94 Ford Lightning
Modlbldr replied to Modlbldr's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Today's progress report. Got the body primed but have a couple of small touchups to do and need to clean up the door lines. http:// http:// The chassis is done and I had added scratch built traction bars. http:// http:// I have been trying to come up with a good paint mix to make the wheels appear more like the 1:1. I think other than hitting the nuts with a chrome pen and the caps with a dot of black I am calling these done. http:// This morning I hit the turn signals with some R/C candy yellow and the headlights with a light coat of unstirred Pontiac engine blue. The grille is just sitting in place for the photo. http:// http:// Thanks for looking. I should be able to finish this in the next couple of weeks. Later- -

Thanks fellas. Shooting some primer on the bodywork today. Got a few small items to detail on the motor. Pics tomorrow. Later- -
I'm liking the idea and the looks of this one. I have one that I started ages ago that I have been thinking about lately. Does this kit come with the 5 spoke wheels? If so, are you interested in trading them off? Later-

94 Ford Lightning
Modlbldr replied to Modlbldr's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Ok. So major overlook on my part. I started this year's ago and just picked it back up and NEVER noticed that the 1:1 Lightning did not have the body molding. How did I overlook that? So I shaved the moldings and then coated the area with liquid cement and resanded to prevent ghosting. Here is where I'm at now. http:// http:// http:// Now back to the primer stage. Later- -

I believe those were the only colors. At least those are the only ones I ever saw. -
Got these yesterday. Any interest in trading for car/pickup kits? http:// http:// Later-

I have the 99 and want to build a replica of my uncle's black pickup but that build is a ways out. Later- -
94 Ford Lightning
Modlbldr replied to Modlbldr's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks Vince and Chuck. It's a pretty nice kit that goes together very easily. I modeled this one after one a guy I used to work with had. Never done a vehicle in white so it will fit nicely with my other builds on the shelf. I never noticed that the steering wheel was the older style. Good catch. More progress tomorrow. Later- -

I finished the interior earlier this summer. http:// http:// Chassis shot http:// Engine http:// http:// I shot a couple of light coats of Dul-Cote on the wheels to take down the shine. I may need to hit the top of the spokes with some silver type of paint to get them more like the stock look. http:// Really a relatively stock build. Just looking to finally get it done. Comments and criticisms welcomed. Later- -
I began this one, like most of my builds, quite a while ago and just recently figured that I didn't have much lift to do on it. So, up to the front of the line. Got another coat of primer on it this morning and just finished the third coat of paint. Got a bit of trash on the bed cover that I will sand out tomorrow and hit again. http:// http:// http:// http:// More to come. Later-

Another Revell Ford Bronco
Modlbldr replied to modelercarl's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I need to get me some of his parts. I could use the fender flares and the hitch and spare. I got the Olsen Bros half cab when they first came out. Been waiting to gather some more parts before I start. Your build looks good. Later- -
Does anybody know where I might order a 1 oz bottle of HOK Goldmine Pearl paint? A dealer or ?? I went to their site and the smallest I can find is 4 oz. I really dont need that much. Doing a project and I ran out. Really only need about 1/2 oz to finish. Any help would be great. Later-

Looks fantastic! The black and red combo is a great contrast. Too bad it has been hidden so long. Glad you showed it. Later-

Just got this rebuilder given to me. Never seen this version before. Any info out there? Gotta be Monogram due to the tire. Custom hood, taillights and headlights. Later- http:// http:// http://
