  1. Heller tooling is correct. If one uses care, they build up into nice models. Others in the series are the Alpine/Gordini set, and the Brabham Cosworth F III / Matra Cosworth F II. All Heller kits reboxed by AMT. I have the Porsche minus the Ferrari and the Alpine minus the Gordini and both open wheel cars in the Brabham/Matra set.
  2. Over Christmas I got a Revell 1940 Ford Coupe, Munster's Drag-ula, XXX Corvette.....awesome!
  3. I know one was offered. I believe Revell did it. not sure of the scale. I know the Tamiya is 1/6 scale. I searched eBay for the Trail 70 and none exist there. I would study pics of actual Trail 70s and scratch build the different parts or modify existing ones. Decals might require you to create art and print on decal paper.
  4. My opinion of time is scale does not matter, it's constant. However, the model railroad guys who run their layouts like real trains have special clocks that are sped up. So, therefore they are scaling time.
  5. Terry, you definitely married above your pay grade. congrats to you both.
  6. Okaaaaaay. Don't go putting yer eye out with that pointy stick
  7. Corvair Jim, you are correct in your facts. Especially the Ford Mustang scenario. I am also sure the Camaro which debuted in 67 also had a lot to do with GMs decision to put the Corvair to rest. About Eddie Kovacs, the car was secondary to the cause of the crash. Speed, wet pavement (it had rained), alcohol and some say he was also trying to light his cigar while negotiating the turn. Nader's problem with GM initially was because they (GM) tried to dirty his image. I put Nader in the same class as Micheal Moore, and those of his ilk.
  8. I look all over for those, but they are hard to find. I suppose when I amass all the kits in that series, Revell will see fit to release them.
  9. I do not know how to play guitar, but I have a couple of low end guitars I have collected. When I used to do karaoke in the 80s and 90s, I went by my user name (that's where that came from) and did insane air guitar moves. People started bringing me cheapo guitars and other instruments. I have a Hy-Lo Fender copy that actually sounds nice and an Aria Pro XX in black (Vee shaped body). I also had a fiddle. I had one other guitar that got a cracked neck when some drunk at the bar grabbed it and tried to do the "smash the guitar at the end of the song" routine. I almost went to jail that night.
  10. Thinned out, the latex is perfect for doing whitewalls on tires. One of the few paints that will actually dry on rubber or vinyl.
  11. I went to a small swap meet in Milwaukee yesterday, found a 55 Ford Panel with Harley decals still sealed and an original 1966 Buick Wildcat kit. Box is real nice and still had both hoods on the kit but was missing the road wheels and the tires...but that is not a deal breaker as I have those around here somewhere. Basically jut liked the box and I may restore the Buick.
  12. Ya know, when I get to that point where I am so tinkled off that I want to break things, I just set it aside, open a nice Single Malt Scotch and turn on the Pink Floyd. Soon the crisis is averted and I can either start again or go to sleep.
  13. This is pretty good stuff. I don't think he has a web site but does have email and you can clearly see his phone number on the bottle. He's a member of our model Car club.
  14. Never knew Kohl's had kits....and there is one within walking distance from my apartment.
  15. Jeff, your first car and the last car resemble currently designed concepts. You were definitely ahead of your time.
  16. Nice Hudson. Nice to see a hot rod version. I can post pics on here, but I've forgotten how to put new ones on my P-bucket.
  17. Wow, I could use that. But the black bumper look makes it look cheap.
  18. put amber bulbs in your turn signals. That would be legal. I put those in my 54 Chevy when I lived there.
  19. Hmmm. I just posted one sentence. After looking it over, I see it is not my grammar you are referring to.
  20. Got some stuff from an estate sale. AMT double kit of the Matra and Brabham open wheel kit (Heller tool) Heller Porsche 917 Monogram Bugatti open wheel car MPC 1928 Lincoln 2 door roadster.
  21. Tongue in cheek sequence of prep process 1. Go on forum and find kit review of kit considered. 2. Read gripes on how character line is one scale millimeter off on one side. 3. Read seven more pages of modellers bashing original poster about how they should be happy the maker decided to tool kit at all. 4. Read seven more pages of people bashing the first seven. 5. PM people about kit because mods have shut down the thread. 6. Do research on real car and find that character line is off one millimeter, but only on base model where trim doesn't cover the flaw. 7. Finally go to hobby shop and buy model. 8. Open kit and examine, finding yourself real happy you bought this model. 9. Resume accepted building practices.
  22. So if the cereal box has a picture of a bowl of cereal with milk and fruit, the bowl, milk and fruit should also be in the box?
  23. The State Of California contains chemicals which are known to the state of Wisconsin to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. This will now be placed on every product I sell.
