  1. This just LOOKS right!
  2. Looks like a fun build... and great job! and I don't recall that movie.. Melanie Griffith? .. I have some shopping to do...
  3. is that the Fujimi or Tamiya?
  4. Awesome looking Subie!!!! That sure doesn't/didn't exist on this side of the world as far as I know.
  5. Looks like you did a good job fitting the front. Slow and easy always wins. This makes me wonder if Japans restrictive car width also applies to trans kit casting! For the life of me I can't imagine why they didn't cast the front to the correct width!!!! Is there some reason you know why? This is unexcuseable to me.....
  6. I thought it was cause I'm a late-comer here, but you put it Under Glass the day I joined! I must have been still dumbstruck at all the talent here cause I would have defiantly given you some admiring glances. The colors all just come together naturally as you look deeper you see all the subtle touches and blends. I just love the.. dare I say .. RAKE on that puppy .. just stands perfect!
  7. That is beautiful Jairus!!!! Curious what you used to cut out the window openings?
  8. Thanks for the pics, Billy! I was hoping to make it this year, but was a no-show. Looks like I missed a good one. And, tell Leadsled to get in gear and SHOW us that yellow creature!!!!!! awesome pain job on that!
  9. This is VERY true!
  10. It looks like it's still mostly aircraft, with military stuff added this year. Can't say much about it, but her'e a link to their site with show info. Wings & Wheels Would be great to have a good car model show in western Mass again.
  11. Those were the days! ..when paint scheme and maker's logo's dominated the surface of race cars.. . not Cheerios and Snickers ads Really nice finding a P_E set hidden under the decals!
  12. all I can say is HOLY CAT! .. does that qualify as a mid-engine?
  13. I have a question for you more knowledge than I. I never realized the white square was always used for numbers , for starters. But whats this on certificates? I do see cars running with like "Le Mans 2008" or some such thing and some graphic. Is there a yearly sticker like this. And some had the class on them .. is this required? This is interesting and I'm sure you and Cal can get me up to speed on markings. And I know I'm not following the rules set out for everyone .. just think of me as the the mechanic's coffee gopher sitting in the corner building his go kart which can't compete, but defiantly having fun.
  14. Aw, Cal .. got to read my post on first page!!!! Think you DID miss the MCM team on your amazing lists though. About every GT1 I've seen was painted by 2nd graders as far as I'm concerned. stickers on white. uggghh! The black History Channel one you posted is the best looking by far of any of them, and don't believe that ran. If I didn't do this little bit of fun I'd probably never build it. This is a good excuse to do it!
  15. I like some of those ideas. The parts tree could have potential though would be some huge, nasty decals. I didn't especially like the "sticker" look of the name logo, but was trying to stay true to what we have. some fading of edges could improve the look. Looking closer, those are parts in the MCM logo.
  16. Oh, I like this idea!
  17. I was down about having to miss it .. just wasn't meant to be this year. You bought WAY too much! The 1/16th was just as a tray to carry everything else? We'll be expecting to see every one build by next MASSCAR!
  18. This is what I'm thinking at this point. It should also totally clear up any thoughts about what the heck I'm doing..... Any comments and suggestions are fully welcome. This is all still in the planning stage and I'm not a professional graphics designer or artist. The faded blue will give me heart palpitations, so I'll be defiantly be soliciting techniques.
  19. oh.. missed that ..doing a 917! coolness.. )) So Paul drove a flamed GT1?? Don't think I've ever seen that.. gonna have to look. He lived not far from me and I did some engineering work for him.. (house, not cars... ehhe). He was pretty much a regular guy.. no overblown ego.

    Landcruiser 4X4

That baby's packing! ..ready for the Outback
  21. interesting color. That's gonna be a unique Cobra.
  22. It's the Revell Champion Porsche. Been in the basement for must be 10 years or so waiting for a spark to do it. Been trying things in Photoshop with the forum logo, but nothing has hit home yet...
  23. Hopefully here will be a race this year with Peugeot and Audi. That body on the Audi is something else, thou....
  24. oh I'm in! Started cleaning up the GT1 ..this is a nicely done kit. LOTS of bars and rods to scrape! eheh This will be a fun build ..thinking about decals to go to the printer to do MCM justice. The top page forum logo is a good looking stripe!
  25. I have a Porsche GT1 here that is crying to be built! I figure I’ll do the little known MCM entry from 2001. You may wonder about this, but since if was a DNF and the car was not quite the latest iteration if did not receive much publicity. Also, since george 53 was the official team photographer there are no photos .. he couldn’t figure how to put the film in his digital camera. gregg was to build a working prototype, but it was left on the workbench, so the car was bought assembled on ebay and ran with a quickly applied paint scheme concocted from scraps of the last issue of MCM left on the paste-up floor. The team consisted of the following designated volunteers: Drivers… Treehugger Dave . excelled at going round and round like a dog leashed to a .. tree; or a modeler that can’t decide what to finish… George 53 Since he was already on the team (see photographer above) it was decided to make use of him and get the suspension set. This is a rare video of his first run:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wM4guvo6Ifo"" target="_blank">george53 Flips Out george’s only comment was, “Baby! This car handles like it’s in Chicago!†Leadsled Merc Claiming to know how to “cruise all day longâ€, Leadsled was blamed for the disintegrating Bondo on the Mulsane which fouled the wipers and resulted in them being sucked into the roof mounted air intake. When asked about his frenching of the stock headlights he replied., “I used Bondo instead of real lead to keep the weight down!†Mechanics DamnCranky - well, the boss thought he knew something about cars, judging by his name CB - originator of the Skwirly2 motor used in the racecar. Front end lift did become a problem due to the HUGE scale of the modifications. (see Driver george 53 above) FujimiLover – originally hired as the Japanese translator, he left in a huff when it was decided to replace the Fujimi body with one by Revell of Germany. Public Relations Evilone – Obviously, none of the team was hounded by reporters, paparazzi or wives. So, that’s all the history I could google up about this little known, but great team. Lets just hope the recreation isn’t left On the Workbench!! Mike
