  1. Dang. I love checking out your builds, and I was really interested in this one, seeming to be so far outside your usual interests. Ya got me good!! Is it a "classic" or "new" beetle? I can't tell from the angle...
  2. Thanks, Mike. I was hoping the convertible had one, but such is life.
  3. I don't have the instructions anymore, and I can't remember--does the Revell 1948 Ford convertible Pro Modeler kit have a dropped front axle? I remember the Pro Modeler had some custom parts, but did it have a dropped front axle? I tried to find the website with model instructions, but no luck. Thanks to all of you who have a better memory than me! Jim
  4. VERY nice!!
  5. I'm considering purchasing some of the Fireball Modelworks pieces for the new Revell Bronco, and I've got a couple questions. I'm curious if anyone here has tried the Fireball 3.5" lift kit, and how well the pieces fit and how the Bronco looked upon completion. Also, I'm curious how tall the model is with that lift kit used--I put all my completed models (few as they are) in AMT show cases, and I'd like to know if the lifted Bronco will fit in one? Thanks in advance! Jim
  6. Just to add another twist...I got out my Bare-Metal foil tonight, just to check it out. I'm in that "getting ready to start getting ready" mode. The first sentence in the instructions: "Bare-Metal is not meant to stick to a slick surface.". Guess I'll just try it and see what happens. I've always got chrome silver paint for a backup.
  7. Miller Motors knew "cool", didn't they? That is a nifty looking wrecker! ...and thanks to Andy for finding and posting pictures of that fine looking wrecker.
  8. Given some of my paint jobs, I think I'm going to have to start inserting "wet sanding" between paint and clear coat. Thanks to all for the tips! Jim
  9. I should have specified--my bad. I'm using Novus #2.
  10. Great job...great restoration/transformation!
  11. What's the best sequence: polish then foil, or foil then polish? Or does it matter? I don't have anything to experiment on, and I'm wondering if foil will adhere to a polished body, and for that matter what the polishing process will do to applied foil. Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Jim
  12. Not sure what you're doing, but try Testors "Aircraft interior black". I use the acrylic version, and it goes on virtually without brush marks, and it's just a touch lighter than black. I like it.
  13. You can say that again!!!
  14. VERY nice! Love the white tires!
  15. Man, that looks lean AND mean! Beautiful!
  16. How about a 1/25th '64 Chevelle Malibu SS? Stock.
  17. I second, or third, the Scenes Unlimited suggestion. I also like the chrome wheels in the Lindberg Maverick '64 Dodge SS. They look good to my eye, with the smaller center section typical of Chrysler wheels (or Ford for that matter), and the rears are slightly wider than the fronts.
  18. You must be a magician! That's a heck of a makeover! Beautiful!!
  19. Pie crust slicks, outside rear view mirrors, decent looking floor shifters, American five spoke mags, and specific tires I've identified as useful for a big/little set up.
  20. Ya done good! I like the color, and the stance is perfect. It's hard to beat a well-built Road Runner, like yours.
  21. Recently thought of a few more I'd like to see in 1/25, in Revell/Moebius quality: a 1965 Dodge Dart GT, a 1970-73 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, 1965-66 Mustang 2+2 GT, and a 1968 Plymouth Barracuda hardtop. I'm sure I'll think of more, but for now this is enough butting my head against a wall.
  22. Man, that's some nice work! Excellent!!
  23. Really like that! What color and paint did you use?
  24. Like Phil above, I had no idea of this race car. Pretty cool. You did a great job of reproducing it!
