  1. I knew a guy who put a Chevy 350 in a Lloyd Alexander station wagon.
  2. Were these older kits, or the newer releases?
  3. Got this little tidbit for $3 at my secret model place.
  4. I stopped in my secret place for models and I scored a Tamiya kit of the Opel Astra V8 Coupe for $15, plus these little trinkets. Got this pile of parts for $2. Are these of any value?
  5. Just join our club, Auto Modeler's Group and you get a 15 to 20 % discount at Greenfield news And Hobby. We meet at Waterstone bank on S27th in Oak Creek. First Friday of every month at 7PM. 6560 S 27th St Oak Creek, WI 53154
  6. Here in Wisconsin we have Ernie Von Schleidorn. A German immigrant, he started selling VWs and later he sold Buicks. Now he sells several lines. His tag line on TV was "Who you know wants to buy a car?".

  8. I do not let things like this affect my purchasing habits. Those that do are spineless kneejerk reactionaries with no ability of creating their own choice.
  9. I'm thinking it's kept indoors in winter. She lives just north of us.
  10. Especially since this is a Wisconsin car...nicely kept.
  11. I saw about ten of these sitting in a parking lot in New Berlin Wisconsin at a company that makes promotional vehicles for companies.
  12. It actually was a model of what Unk's varmints from CarToons mag did to a speed shop's cart. That would have required a normal sized cart to make. The store promo cart is a monster.
  13. I don't know. I think even Buick was going to put the split window in the 72 Riv, but could not get past the same issues the original had...visibility out the rear back light.
  14. I must have had an early 66 wagon. It had the old style 287 in it. I know the newer style 304s and others should up later in those cars after 67. I had a 76 Hornet with the 304...man that car was fast.
  15. Some have said there were a very small number made as convertibles. I recall a Rebel done as a ragtop at a show many years ago. I know the 1967 year only had 1700 or there abouts.
  16. So viper could have been the new AMX had AMC had money to do that car.
  17. I learn something every time Harry posts. If you others can't deal with it, then don't read. My historical automotive library pretty much jibes with whatever Harry says. Everyone has opinions, so everyone needs to just chill. Someone else here had extensive knowledge of a certain make of car, but as usual, some of you got into a pissing match with him and now, I lost a great source of info because he or she won't post on it anymore.
  18. Yup, I look at the pic of the box and I think elegant couple out on the town...dining....opera...a Broadway show.
  19. The HHR is not an embarrassing car. I've owned two of them. One 2007 in Imperial Blue and the current Victory Red 2010. Both were panel versions. I'm sad that Chevy discontinued them. I would be buying my third now. They could have redesigned the front to better reflect current corporate looks and gotten a few more years out of a decent vehicle. Hey Harry, could you photoshop a current Chevy look to the front of one of these?
  20. Either that or a weird sense of humour, Doug.
  21. There isn't one close to me and we have a few really good LHSs here in the Milwaukee Metro area. If one was nearby, I might go...and I really do not care about their political agenda. If they have something I want when near one, I will buy it.
  22. https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTz1zzzsQ0RZD9WT3riyaiHatS3q20OQ-Cl5BCAekyXt8_fFaiG Every day cars are sometimes swoopy. My grandfather had one of these when new and I just loved it. It prompted me later to buy one of these. https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ-VZwXDPib0nDB2-zvsqF6CHypYgduCXzCGFuL8etCNsPQ9w_5ww
  23. 1954 ! My dad had a 54 Ford mainline and I owned a 54 Chevy BelAir 4 door. Like them both.
  24. The ZZR Spy car from Out of Sight in 1966.
  25. http://www.hubgarage.com/original.html?src=http://hubgarage.s3.amazonaws.com/photos/41309/D83K1499A.jpg This is a car built by Troy Trepanier for a friend of mine. Notice how the car has perfect lines. Just some subtle changes here and there. That said, not everyone is a Troy or Chip or Boyd. I like the yellow car.
