  1. Thanks. I'll give it a try.
  2. The limber holes look really good. How did you do it? I've got a couple of Type VIIs and XIXs, along with a few Gatos in 1/350. They just don't look right without the work on the limber holes. Thanks!
  3. I remember that being a thing in Louisville, KY in the early to mid 70s. The rock station there would play a full album (or at least one side) in the wee hours of the morning - no commercials. I assume it was to avoid paying DJs. I would imagine there was a technician or someone to flip sides or put the needle back in the groove. This was also the era of TV stations signing off at 11pm or 12am.
  4. Testors also did a yellow version of the Boyd's Hauler with a different name and the same wheels. It was a simple curbside kit with solid black windows and no interior.
  5. Ha! Found the picture. It wasn't the Atlantic, but it was Lindberg in November 2018.
  6. One day at Ollie's quite a while back I found a kit (I think it was a Lindberg Chrysler Atlantic) that had an inscription on the box in Sharpie. It was an inspirational note. I think it came from one of the models for veterans-type thing. Very odd. I was wondering the same thing about Ollie's and their wrappings.
  7. Maybe it has something to do with removale?
  8. I was at my LHS a few minutes ago, and they had the Revell snap-kit New Beetle for $41.99. That happened to be the same price as the Revell AMG GT glue kit (93 pieces). I was thinking of picking up the VW, but not at that price.
  9. This is the one I use. It seems a little more comprehensive than Old Car Brochures: Brochures (lov2xlr8.no) That Comet is a very nice find.

  11. What bothers me is all those B-52s chopped up in the last picture. I understand arms talks and the like, but it's disturbing to see the outcome.
  12. In no particular order, these are my crank up the volume and bang my head songs: Black Sabbath - Paranoid Transplants - Diamonds & Guns Ramones - I Wanna Be Sedated
  13. Apparently, the B-17 was Texas Raiders, a B-17G owned by the Commemorative Air Force.
  14. I don't have the steadiest hand either. You can see how rough the driver's side is, especially at the bottom. I may give it another gentle Dremeling, then break out the sandpaper and files. I do worry about going all the way through the plastic or damaging the edges of the trough. How did you damage the cab?
  15. So. I finally got around to taking pictures of the chrome removal. The first is the cab. It's cleaned up some, but still needs work. As Mike C. said, it's not as easy as it looks. You can also see that the windshield has been raised a bit and some cleanup is needed on that. Most of my time is spent on cleanup. The second picture is the bed sides; the left is untouched, the right has the rough Dremeling done. Lots of work ahead on these. After everything's cleaned up, the bed will be reconfigured to a normal short or long bed truck - none of this Camper Special or stepside stuff.
  16. I thought so. I had a hard time telling. Thanks!
  17. Are those flares separate pieces or molded to the body?
  18. Thanks. Love the stance and the bed.
  19. Great looking truck. What is it?
  20. No one in the photos seems to notice it except the photographer.
  21. I've got the removal of the "spears" in progress. It's gone from the cab. I used a Dremel with a small ball cutter to remove it. The hard part for me is getting the dents smoothed out and properly shaped. It'll take more sandpaper and filing. I'm also concerned about how well the side markers stood up to the Dremeling. IIRC the side markers are basically flush mounted. A little of the appropriate paint should take care of that, but that's a long way off. The bed is next. I don't expect any new challenges with the chrome removal. I'm trying to decide whether to go with a short bed or long bed - it won't have the camper special wheelbase/configuration or a stepside bed. I appreciate the reminders for the conversion in the last few pages. I don't have any pictures, but there's nothing unexpected. I did remove all the other chrome from the truck. I like the look of the base model truck without all the trim on it. This is going to be a long term project for sure.
  22. The front spoiler and wheel well pieces (we always called the rear ones wheel pants) were available through the dealer's parts department, and worked just fine on the non-Trans Am Firebirds. My friend with a brand spanking new 78 Firebird bought and installed them. It was a great looking car. If you want to use them, they won't be incorrect except for a factory stock model. The factory parts were available for owner installation.
  23. Nice build going on - you're doing some great detailing. I followed a white one up the Baltimore-Washington Parkway for quite a bit not too long ago. Very shocking to see - I certainly never expected a Ferrari "station wagon". but it was a nice looking car. Looking forward to seeing this completed.
  24. My only question is what HL coupon?
