  1. I have one and it's currently in progress. It has some parts that really need mold lines removed, as well as some such as the hood and trunk lid that need styrene added.
  2. I don't see why they couldn't do one of the early 2000's model, since it would be a vehicle that could be released in several different versions. They may not be built today, but they are still relevant in the off road and mini truck scenes.
  3. He might be able to get a set of Centerline wheels and just sand off the outer set of bolts.
  4. Looks like most are either Explorers or Escapes, neither of which are available in plastic. What you could do is use the Expedition kit, or one of the 90's AMT Explorer kits. It appears that the one Expedition in the pictures uses the stock wheels, which can be found in one version of the kit, or in the F150 kits.
  5. I'd suggest messaging ajwheels, he should be able to answer or pass on your questions.
  6. The only things I'm not really fond of are the finicky rear window and tailgate, and the tires.
  7. I will say that although tuners aren't my cup of tea in the real world, I enjoy looking at all builds in the scale world regardless of genre.
  8. So have you gotten any further on this or is still packed away?
  9. One of the older releases, either the Camaro, Corvette, or Bel Air (all came with them). Wish they would have kept them in for the rerelease.
  10. What's the matter with expecting more accuracy in the age of 3D scanning and CAD drawings? If video game companies can recreate cars in a digital form that are accurate down to the warning labels, then it seems that a company that makes physical 3D representations could create something that has at the very least the same dimensions as the 1:1, but correctly scaled down.
  11. Well don't worry anymore, if you haven't seen yet, they're rereleasing this kit in January!
  12. Gotcha, just looked at their site and based on their 1:18 diecast prices, I wonder how much it will cost?
  13. What? A 1/12 2015 Mustang? I have to get me one of those! The fact that it's full detail (compared to Revell's 1/12 'Stang) is just the icing on the cake!
  14. Looks like Round 2 will be bringing out the old AMT/MPC 1972 Blazer kit sometime in January (pic from Ihobby announcement thread), and it will be the Crew Chief version (always wondered why the hard hats and toolbox were in the Model King release ). The kit certainly isn't the greatest in terms of molding, but it is a fun kit to build.
  15. Sounds like me I seem to be collecting kits rather than building them!
  16. I'm working on the rerelease of the opening-everything Revell '57 Bel Air and it definitely is a bit of a challenge to build. Plenty of flash, poorly molded in some spots, two-piece parts not quite lining up, finicky to assemble, along with gaps aplenty. Its not a horrible kit though, and at least now comes with one piece tires.
  17. While it was molded well and was of a new subject, I believe that with it being of a two year old subject along with it building more like a scaled up 1/24th kit (not even steerable wheels?) probably contributed heavily to the lackluster reception.
  18. Would one of the new parts potentially be an American style hitchplate for the Italeri trucks?
  19. In most cases, they have a key that can be ejected from the fob in case the battery dies in the car or fob. Plus, people usually have at least a house key on their keychain as well.
  20. Chassis is painted metallic blue, all that's left is to paint the airbags black and do some detail painting.
  21. I haven't gotten to the sleeper yet, still trying to get the chassis painted (had bad paint, trying something else). When I do though, I'll probably just use sheet styrene since I don't have any extra sleepers to use to extend it.
  22. Been a bit slow moving since I'm building around work and homework. Right now I'm trying to get the chassis completely assembled so I can paint it all at once like it's done at the factory. I've also got the brakes/hubs mounted to the axles that came with the wheels. Here's the frame with the air tanks and suspension installed. I filled in the rear mudflap mounts and the unused fuel tank holes (had to drill out different holes since the mounts will be moved back a bit). Axles and front spindles with parts from Class A resins.
  23. Yeah that's the one I referenced in the first post. It has some inaccuracies as well as some build issues that were the reason I'm trying to do so much research.
  24. Yeah that's where my references have come from too. I'm still trying to figure out how to do the decals, though I think the logo will be the toughest part. I think there might be some sort of merchandise in Google images that it could be pulled from. What I did was watch the movie using VLC media player, and it allows you to take screenshots. If you get the blu-ray version, then you'd have the best clarity.
