  1. Thanks guys! Those are from an old Arri set- I think those went out of production in the '90's. Not yet, maybe for '14.
  2. Very happy with the 2-hole Budds I'm using on my Great Dane...
  3. I'm gonna have to say the one my mom brought over this morning- the AMT Ford C-600 Pepsi truck. Yeah, I've already got a couple, but maybe this one I can actually build AS the Pepsi van.
  4. Nice! Kind of reminds me of a Marmon-Herrington conversion.
  5. That one little detail did, does, and forever will continue to baffle me. When the kit manufacturers were doing full-detail kits of current trucks, only that Lindberg F-150 was kitted as a four-by. Four-bys were relegated to snap kit or promo status.nd what's the one thing everybody asked? "Why did they do it as a two-wheel drive?" I know quite a few people who would have bought multiples of the Revell '99 Chevy Silverado 1500 if only it had been a 4x4 model. It stands to reason- what, 70% of modern pickups are four-wheel-drive, meaning a lot more people want them than two- wheelers, and that way of thinking seems to carry over into scale models, and yet the kit manufacturers ignored what would seem to be the bigger slice of the pie. I'd say (going by my own feelings and that of other modelers I know) the availability of a four-wheel-drive version would override trim level/option packages represented in the kit the vast majority of the time.
  6. Here are some old Accu-Pro pieces I stumbled across a few days back- they've already been earmarked for future projects-

  10. Might manage to squeeze off one more, if I do, I'll post it here. Here's where things stand at the moment. '52 Hudson Hornet '97 Ford Galaxie XL '50 Olds (with chopped top body from Morgan Automotive Detail) '81 Nissan Skyline '88 Buick Regal
  11. Here are some new pictures of some older models I've done... '77 IH Scout II with a Replicas and Miniatures plow '25 Ford Model T What used to be a Jeep CJ-5
  12. I built this one about five years ago, back when I first started doing weathered models. This was built using leftover parts from an AMT '25 T kit after I'd built the street rod version- the Buyer's Choice kit I used had no optional coupe body, so I had to make due. I built it as a cobbled up wrecker/plow/tractor deal. Note how the plow moldboard has warped a little- I think I used some thick acetate for that because it was all I had on hand at that time. But I have no plans to fix that, I like the look of it now. The first pic is from shortly after I finished it in 2009, the rest are from earlier today.
  13. I'll be putting up my Festivus pole later on today. Thanks for the sentiment, Bernard!
  14. Even if I didn't wave that through the checkpoint, I'm pretty sure she has more than enough turbo to outrun whatever vehicle with which I'd give chase. Love it!
  15. I see the infamous Henway Speed Six... that one deserves to be finished! I've heard (but haven't confirmed) that the tooling was scrapped by Monogram. Even though it was a pretty good kit it was a colossal dud, sales-wise.
  16. Thanks guys! Erik I'll keep it in mind- I should have the flashers from that kit some place, if not I'll let you know Danno- yes ineed, that's the one. James- thanks, but Danno's right- the flasher in the Fire Truck looks quite a bit too small to work.
  17. Yes, this thread's almost two years old, but I've got to say I love 'em! I've had the notion to do a square-body S10 in about the same style as that C1500.
  18. That long ago already? Wow. I will say I'm awfully fond of the new for '13 police version.
  19. Nice! There used to be a green 1:1 truck similar to that in my area.
  20. One classy ol' Dodge! Great way to round out the year.
  21. Cut the molded inner fenders from AMT's '49 Merc, and you can use the chassis/floor from the chopped Revell kit with comparatively little fuss. That '66 Nova pro street chassis will also work under Falcons, Comets, Rancheros, Fairlanes, and even a few AMC products, all you need to do is adapt a suitable front suspension, and the stock Nova parts are almost close enough to resemble the Ford parts in scale. Obviously you may need to do some trimming and shuffling of engine mounts, etc., but it's usually a pretty straightforward deal. The supercharger and belt drive from the Revell '69 Corvette also fits the big block engines in their '67 Chevelle and '66 El Camino kits. If you don't want a Chevy powered AMT '32 Ford, you can take that iffy SBC in the kit and convert it into an iffy (but convincing) Y-Block Ford with some appropriate valve covers and adding a tilted distributor. Moebius and most Italeri soft vinyl Michelins will also fit right onto AMT's big rig kit wheels. A few more when/if I remember them...
  22. Always wondered what a rusty 'Vette Stingray would look like... I now have my answer! Makes me want to pull the trigger on the rusty Delorean I've had in mind for a while now.
  23. I'm planning to model a couple of Michigan State Police units, and that of course means I'm in need of some Unity Spitfire RV 25/RV 26 "gumball" roof flashers.... nothing else looks right on one! Any kit or aftermarket sources for one? I'd really rather not have 'close enough' for this one, but if I have to settle that's what I'll do...
  24. I've head some say that they're "generic" trailers, and I've heard others say they're replicas of Wells Cargo brand trailers. Anyone know if they represent a particular 1:1 manufacturer's trailers? Just curious.
