  1. I like any truck that has a crane on it. Nice build. Tim
  2. Here's a link to photos of lift axles: Lift Axles This link takes you to the main page of real photos - each album has dozens of photos with many chassis photos. Real Petes. Tim
  3. AMT Didn't change the W925 into the T600, Ertl did. Ertl owned the toolings and modified the AMT kit. Tim
  4. The air cleaner is getting it's air intake from under the hood, air heated by the heat of the engine compartment instead of the cold/snowy air. Tim
  5. Really nice !! A sibling to my LNG Pete 367 I did a while back. Tim
  6. Welcome back! You'll find it - if not, there are more kits to build. Tim
  7. The other Carlile trucks common to the series are KW T800 and T800W (wide front). Tim
  8. The numbers are the permits from each state giving the truck the authority to operate in a state. Back in the 60's and 70's truckers were required to obtain authority from each state to haul in. Tim
  9. Maybe Green Bay-Chicago was the name ? Green Bay-Chicago on Hanks Truck Pictures Tim Tim! My wife's grandpa had a cousin that drove out of Hudson Wi. for a company hat ran dedicated routes to Chicago and Milwaukee. They ran green Macks the ones with the offset cab. You wouldn't happen to remember the name of that company would you?
  10. There are no stupid questions. Lots of great answers to be found here - ask away ! Tim
  11. Thanks! I don't show it much as the bodywork is really poor. The grille really isn't that crisp and I think my headlamps are way too large. The G cab that Dave Natale has is much better. Tim
  12. Good use of the Pop's logos ! Tim
  13. Thanks! The tractor is a Mack G COE that I built several years ago using a Kenworth K123 cab I think. Tim
  14. Growing up in Wisconsin I always saw trucks on the road from the Diesel/Driving School in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. My family used to joke that is where I would be going to school someday. I found this photo on line (I don't know who the original photographer is) And thought it would be a good project to build - I had a partially started AMT Fruehauf van - even though I never remember the school having spread axle vans, this just has a late 60's look to it. After the white cured, I masked it off, sprayed another coat of white, then applied the red. I had very little bleed under of the red. The logos I printed on Bare Metal Foil white decal paper. The tractor in the photo isn't true to form, the school would have had White 7000, GMC Crackerboxes or White-Freightliners in the red/white scheme. The tractor in my photos is a Mack G daycab for Neuendorf out of Madison. I made that cab from a reworked AMT Kenworth K123 cab. More pics are on the workbench page of my site timstrucks.comor my FOTKI site. Thanks for looking! Tim
  15. That is a 385 standard hood, the 385-120 is the same length as the 377 kit, just "swoopier." Tim
  16. Outdoor pics make all the difference. Tim
  17. Nice work on the box art style stripes. Tim
  18. You better keep it under guard - someone has their eye on it. "It's just my size to roll around on the floor with."
