Many years ago, my grandpa drove around his 1975 Scout II until one day he rolled it. Now it's sitting in his yard rusting away. I decided to take AMT's kit, and recreate his Scout when it was in its glory days.
Here is what it currently looks like:
What I did to modify the kit was: remove lower molding (didn't have time to recreate the actual upper molding), used the wheels and tires from the '72 Blazer kit to simulate the wheel covers, added an antenna, sun visors, heater blower, radiator and washer reservoirs, master cylinder and brake booster, plug wires, more detailed air cleaner, correct accessory belt arrangement with power steering pump, vent window trim for rear quarter-windows, flip forward hood, cut out the door windows for a clearer view of the interior, installed the lowback seats from the CJ-7 kit, and of course 1975-correct grille (which includes clear headlight lenses). The exterior green on the model is somewhat lighter than the actual green on the 1:1, but I figured it would help the model pop a bit. (Sorry for the blurry pics, my camera wasn't cooperating)
I plan on placing the model in a display case and setting it up at my grandparent's house.
Enjoy!
