69 Chevy Camaro Grill Color?
Jordan White replied to slusher's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Here's a good reference I found when doing research for a build. http://www.camaros.org/exterior.shtml#1969Grille -
White letter tire decal

Indycal is the site I bought mine from. These are the ones I used: http://www.indycals.net/decals/tires/bptiredecals.html I went with the 1/24 scale decals, though you could possibly go with the 1/20 if you want them a bit larger. Here's a pic for an example (I had to switch sides of the tires with the decals so that's why they aren't sitting as well as they should be). If you're doing them on the Italeri tires, it's easiest to put them on the side with no sidewall details. -

I just got myself a set of larger scale F1 tire decals. -
Hobby Shops... Are They Viable Today?
Jordan White replied to Tom Geiger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Where I am, there is a small selection of good hobby shops left. When I was younger, I knew of 2 that I always wanted to visit when we were in the area. One was a Hobbytown, the other I can't recall the name. They both had excellent kit selections, though I believe maybe the HT more so. A little later on, the one closed leaving HT as the only one I knew. Soon after that, the HT closed and I found another one closer to where we lived. That one also had a great selection of kits, so I would go quite a bit. Then a few years back I found a store even closer to me (King Kong Hobbies) that has an okay selection (much better than the Micheal's in the area, Walmart has no kits, and there are no Hobby Lobbys here (though the one I've been to in Michigan had the same selection as Micheal's)), but still not as good as the HT. Of course, just recently, that HT closed (or moved, I'm not positive on that) and another opened in the same town, but down the road and in a smaller shop. This shop has a small selection similar to King Kong, albeit with a few more options. Luckily for me though, I found two other places in the Cities that have good reviews, Hub Hobby and Scale Model Supplies (the latter of which has the largest kit selection in a store that I've ever seen). They are both a bit of a drive, a little over a half hour, but I do enjoy going to them from time to time. The thing is though, they don't usually have the kits I want to build, unless it's a newer kit or perhaps one I didn't know about. Most of the time I'm finding kits online that appeal to me (mostly Japanese kits and older AMT kits). It's really a draw as to where I get kits from, since on the one hand local stores allow you to see the kit in person and take it home right away, while on the other hand online purchases allow you maybe a better selection, lower costs (especially with eBay), and the ability to purchase in the comfort of your own home. Just my observations. -
Just looked at their website, and they have it listed as a preorder right now.
-
Perhaps they have early stock, perhaps they made a mistake like Hobbylinc.
-
I figure its always best to assume the worst and be surprised when you find they did in fact include them.
-
There's no mention of the custom wheels from past issues, so I would assume they're out.
-
For some reason I'm not seeing these pics on their Facebook page. It is unfortunate that they didn't bother to include larger 4-wheel disc brakes to go with the larger wheels.
-
The descriptions I've seen say that the stock wheels and tires are included.
-
Yeah you'd think that's the one part they would want to show off.

How many of you tare down old builds ?
Jordan White replied to greymack's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I do on occasion, mostly when its a poorer build I did and its a kit that's hard to find now. I also will occasionally pull parts off older builds. -
Ah ok, last I checked there they still had the drawing posted.
-
Where did you find the pic Casey? Are there any better ones of the wheels?
-
Like I did say, hobbylinc says they're in stock, I ordered one, and it had an expected arrival date around the 16th or so. I'll let you know if it shows as shipped within the next couple days.
-
Hobbylinc claims that they're in stock, so I'm going to order one and see what happens. I would have ordered there regardless since they have such good deals on kits.
-
True but it would be nice to see anyways to see the wheels/tires they are using and what (if anything) else they're throwing in. Guess I'll just have to wait until I have the kit in my hands.
-
Funny how this kit is less than a month out from being in stores and there has been nothing in terms of kit photos, only a description of some key parts included in the kit.
-
Would be nice if someone would put out a US spec '68-'70 sedan (unless there's one that I don't know of.)
-
So when are they going to display their December releases?
-
Another crazy ebay listing...

I've seen those online elsewhere, they're similar to what you'd see in the modeling magazines. -
Just we thought it was over! ORANGE COUNTY CHOPPERS
Jordan White replied to slusher's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I third Monster Garage, there was the occasional drama but Jesse seemed to break it up quickly since he wanted the show to be about the building and to complete the challenge. Wheeler Dealers is another of my faves simply because theres no drama, plenty of cool cars from around the world, and they actually show most of the work being completed.
