New Bronco half cab available
Modlbldr replied to vintagercr's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I just ordered mine last night. Can't wait for it to show. Got to get a couple sets of the fender flares. When will they be available? Later- -
Just put in my order from Olson Brothers for a resin Bronco half cab. Paid the same price as I did for the kit but that's fine. Now to wait till they post up their fender flares again. Hint hint!! Later-

Great work! Someday I need to try my hand at some Super Stocks. Your work gets me motivated. Later-

Nice work on all of those. Your attention to detail is great. I'm partial to the 66 Impala and the 57 PU. I like the idea of the SS chassis. Later-

Thanks for the comments guys. James- Being productive is great. Being tired at work......not so much. Espo- The interior is a coat of grey primer with a dusting of Testors Dark Sea Blue from a bout a foot or more away. The exterior is a flat grey. I wanted a flat color on the body. In order to do the red decal stripes I had to spray a coat of clear gloss first, apply the decals and them spray the body with Dullcote. It turned out just like I had envisioned it. Later-

Thanks Dan. I can't wait to finally get this one finished. I had a good portion of the BMF done but after kicking it around for so long it looked pretty dull. I spent about an hour the other night stripping it all off to start over fresh. Later-

Nice idea on the reshaping of the side. Something I have not seen tried on these ol Mercs. It gives the rear fender area a look of a custom 53 Ford I have in the works. http://http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/rr225/Modlbldr/53 Ford Vicky/DSCN5358.jpg http://http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/rr225/Modlbldr/53 Ford Vicky/DSCN5197.jpg Keep up the good work! I'd love to see how this turns out. Later-

I can't seem to sleep and I have to be up at 3:30 AM to get ready for work. So what better thing to do at 10:00 PM than to be sitting at the bench! Most are aware that I have quite a few projects in the works. This is my 66 El Camino that I have had in progress for over a year. I'm getting close though. I just need to do the tons of BMF and put the interior and glass in and glue in the grille and rear bumper. Nothing major. http:// Body is pretty much stock with the exception of Pegasus wheels in red aluminum sleeves for a Hot Wheels red line wheel look and a hood bulge from a 68 Vette. http:// Interior is a mix of stock and 2006 Camaro parts. http:// Engine is from a 68 El Camino kit (I believe). Still need to add the forced air induction to the air box. Enjoy and let me know what you think. Later-

Very nice work. Glad to see that you are back at it. What brand and colors did you use on the body? They look Perfect! Later-

No base coat on it. The broken end is painted over the bare white styrene and the top is painted over the old kit chrome plating. Later-

Got a few things this week. Got my second 66 Bronco. What a great looking kit. Can't wait to start on one. http:// I bought a Molotow 2mm Liquid Chrome paint pen off of Amazon. Going to have to get a 1mm one now. http:// http:// Here is what the results of the paint looks like. I painted the broken end and top of the broken valve cover. Absolutely matches the kit chrome on the other valve cover. http:// http:// I also picked up this little 1/32 scale guy for $2.50. Not sure what I'll do with it but I couldn't leave it behind. http:// http:// Anybody have a chassis and wheels for this? Later-

Looking fantastic! Great polishing work. The body color is a nice choice. I like that chrome paint too. I just picked up some Spaz Stix chrome. I also got a Molotow brand paint pen that has the most amazing chrome I have ever used. They come in a 1mm, 2mm and 4mm tip. I bought the 2mm and am thinking of buying the 1mm. Great for touching up the sprue connecting points. Later-

Looking great. I like the trim work too. I added trim to my 64 Chevy. The sides look too bare without it. Later-- 20 replies

Bagged 64 Chevy C10
Modlbldr replied to Modlbldr's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks for the replies guys. It keeps me encouraged. I began lowering the front spindles yesterday. I figured it would be best to also raise the center cross member, so I removed it already to raise it. I have a bit of things going on the rest of this week, but I'll be back on it after that. Keep watching. Later- -

http:// Here is my side trim. Looks like the front of the door didnt get glued well enough. Ater looking i may not have enough space between the upper and lower trim. May have to remove it and start over on the bottom one. Later- -

I managed to get back on this one for a bit during lunch today. I have started making side trim for the body. I have the passenger side done but still need to do the driver's side. Pics of that later... I worked on lowering the front suspension but got a bit too low. http:// http:// Now the frame cross member is dragging. I think in order to fix it I will lower the front spindles 1/16 inch. Otherwise I'll have to raise the cross members. Plan A sounds easier. I'm going to try to get a bit further on this tonight. Thanks for the info. Can't wait to see more of the build. Later-
