  1. I also thought Ertl only produced those banks in 1/32. If you're looking for a 1/24 Grumman check Jeff Ballard's new offering here
  2. paintscratch.com has it in spray cans. I used their paint on many builds of cars I've owned and like it. Goes on very smooth. I usually cleat coat it with Wet Look Clear if required ot not.
  3. probably jsut surface rust. Does look pulled from a lake for sure!
  4. The rear bodywork on your inspiration I really like . very different. That is worth doing.
  5. That is one old work truck .. the weathering is magnificient .. very realistic and lifelike.
  6. A simple kit, but made to look great!
  7. Pretty obvious choice .. Golf's all WANT to be a pickup! Looks great!
  8. I think Tanker Girl went with the lost files .. and, BTW, there was a girl always getting coffee where I did who drove a HumVee .. not a girlie H2 .. the original .. it took two parking spaces it was so wide!
  9. Great looking Beatle! I had one that color green
  10. ahhaha ... I commented on your new avatar in your '58 Merc thread before seeing this .. said you looked like a proper Scottish Gentelman .. don't know your heritage, but a Gnome!
  11. Beautiful, Richard .. the model, not your new avatar. Well, you do look like a right proper old Scott. I love the '58 Mrecs ... those fins are a pair of the best during the fin wars.
  12. Love this one. definatly needs to be finished!
  13. I haden't seen this before. The tail lights and rear look mild, but really good. I have trouble with the front . .not sure what it is but it looks like buck teeth. Maybe it's the drop in the bumper at the center doing it. The grill fits really well .. wraps around nicely following the Ford body. I'll be watching this evolve .. bery enjoyable thread. I looked back again at the front when paging back ... this may grow on me, expecially when other pieces are added like the headlights.
  14. Welcome back to building and it's great that your son has the love of things cars and maybe will be building. Thats a good touch with the hood peak. I like using triangular strips for this kind of thig as they sit flush with the surface and can be sanded and rounded easily to how you want the peak. Half-round strips work well also, depending what you're after.
  15. The red stripes really make this stand out ... nice touch on the black!
  16. I'm really enjoying watching you work. And I love the way the car is looking!
  17. That just LOOKS like a workhorse .. or maybe bulldog! Very nicely done.
  18. Thanks for you comments, Art. I do understand what it would take for great carb molds. I've designed many injection molding machine foundations ... the big ones that use very complicated molds. What a nasty job designing a mold that will just pop a carb out of it!
  19. That could be a tough one. They are pretty small, I expect, and will be small to get good definition for the decal. Also, if it chrome it will be hard to print a decal since there's no white. On white paper you'd have to trim it. Sorry I'm no help other than what you can't do.
  20. eheh .. answered your PM but it's right in the post you quoted.
  21. RB Motion has nice ones They also have distributor cap boots.
  22. Great photo and put together .. has that old time feeling.
  23. This looks spectacular! great build!
  24. I got the frame shortened and somehow got an offset cut on one side .. by quite a lot! I've chopped and sectioned bodies wit no problem many times ... don't know how I managed to be so far off! ehheeh, that's what they all say, I know. Anyway, it's all together and solid. It was nice of Monogram to provide rails with groves to slip a brass pin in. The white slice shows how far off I was in the cut .. it WAS marked with tape.
