  1. Very pretty--the color suits the car very well.
  2. Whoa...now that is FINE!!
  3. Wow! Very nice!! Looks great from all angles.
  4. Has anyone ever seen a source for '66 Oldsmobile 442 (dog dish) hub caps ? I could use the Revell '69 Nova pieces, but they seem kind of oversize to me, and I'd really like to find the right thing. Any ideas?
  5. Great show...great variety of cars. Lots of inspiration, too! Thanks!
  6. I like those shackles...good work!
  7. That color came out really nice! Great looking model!
  8. you're right, there were some really nice cars there; thanks for posting! I think I liked the yellow Dart the most...
  9. Thanks, Greg. My old chief in the Navy said that you can learn something new everyday!
  10. 1963 1/2 Falcon hardtops were called "scatbacks", along with the Galaxie hardtops. Do we have a theme here?
  11. I had to laugh when I read your story--I know it's not funny, but you do have a way with words. We've all been there, but speaking for myself, I've never had as many problems as you with a build, or had the possessed model turn out so well. That's a great looking Plymouth!!
  12. Exceptional model! The color seems to underscore the elegance of the car's lines...incredible work!!
  13. Very sharp! Like Harry, I like the header caps, especially the one bolt keeping 'em on and out of the way...that's a really nice touch!
  14. If you're driving between Salt Lake and Denver, and you pass through Grand Junction, Colorado on Interstate 70, stop at Hobby Hut Models on N. 12th St. in GJ. I used to go there as often as I could when I lived near Grand Junction, and recommend it highly. Great selection of most everything!
  15. To eliminate a seller from your eBay results, find the blue box that says "search" at the top right of the page, and click the word "advanced" that is to the right of that, in smaller letters. That takes you to a new page where you can customize your searches. Drop to the bottom of that page, to the section that's titled "sellers", Click the box that says "only show items from",click the "specific sellers" button, then hit the arrow to the right of "include", highlight "exclude" from the drop down results (the only other choice given), then type in the name of the seller you want to exclude in the box to the right. Last step is to click "search" at the bottom of the advanced page. If all goes according to plan, in the category "parts", you'll have excluded about 25% of the listings (if we're all talking about the same seller!).
  16. That's why I filter out his listings!
  17. Check with Best Model Car Parts. A few years ago he made me a bunch of plates that I requested--my former rides, friend's rides, etc. Not that expensive, either. Email him and ask...
  18. I'm hoping someone will do decals for the Fenner Tubbs SS/A driven by Joe Smith. Won the '65 Super Stock World Championship at the NHRA World Finals at Tulsa with that car.
  19. Just found it at my local Hobbytown. Got yard work to do before I can open it, though.
  20. I entered two models once, and I doubt I'll do it again. On the other hand, I do have a "K stock" class winner trophy from Irwindale Raceway I won back in 1967, around here somewhere.
  21. You might try the old spoon tests with various Testors blues over a black base...
  22. I'm looking for opinions from those of you who have tried Tamiya Pearl Clear. I'd like to hear your impressions of how it looks, and what colors you've sprayed it over. I'm also interested in drying times between color coats and clear, and generally any helpful ideas about the paint. Thanks, Jim
  23. Allen: thanks! Looks like what I need, and I've just ordered the set. Now I'll have the console and stock seats, and I won't have to use the original stuff that's all painted in a VERY pleasing combo of olive drab and lime green(???), using at least a pint of paint from what I can tell. Again, THANKS! Jim
  24. A while back (maybe a couple of years), someone was selling on eBay resin 1/25 scale 1967 or 1968 Cougar bucket seats with center console. Can anyone point me to whoever this was, or another source for Cougar seats? I'm trying to restore a poorly built AMT model of a '68, that was built with the custom stuff. Thanks, Jim
