  1. Had the Edsel survived, this would be modern day Edsel
  2. 'tard toy?! I can't believe you said that, Monty.
  3. The Griffon from the anime series, The Big O.
  4. Corvette and Cobalt wheels do not interchange. Only the center badge does, which will wind up in my HHR (LOL) which does indeed use the Cobalt wheel.
  5. Because the Packers are a big deal here in Wisconsin, someone got 12-12-12 declared Aaron Rodgers day. He's the QB and his number is 12
  6. I for one liked the old El Caminos (GMC Sprint) and Rancheros. I even had hoped for the AMC Cowboy (Hornet based vehicle) which never happened except for two prototypes. I though the Dodge Rampage was nice as well, seeing I owned a 1984 Dodge Charger, which was a pretty good car till the bottom started to rust out here in Wisconsin. Now, I'm really hoping for the new Elcos. The original El Camino and Ranchero was intended for the surfer crowd and hobby farmers, or as the term was then, gentlemen farmers, and small business owners who wanted a light vehicle and had no real need for the full size trucks. When Datsun (Nissan) and Toyota and Isuzu (Chevy LUV, Isuzu P'UP) and Mazda (Ford Courier, Mazda B2000/Rotary) brought in there small pick up trucks, the coupe/pickup lost it's appeal. BTW I like the Holden ute.
  7. The DOH kit was based on a Dodge Daytona racer. It was a later body style, though.
  8. 911 Dodge van 71 Buick GSX Morgan Automotive Detail prewired distributor kit. 2 n 1 kit Model T and hot rod kit.
  9. On the Rambler, I would try and find a Johan kit of the same car. Not highly detailed, but it will net you an interior and chassis that you might be able to detail out a bit.
  10. I don't think that's what sjordan was talking about....snicker....
  11. Well you know Milwaukee, if you can get something for free, why buy!
  12. I stopped in a small town in Illinois called Braidwood. A small independent hardware store there had 2 Ertl farm wagon kits. I bought them. I still have them somewhere around here. They were the Massey versions molded in red. They have green ones for John Deere too.
  13. We don't even have Pep Boys near us, but we get their commercials on TV
  14. Muskego Wisconsin here.
  15. If one of us mooks wins this, here is a bit of advice. Hire an attorney to create a trust before you claim your winnings. Do not claim them yourself, let the lawyers do it. Creating a trust helps protect your privacy and allows you to help anyone if you want without having every rinky dink charity calling you on the phone pitching for money. You do not have to reveal your identity to the public, which is what will happen if you show up at the Lotto office in person.
  16. There have been liscensing agreements since the beginning. It was different years ago however. Some auto companies approached the model companies to make promos (JoHan, AMT, MPC) with the knowledge that perhaps kits would be developed from them. A liscense was just that, an agreement between two companies. As Don said, lawyers got involved or accountants thinking a bit of money can be made here. Also, companies are becoming increasingly protective of their property, trademarks and processes.
  17. I thought the wagons were built in Mojave, not South Bend.
  18. I sure have been seeing a lot of people write letters and making posts from Port Orchard. It must be an omen of some kind. I have a good friend who lives there. She is a writer, publisher, artist, archer, dog breeder. An all around rennaisance woman.
  19. I always thought speek was the plural to spook.
  20. I saw someone posting a bunch of kits they bought at Detroit this weekend. Amongst the pile of kits was a HHR rersin body. No response as to who made it yet.
  21. This is what i have for display. I was at a friends house and he had his models all displayed in nice cabinets, so I bought mine.
  22. Our model club had an auction today. I got a Lindberg Daytona Coupe built up with the wheels from a Fujimi GT40 already installed. It's primered and built clean so it shouldn't be too hard to make into something nice. Plus i got a daisy Duke Jeep and a Ford Thunderbolt Fairlane kit.
  23. Many on here have refered to the Volt as a hybrid. It is not. It's engine in no way is connected to the driving wheels. It operates when the battery power goes below set levels and turns a generator that allows for electricity to keep turning it's electric motor. A Prius can be driven on it's gas engine alone if the battery fails and it is directly connected to the drive train. Volt operates much the same way as a train locomotive. A locomotive's prime mover (engine) powers a generator that turns electric motors at the wheels. Also, these cars are indeed bought by people who want to be noticed as driving such cars, which is why you hardly notice the Camry hybrid for what it is...it's just another Toyota Camry.
