I don't get it!
Jordan White replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Separation of subjects is not a bad thing. If everything was thrown into one area, like at the Fine Scale Modeler forums, then topics get posted quickly enough where many topics get swept off the front page in a matter of an hour or so. There are people who won't look past the first page, and people who will complain that their topic isn't on the first page (or will continually bump it up so it will be). Sure you could do the "view new content" button, but it's a pain to have to press it every time you finish reading a topic. Also, if you're like me and interesting in mainly just trucks/SUVs, or big boyz, or another topic, then it's nice having them separate. Yes, people will say "well why not look at everything!?" to which I say, I don't want to. Some stuff just is not interesting to me, like race cars and drag cars. Sure I'll look at them at shows, but you can appreciate them better in person. I do sort of agree that it is odd having the general area right at the top, but it's a popular area so I can see why it is there. It is preferable to have it that way, however if people would be smart about how they create their titles, then this wouldn't be necessary. If it's a wanted request, put WANTED along with a specific item (or generalized items if there's more than one) so people know without having to open the thread. If it's something to trade, and it's more than one kit (put in title), than say that there are multiple kits (most people seem to already). -

At least I know how to spell "constantly" correctly. -
Haha of course, though it certainly won't be built stock!

Tow Rig and trailer Community Build?
Jordan White replied to DailyGrindCustoms's topic in Community Builds
Looking good so far! I'll probably start on mine soon, I'm basically just trying to figure out the wheel and tire combo I want to use. -
Favorite Scale to Build in?
Jordan White replied to Jordan White's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is a valid point. I just figured that most people have a favorite that they like to build in, for one reason or another (that's not to say it's the only scale they build in). -
Here's some pics of how the engine and trans fit in the subframe (before it was wired).

Thanks guys! The exhaust was easy for the most part, since it was kit parts (namely the muffler/tips, and the pipe going to the forward manifold). The toughest part was creating the pipe section between the rear manifold and the muffler.

Yeah I thought it would look good against the red.

I built this model for the Cannonball Run build, so it has more power and fuel capacity over the basic car (along with a V8 swap of course). Specs: -Chevy 350 V8 with 4-bbl carb making around 300hp -Stock 4-speed manual -Uprated sway bars and shocks -Extra 15 gallon fuel tank in place of rear storage space -Nismo 17 wheels and high-performance tires -Custom paint job of Ford Merlot Red metallic and gold accents

Build completed! Posted in under glass.

Favorite Scale to Build in?

I know, but then I'd have to remove one of the other options! -

I've changed the poll to allow for multiple choices. -
Favorite Scale to Build in?

Sorry for not putting more options in the poll, but the site only allowed for 5 options, and I figured I would do the more popular sizes. -
Favorite Scale to Build in?
Jordan White posted a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
As the title states, what is your favorite scale that you like to build in? I'm not necessarily asking what scale you build the most, but rather what scale do you get the most enjoyment out of. Personally, I love 1/12 scale since it allows for good detail, ease of dimension transfer from a 1:1 vehicle, and still takes up not that much shelf space. -
Looks good with the white wheels and white letter tires. I've always wanted to get a 1:1 and do a V8 swap, but it's not easy since I don't have a garage to work in!

It'll help with the traction.

Haha love the supercharged version! Alright, I finally got paint on the body. It's Ford Merlot red metallic with gold lower/basecoat. Here you can see I turned the rear storage compartment into a secondary fuel tank, I still have to add the filler cap.

Scale Question
Jordan White replied to CrazyGirl's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Personally, I think that 1/24 scale (as well as 1/12 scale) are the optimal sizes when you want to transfer dimensions between the model and a real vehicle (or vice versa), since the scaling is easy to do with a standard ruler. -
1/25 Revell GMC Syclone Reissue?
Jordan White replied to Jared Roach's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
So soon? Wonder if they weren't selling as well as Revell had hoped. I'll have to pick up a few then.
