  1. I recently got an Aoshima Subaru Sambar TC Super Charger, a mini truck with open deck that has impressed me to no end as I painted the MANY parts making up this tiny truck. The fit was astounding with all parts just falling into place. Every part has a locator and/or tiny pins to insure accurate placement. This is a link to my build that's still in progress and there's a link in it to a review done on the panel version with photos of the trees. This was one of the most detailed and pleasing kits I've come across in a long time.
  2. That is really cool .. creative and fits the subject perfectly. Are those Jeep lug nuts?
  3. When I was about 10 or 12 a friend and I used to make "bombs" from shotgun casings stuffed with matchheads cut from matchbooks. The wicks were just a match stuck in the end. We just loved the bang and seeing where the casing ended up .. we were out of sight when setting off since we had no control of where it would go .. at least we had some smarts . ehhe. One time the case went through some kind of glass case in his garage and shattered it. That was cool, but it began out curtailment of doing it in a enclosed space.
  4. Every customizer will want those tail lights alone!
  5. Nice to see this back .. and your tail lights are looking grand! I believe the lights in the reference photo you had posted were Packards that were used on many customs, but not laid on their backs like this.
  6. The Hoosac Tunnel is in North Adams .. just up the road
  7. That motor needs a display case of it's own!
  8. Hope this isn't taken wrong as I have no connection to Hobby World other than as a dedicated customer. As with many local hobby shops, the owner has decided to retire and has put the business and land up for sale. As I said, I have no interest and am not trying to sell. I will miss this shop dearly if it ever closes .. this shop is what we all think Hobby Shops should be .. small but always seems to have what I need .. and if not, can be ordered. Owner is a car modeler but his stock and knowledge covers many hobby areas. This is located in the far western part of Massachusetts in the Berkshire Hills .. a beautiful vacation area but only an hour from two major cities. We are extremely fortunate to have a resource like this so close. Hobby World 171 Grove St. (Rt 8) Adams, MA 01220 Facebook page
  9. I've never see that one. Looks like a '54 Savoy but would be fairly easy conversion. I have seen other '54 castings that looked pretty rough, but that one looks nice. Thank's for the heads up, Tom. Here's another close one that was at NNL East 2014 ... labeled as a 1950 PMC acetate promo. Seems promos of Plymouths were made but haven't come across a '53 yet.
  10. That's a really great looking color for pink!
  11. Ok, only me and one other person will want this one .. a 1953 Plymouth Suburban. This was the first new car my Dad ever got and it hauled the 6 of us to the beach every Sunday I can remember when young.
  12. I tried BeamNG awhile ago and it looked interesting, especially the body physics and damage from crashes. Spintires is all about the mud ... I don't believe anything else does mud better. I'm sure many here will have a blast just with the free demo. It has a small jeep-like vehicle and a large 8-wheeled tractor. The mud gets deep and you can use trees to winch yourself out (though not in the demo).
  13. That one fabulous looking engine .. and wrapped up in a well done wrapper!
  14. Spintires is a PC driving game where you can drive trucks through the best modeled mud on the PC. Per their website ... Spintires™ is an off-road driving experience designed to challenge the player's driving skill and endurance. Take responsibility of operating large all-terrain vehicles and venture across the rugged landscapes with only a map and compass to guide you. Explore the levels and unlock portions of the map whilst discovering new trucks, fuelling stations, garages and lumber mills. There is a Tech Demo on their site you can download for free and try it out over a pretty wide landscape. All you truckers should give this a spin.
  15. For me, one of the few cars not modeled that I owned . a '72 Volvo 145 If not, mt wife's '95 Audi Avant
  16. Actually, Beetle kits that are NOT `60-`70's are in the minority .. there are many to choose from.
  17. This is an interesting premise as I was a junior in High School in 1963. But it would have to be Sept. 2015 for me to have a chance of finishing anything . eheh
  18. Welcome and I enjoyed looking at your beautiful work!
