Love it! I've always wanted to do a Blair's car, but still looking for decals. I spent many a hard-earned dollar at Blair's way back when, and I'd like to commemorate that someday. Where did you get the decals? I like the dollar sign/S...around Pasadena the owner was lovingly known as "Dollar Don" Blair.

OK, guys, this is great--lots of good info that I need and will use. One other question, though: what if my metallic color has imperfections? I paint outside, and almost always I find everything from lint and specks of dirt to actual bugs in my paint. What should I do with that? Or for that matter, with the Testors two-step paint as advised above? Again, thanks!

The colors are Tamiya gloss black, and Testors Phoenician Yellow and Artesian Turquoise (a metallic).

I'm new to the whole process of wet sanding my paint jobs, and I have a question. I painted three models Saturday, 1/25, all lacquer, one in Tamiya and two in Testors spray can colors. How long would you all suggest for drying time before I tackle sanding? Currently they're residing in a plastic storage bin, room temperature. Thanks, Jim

After polishing with the Novus system, will I have any problems brush painting details, attaching parts with glue, or applying decals? Or doing anything else to the polished body, for that matter... will it damage already brush painted details? Thanks,

I'm building a Revell '57 Chevy, and I want to use the stock hub caps included with the utility sedan version. I don't want to use the steel wheels provided in the kit, because to my eye they are not deep enough, and make the cap sit almost beyond the rim. My problem is that I can't find wheels that provide the depth I'm looking for, and that have a center section as small as the Revell hub caps. The wheels in the Revell '57 Ford are close, but even they have a center section that is bigger than the Chevy hub caps, and are also sort of shallow. I've looked at Mopar wheels from a few online vendors, and all I've seen so far seem to have the right size center section, but they look like, well, Mopar wheels, and not Chevrolet. I know this is kind of a specific question, but has anyone out there found a solution for this problem? I'd welcome any ideas...thanks. Jim

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...really fantastic work, and for a great reason. Congratulations on a terrific build!

That is crazy...such good looking cars, too.

Did anyone ever make a kit of the 2003-04 Mustang Mach 1?

Very nice!

1965 Comet Caliente , bright red with 5-spoke mags, waiting for some glass work in Selma, TX. Looked great! Can't wait, Moebius!! -
I was working on a project this evening, digging around for brush paint, and found a jar of Pactra Oxide Orange M9, scale model flat, "a paint for authentic realism"! It's one of those large round jars, approximately the size of Testors brush paints, and it's still GOOD! Looking around a little more, I found a jar of Artillery Olive, and a jar without a label, but I think I remember it being Camouflage Gray. I remember mixing color into it to come up with haze gray (this was 1973 and I was just out of the Navy) for a ship model. I actually think the orange dates from the mid 60s, back when I was attempting those old Revell 1955, 1956. 1957 Chevy models. It's amazing to me that paint this old can still be good--where's Pactra when we need them? Anybody else got any miracles still sitting around?

Take a bow, my friend, take a bow. Very cool! -
Noticed today that what used to be Westley's Bleche White is now Black Magic Bleche White, with a new formula. Has anyone tried this new formula to strip paint from painted model bodies? Thought I'd see what you all know before I give it a try...

Remind me, everybody--can enamel be sprayed over lacquer? I had two botched paint jobs yesterday, both using Testors Custom Lacquer System (those are the spray cans mixed to factory colors). In both cases the cans began spitting out blobs of paint, even though I'd warmed both in warm water and shaken both for several minutes. Now I think I'll go back to enamel, something I've always had better luck with. So I guess I have two questions--can enamel be put over lacquer, and what do you all do when the can goes crazy on you like mine did?

That's one good looking Willys! I really like the paint, too--I've got to get me some of that and try it on something. Did you use a color base coat? Again, congrats on a great model!

Saw a slinky black Maserati coupe on north 1604 in San Antonio over the weekend. Good looking car, but it was kinda dirty and had a grievous dent between the driver's door and the rear wheel well. At the other end of the spectrum, I recently spotted a Buick Apollo in a ride-share parking lot under an I-35 overpass. That was worth a double take... -

Well, we're gonna need something better than a blurry photo, like maybe a shoe size...

Joe, I'm sure you're trying to make a point here, but I think you've lost your "focus". Take a deep breath, and try again, OK?
