  1. Yes Art. Niche companies (yes, hobby manufacturers are niche companies) tend to be run by true believers. Not always, but most are. It's too bad that they fell into the "We are Wally World and you will like it" retailing mentality. Thank God our local (Milwaukee) LHSs are doing well.
  2. That's one heck of a way to cure one of heights, Brizio.
  3. Looks nice when it's in the sunlight.
  4. They aren't going to make it as far as I know. I see Revell is producing the Corvettes Academy tooled. That's gonna be kinda hard since Lindberg's kit is 1/32nd scale.
  5. Interesting. Japan's automotive history goes back a lot further and there has been some interesting things out of japan. http://www.toyota.co.jp/Museum/data_e/a03_08_7_3.html http://www.toyota.co.jp/Museum/data_e/a03_08_2_1.html http://www.toyota.co.jp/Museum/data_e/a03_08_3_3.html http://www.toyota.co.jp/Museum/data_e/a03_08_3_1.html http://www.toyota.co.jp/Museum/data_e/a03_13_1_7.html
  6. Actually, Lindberg and some selected Monogram subjects are made in teh US
  7. OK. The link works for me and I don't know how to actually post a pic. The usual tricks wouldn't work. The only differences will be the body and the interior. Actually, the Aerosedan interior will fit too. There will also be a woody trim option. Kit should be here at year's end. Galaxie is one guy, not some huge company with tons of cash.
  8. Not really sure, but this car might be the same car I saw a couple of years ago in a local private collection. My boss recently told me that the people that owned the collection were selling off most of it. You had to be invited to see the collection. They had a really awesome collection of cars, wooden power boats, player pianos, and nickelodeons ( a precursor to juke boxes).
  9. No Packard dies were ever sent to the Soviet Union. They were good at copying our designs however. The gas transporter is most likely an Isuzu.
  10. Here is the coupe from Galaxie.

  12. I'm gonna get to meet Stacy David this coming Saturday. I'll be doing DJ work at Wisconsin Hot Rod Radio's 5th anniversary of the show. He's one of the guests. You could listen to this show every Saturday Morning at 9AM on 1340 Joy AM. Go to this web site and you can listen live by clicking the link, or you can go into the archives and listen to past shows. Capt. Bob & Arlo have interviewed many well known people over the years, including Jay Leno, Gene Winfield and many others in the hotrod realm. They even have a model car session sometimes with master builder Al Stout. I'v even been interviewed as car artist and car show DJ. http://www.wisconsinhotrodradio.com/
  13. Some think that the colder air along the lake does help to break up the warmer air in the tornadic event. That was proved false a few years ago as mentioned in my quote in the post above. The city of Saint Francis is on the lake.
  14. You forgot about the tornado in St Francis a few years ago?
  15. I never asked about that, but you will get the separate woody trim if you wish to do one that way. I'm assuming those PE parts will be in the kit. @Austin, there are several nicely done Fords out there by other makers. Galaxie is a small "garage industry" that will most likely choose subjects not done elsewhere. Gary hopes that this version will make some money to allow new projects. Revell's new 57 Ford should please you.
  16. I saw Gary Schmidt today and he had the latest test shot of the 1948 Chevy Coupe kit. Sorry, no pics yet but I'm awaiting some to be emailed to me. The car looked really nice. We should see this new Galaxie Kit sometime late in the year.
  17. I stand corrected sir, You are right. Me bad. Me go stand in corner now.
  18. I usually don't side with the spelling and grammar police on here, but one word just grinds my mind. What you think is wala, whalla, or wahla is in fact spelled "viola". It's french...learn it...use it!
  19. Maybe I might go but the Nascar Diecast Hunter guys really move slowly through the aisles
  20. I was a big karaoke fan and went by the name of Captain Air Guitar (a handle a really cute female Karaoke host gave me). Somewhere along the line it changed to Lord Air Guitar. I eventually went into DJing car shows and the Air Gtar Entertainment company was born. Spelled that way because of the amount of letters you are allowed on a license plate. Here is my first DJ hauler And my second hauler And my latest hauler See a pattern here? LOL. The avatar is a shot from my fave anime, InuYasha. The girl is kagome and the boy is the half demon InuYasha. He is a dog demon and Inu is the japanese word for dog.
  21. I had a diecast red Coupe. A guy that owns a coupe and a roadster both built by Factory 5, told me there was no red Daytona. Now I can give him the business about it. Not to worry, he's a friend and has a sense of humor concerning his cars. He even lets kids climb in them at shows.
  22. Ta me ya. A Japanese woman at my work taught me the pronunciation after I tried to impress her with my Japanese speaking skill. She did translate some Japanese only kit instructions for me too. And yes, Porsche has that little emphasis on the e at the end, just like the fire suppresion and fire alarm company called Kidde. Always thought the e was silent but it's pronounced kidduh.
  23. Would still like to see the shiny you made.
  24. Hang in there, ranma. Lots of good people on this forum who have your back and are willing to help if they can.
