  1. I needed some tennis balls for a build of my daughter's van and found some beads at Michaels .. here's from that thread ... "A VERY small one to keep this alive. Seems everything need to finish is small. There were always tennis balls in the van for my daughter's dog, so ... Some correct sized metal beads I found at Michaels. They even had a pin attached for holding and to mount! I coated with some embossing powder for a bit of texture." There's no tennis ball seam but the embossing powder (also available at Michaels) gave it enough texture to work. There were many more good ball sources quoted above.
  2. I love your taste in subjects . and they all look fantastic!
  3. These have Quality written all over them .. never worry about quantity! Great subjects too!
  4. Nice job there .. that collor really makes it pop!
  5. The best kind of build, IMO .. something you know personally! And the look good and are unique!
  6. Simply wonderful!!
  7. What an imagination! They all look unique
  8. I've been salvaging parts from kits and buying jumkers for various reasons so will have to head down to the garage for a look at what might work. A couple ideas brewing .. I've avoided this and other group builds because of my finishing record, but many were noted for not finishing the Cannonball! have some ideas involving a 968 or wreched Ferrari .. but there are piles down there ))
  9. New Years Day and the internet was down so I removed myself to the basement body shop. The frame got painted .. last of my Floquil Grimy Black (!) .. hope Testors has released this color again. The engine is wired with plugs and fuel line. I may put some linkage on for that beautiful carb. The exhaust pipes off the manifold are the only plastic parts remaining. I cut the pipes shorter and added a sleeve to take the solder pipes. I've been working for days on all the pieces for the 8 new longer shocks and finally ready to paint. Just have to bend the smallest diameter piece to match the curve of the originals. Here's a pic of the process.
  10. That one's a real looker!
  11. I have been doing this for a few years .. cause I never finish anything! ehhee 2014 2013
  12. so would the ones being posted for 2014 .. called Under Glass
  13. Those look really good, Charlie. Good to see you on the bench.
  14. Cool VW .. and a Superbeetle!
  15. Welcome, George .. you do build in MY style!
  16. I'm sure you HAVE, Carl .. and it's always appreciated.
  17. They look pretty good. It would be interesting to see different variations. They sure have small pieces .. as tough as making engine accessory pieces. I came up with the same layered method to make a Browning M1917 for my Mouse Rod. My finger were screaming at me while adding the tiny touches!
  18. That one's getting worked on .. doing too much scratch building on what was supposed to be easy, quick one eheh
  19. As usual I didn't complete any builds during 2014, but I SURE Had fun! So, while everyone posts their builds in Under Glass I have a tradition of posting everything I worked on during the year here. The '32 is still outside the paintshop door .. '69 Bug ... extractor is gonna get redone I think yikes.. I DID slow down this year. only the two recent ones left! ... Subaru Sambar and the jacked '49 Merc Wagon
  20. I'm feeling this is just how the 1:1's were built!
  21. Just a small one .. seems like I've been cutting an eighth inch long small brass tubes forever! The shock mounting pins on frame are in, the muffler got the receiver tubes for the .062" solder tailpipes, sleeves to join the tailpipe to the plastic header pipes and aluminum tailpipe ends done. Looks like the Mercury radiator is a save and probably most of the Mercury engine compartment will be used.
  22. Seriously, Tom? .. now there's a loved cat!
  23. Hard to tell .. is that 1/24th? will love it if so!
  24. ehehhe .. love it!
