It's good to have another VW nut here .. )) This is a '53 I had while living in Germany This '68 came with my wife .. My Dad's '56 Kombi ... still waiting for a repaint. This is the '69 I had You may have noticed I like building cars I've owned. I also move at my own pace and things take years to finish, but I enjoy working on them more than finishing .. ehhe. Do post this build you're planning here ... .. and anything you've finished!

If you're getting that many VW kits and even a few Tamiyas just for the engine I'd definitely get one of the new Revells because I feel that are as good as the Tamiya. The engine in the revell is as good as the Tamiya' IMO. Then maybe you can tell us if the Revell fits on the Tamiya chassis. I have builds of both going but not at a stage I could do a test fit to find out.

What is a "girls " car ?
Foxer replied to cobraman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is a stupid phrase at best ... I see women driving all those cars that you all think are manly ... there are more women around here in trucks than men. And there sure are a lot of men driving all those Mini's and other cars labeled ar girls cars. My daughter, for one, can drive a stick much better than I ... I'm lazy but she works it like she was born with a 6 speed in her hand. She appreciates all the handling and power cars have. No pink fluff for her when she had her senior prom . she drove my Porsche .. no "dumb limo" would do! If I was held at gunpoint and forced to answer, all I could say would be a pink anything. )) -
Now, I want to see you build this one, Geoff. You'll be done before I am with the two I've been doing simultaneously ... the first and last ones I owned .. an '84 and a '91

1954 Dodge Model Finished - Class of '54 - Entry #1
Foxer replied to Ramfins59's topic in Model Cars
Beautiful job! .. looks like a sows ear turned into a beautiful Easter Ham! )) -
Welcome to the forum, Les. That's an interesting build you mention. I'll be looking forward to a wip. I would tend to strip the paint off everything first and start with clean plastic. It sounds like there will be lots of putty in this and bare plastic would insure a good bond.

I've been sitting by watching this build and really enjoying it and al your attention to details. That suspension system is something I've never seen .. guess was something that never worked out.. ehhe. Nice job replicating it.

I had to use purple tinted windows for build of my daughters van and ended up using a clear purple notebook cover from Staples. This page of the build has photo with the windows in

Welcome to the forum. There are some members here from the UK who should be able to help with where to get kits and supplies.

Some great saves here! have a '61 Valiant that I got cheap becaus eI always loved the design of this car. I built one when they first came out at about 14 years old. This one was a mess, to say the least. I think every optional part was massed on it in tube glue. It's at a point I could primer the body but is still in the works ..

I'm at a loss for words watching this wonderful build ... and you photos are tough to distinguish between reference photos and the real .. model! Thanks for giving us the pleasure of watching you work!

I have a resin Triumph TR4A build going that needs the turn signal pods made from scratch and has put a halt to the build until I come up with a way to make these, which are significent to a TR4A. My thoughts are to create them with plastic sheet and rod, but I would greatly appreciate some thoughts from the great builders here. Here are some good photos of the unit ..

Thanks for the comments resurrecting this . ehhe . I DO look at this every once in awhile as it sits waiting for my attention. The thing that stopped me is figuring how I can do the front fender light turn signal light shroud that is at the front of the side chrome. Here's some photos I've gathered .. nice ones of a piece on sale on ebay ... I thought I could just make a couple out of plastic sheet and rod but I'd love to hear any suggestions. It's probably a good idea to post this question in the qestion forum .. maybe later today. .

Anyone in the auto business know about Car Fax?
Foxer replied to Tom Geiger's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Just a little info on my experience with carFax. I recently got a new vehicle and was trading in my year old Mini Countryman. The dealer said there was a carfax report saying the car was in an accident but no other info on the incident.and he wanted to knock $1000 off my trade in. The accident occured when I backed into a car that had pulled up behind me when backing out of a parking space ... no damage to either vehicle but the woman in other car (from neighboring NY state) said she HAD to report the accident "by law". So was a no damage bump and it ended up on car fax but with nothing indicating the seriousness of the incident. Carfax cost me $1000 for poor reporting. -

No chipmunks were hurt in the filming of this post! He kept bringing it under the deck and letting it go ... only to retrieve again. Eventually the chipmunk found a smaller hole that the cats head.

Wiley was an abused kitten we got from the humaim shelter and he remains petrified of humans .. you'll never find him when someone comes to the house! He torments my wife as he HAS to examine anything new that appears on her chairside table. At least th emost he does is just bat it off the table. For whatever reason, he respects my modeling bench in th ebasement. He always comes down with me but just has his own route as I work. I've never cought him on the bench or found anything on the floor .. other than things I dropped there .. ehhe. He's like all 'kids" nowadays .. they all want motorized toys .. !
