long time. Now it has finally come time. Hopefully I can stay focused on it till the end. Later-

Thanks for the link. I figured someone had dealt with it. Sounds like some old panty hose will do till I can get some pick up tube screens. Later-.

So, here is the build I started years ago and just picked back up. It is a Jairus Watson rendering. http:// When I left the project years ago I had mocked up everything for fit. Once I started back up I realized that the front sat too high. I relocated the kingpins for the front wheels up about 1/8 inch. Now it sits more like the drawing. http:// I glued the very front hood piece into place. http:// Today I primed the parts and did a wash of the panel lines and the grille and taillight panel for a bit of contrast. http:// http:// I'll clean the mess up and hit it with a light coat of primer in a few spots before paint. I picked up some acrylic craft paint that closely matches the rendering. I am building the parts pack 427 for this. Should be a pretty straightforward build. Later-

Wow! Last post is July 31!! You guys must have slipped back into a slump! Get with it!! I'm going to jump in on this one. I have managed to get out of a slump recently and re-started a project that I have been dying to do for a long time. I figured I may as well post it up here. Pictures to follow as soon as I get them loaded. Later-

Jason and I have determined what the other is getting and we are both looking forward to our "presents". I got a few spray bombs of paint from a friend last night. Perhaps I can use one or two on whatever I am getting. On a side note- I now have two new projects (64 TBolt and 66 Chevy 396) to put on the back burner very shortly. Later-

While mixing some paint today I noticed some small bits that didn't mix. This brought me to the thought of 1:1 painters using a cone shaped filter similar to the looks of a coffee filter to strain their paint. Anybody know of a similar thing for hobby use? Something suited for the size of airbrush paint jars? Where might I find something like it? Anybody use something like this? I'd hate to blow these little bits onto my paint job but I also don't want to strain out any pearl flakes. Later-

Found today. Surprised!!

That is beautiful. Great work. Reminds me of two different ones that kids I went to high school with had. Both the same color combo, yellow and white. Later-
