That's going to look good. Gotta get one of those. Later-

So, disaster today. I decided to redo the chrome on the bumpers with my new chrome pens. I had painted them with Spaz Stix that didn't turn out well. So this morning at work I put them in Lacquer thinner and then immediately had to deal with a roof leak. At 2 PM I came back to the shop to find this. http:// I had planned to finish this up this weekend. Now I will have to do some scratcbuilding. Oh well. Later-

How Do You Select Your Projects?
Modlbldr replied to afx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I wish that I decided! I always have multiple projects in the works. Then I get an idea for another and, like you said, it wont leave me alone. Next thing I know I am working on it and all other projects either get pushed aside completely or I work on them as fill in. I guess that's why I have a difficulty finishing one. As an example, I have a 56 TBird that I started (without any forethought) because I saw a drawing of one that I thought was cool. So, I dropped working on my 64 Chevy pickup for a while. Once I got to a point on the TBird where it wasn't as interesting anymore I started on a 34 Ford Flintstone resin. Back and forth from the TBird, 34 Ford, 64 Chevy, 66 El Camino, and now I am AGAIN working on a 67 GTX that I started in 2011! It's a vicious circle!!! But I enjoy it. Later- -

Very nice looking. I like the suspension mods. Can you tell me what tires those are from Scenes Unlimited? Later- -
Looks great. Nice custom work. Later-

Tonight's update. I got the chassis, suspension and exhaust completed tonight. Not much different than the previous pics except that the rear sits a bit lower, which is great! I was dreading chopping the windshield because I have never been able to do this without cracking the glass. Past the point of no return: http:// It didn't need much. http:// A little clean up and I think that will work. http:// http:// That's enough for tonight. As soon as I get my 1mm Molotow pen in I can finish the chrome in the interior and do a final polish for the shelf. Hopefully soon. Later-

Progress update. Got most of the chassis and exhaust done. Still need to glue the rear suspension in to get the rear down just a bit. http:// http:// http:// http:// Body, windshield frame and grille are just sitting in place. Later-

I would love to have one or a few of these. I have a friend who works for Parking Enforcement. I told her about these and she wants one for her parking diorama. Any help? Even a resin cast....... Later- -

Me too! Lol. Hope to get back on it soon. Later- -
Been working on this again today. Boring update. Been painting the chassis and suspension. Bumpers are sanded smooth and ready to chrome. I decided to just put an engine in that has the bottom detailed and glue the hood shut. I can't seem to find an engine that sits low enough to clear and I'm not willing to shell out money for another kit to get one that will fit. Hopefully some pictures tomorrow. Later-

The cracking could be residue or vapors from the stripper you used. I had the same problem when I re-primed after stripping with Easy Off even though I washed the body a couple of times with soap and water. Now I have to sand down the body on my Subaru build. On a side note, did you get the wheels you were looking for? I have some, if not. Later-

That rendering just looks right and you are doing some great work with this one. Keep it up. Later-

Ooh! That's nice Joe. I think I like it more than the silver one. Later-

Simply amazing! What clean and detailed work you have done. Superb! Later-

Thanks espo. Been bouncing between three different builds depending on my interest and motivation. Later-

Joe, The article is in the Dec 2004 Popular Hot Rodding. The owner is Kathy (and George) Lange. The car was built by Bobby Alloway's shop and won Street Machine of the Year for 2004. Later-

Worked in this project a bit last night. For a bit of back story, I started this project after seeing an artist's rendering in an older magazine that i had. After atarting the build I stumbled upon the finished car in another magazine. Here is the car that this build is "loosely" based on. http:// Finished the dash last night and made a shifter. http:// http://[/URL] http:// I have been modifying the bumpers. I removed the Connie section on the rear and made a full length smooth bumper. No pics of them yet because they are at work. Last night I realized that in order to get the front end to sit as low as I want I had to modify the front fender wells...aaarrg! Always something else. Later-

Wow! Love your build. The color is odd but looks great on this car because it is so different. Great work. Later-

Ooh! I want one....or two. Later-

Beautiful work on this one. Like everyone else, I love the paint color. Got a 69 to build and some early 70's ones. Makes me want to get on them. Later-

I like the idea and how this turned out. Love the paint scheme. My only advice would be to make the front and rear wheel wells match. Looks off without the wheel lips on the rear. Just my $.02. Great work otherwise. Later-

I can understand the cost x benefit difference, but I think that you would find a lot more uses for it. I have been using mine for quite a bit of detailing. I did the small ring in the center of the 56 Tbird taillights and just used it to chrome the turn signal stalk and steering wheel center. I can also see using it for the interior door handles and small bits. I only have the 2 mm tip but plan on getting the 1 mm soon. Later-
