    nice decaling.. !!
  4. With this being diecast you can use about any paint stripper. If you want to be cautious, use the usual plastic methods. Brake fluid, Simple Green or Easy-Off. Lately I'm really liking Simple Green. it strips chrome in about 5 minutes. That dash doesn't look real easy to switch to left hand drive, thou not impossible. You have to cut out and shift the instrument pod over and putty it all up. Looks like you would have to cut out and switch the panels below the instrument also.
  5. yeah, that red paint looks WAY too clean! good looking scene!
  6. I do a lot photography in addition to modeling. I use a Nikon DSLR with a closeup lens for photos of models. This is probably way more camera than you need or want most likely. Many of the small cameras do some great close up work. Wish I could point you to a specific one, but seems like models change weekly. I would suggest looking at the Cannon Powershot A-xxx cameras. some of them focus close and they are great cameras. 10 mpix is a very good size and it will take enlargements well (my Nikon is only 10 mpix). There are many sites that give good camera reviews. Here's a couple links.. This one has a neat little buying guide with check boxes. thou no question about close ups: DP Review Steve's Digicams Pop Photo I highly recommend the above sites for quality information. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.. Mike
  7. That purple paint looks fantastic!
  8. This has always been a color tint that I have never been satisfied with in my attempts to duplicate it on models. So this is a little survey to see what everyone has used. Here's an example of the look I am talking about: Eastwood Tools has a paint system to replicate this look, but this is probably a bit much for our small parts. It uses a gold paint and then random splotchy mist coats of transparent green and red spray. Maybe this can be done in the same manner with the right gold paint and transparent model paints. I'll have to look into this. The big question is what brand gold paint or mixture does everyone use? I've used a mix of gold and silver in the past, mostly to tone down the gold, but his was never satisfactory. Mike
  9. Unfortunately, I had to miss the show this year, so thanks for making my morning! Nice job on the videos . you must lay down some mean BMF with that steady hand!
  10. I've created replicas on many of the cars I've owned. I got bottles of touch up paint from the dealer to use. The little ones with the brush. They contain enough paint when thinned for air brush use that I've rarely had to get another one to finish. There's no doubt about color match here. Body prep would be the same as any other for paint. Um Fuji ... I did just remember you mentioning you haven't got an air brush... maybe this is the time to take the big step and just do it. There are many starter air brushes for very little cash. A can of compressed air and a venture into this can be very reasonable.
  11. That's one spectacular truck. The weathering looks so authentic I want to go write "WASH ME" in the grime!!
  12. Whats with the gaps around the hood and trunk pieces. Are those just braces for the body and real pieces elsewhere?
  13. Now, that looks less dangerous than the points on the Caddy Couches!!!
  14. wow ... WOW ... WoW! I'm at a loss for words... that is so beautiful. I could never do this hobby without examples like this showing what is possible. I not only admire your building talents I love your taste in cars.. !!
  15. interesting build photos .. I really enjoyed seeing them. Most customs don't have as much bodywork as that one has in the interior! Great job matching the original.

  21. woo hoo!!! Everyone has said it looked like Fujimi's looked like they were providing for an engine.. now I finally know which one to get
  22. my paint booth is in the basement and the fan ducts exit through the first floor band joists. You have a finished basement there, Fuji, but I expect the floor should be above grade,, even if just barely. You may need to run up through the finished ceiling and take a turn just below the first floor floor boards to a typical clothes dryer outlet.
  23. think someone else is STILL working on his thou, George ...
