  1. True enough, but AMT never forgot the front inner fenders. And come to think of it, they included quite a few building varitations and optional parts, something JoHan didn't always do.
  2. I like that- that would be a nice little detail for observant viewers. It would add a bit extra to the story.
  3. And let's not forget, JoHan did the Chrysler Turbine concept car kit, which is still one of the best-detailed kits ever made. Their series of Classic kits ('31 Cadillacs, Mercedes Roadster, etc.) are very good kits, with comprehensive parts breakdown, very sharp surface detail, and quite a few working features. Their annual kits were something else entirely- glass that seems thick enough to withstand a bullet, shallow interior tubs, and some pretty glaring ommissions (like the lack of inner front fenders in the '60 Plymouth wagon). So it could be said JoHan's products run the full gamut.
  4. I always thought the old JoHan boxes had a pretty good thing going with the box art. Then again, same could be said for MPC in most cases.
  5. '52 is back in a priority spot on the bench...
  6. Looking good! And I have to commend you for choosing a body color other than red.
  7. Love it.
  8. Already a thousand times better than what you started with. I'll be keeping an eye on this one.
  9. I'd stick it in either a Galaxie Chevy Aerocoupe, or maybe a Chevy II/Nova. Just make sure to poke open some breathing holes for it.
  10. I'd have to agree. That is a bit of a downer, but required for the interior to fit up into the cab. It does present a bit of a challenge blending and filling them.
  11. I'm glad somebody else came out and said that, because that is one idea I'm kicking around for it.
  12. It's out. Just look for the orange '70 Super Bee pickup and red '66 Impala on the cover.
  13. One I've been playing around with the last couple of days.
  14. Bonus points if all the money you got from the boat went/is going toward modeling stuff.
  15. That is true- IF it takes. And sometimes it takes a couple of tries. That might be why Roger doesn't deem it worth the effort.
  16. Looks great with those wheels.
  17. You know, that's been done... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19870&hl=fugly
  18. Nice! You even painted the grille panel (everything but the headlamp bezels and grille) body color- that's something almost everybody who builds this kit misses.
  19. The 955 and 1355 were products of WFE meddling with it's 'heritage' brands. They were basically MM's Long Life engine and front axle mated to Oliver's transaxle and three-point system, a design which debuted with the first White-branded farm tractor. The 1355 was sold in White, Oliver, and Cockshutt livery as the 2270, and the 955 was also sold by Oliver and Cockshutt. They were the last trace of MM's engines, as White Motor Company did not believe in building their own engines. After the old names were dropped in favor of White, WFE bought its engines from outside manufacturers. The cab on my G1000 is from Full Vision, Inc. I'm not sure if it was made by Hiniker, produced under licence, or anything like that, but it does look very similar. Not sure how they'd compare size-wise, though.
  20. Should be able to get it as touch-up paint from a GM dealer, or from Car Quest. Other than that, waiting for Scale Finishes to reopen is the only surefire way to get it.
  21. Still looks more blue than gray to me. That's the color I am trying to duplicate, though.
  22. The MPC Flip Nose interior tub will slot right into the AMT Trophy Series cab- great way to hide the weird way AMT did the inner door panels (molded inside the body shell), and will also do away with the gap at the firewall visible when you peek into one of the side windows. Of course that won't help if you want to build it factory stock, but reworking the MPC tub's inner door panels to look more like the stock Ford panels wouldn't be too hard.
  23. Eh... might want to toss that tarp back on, I'm already seeing some surface rust forming.
