  1. And... replicate Hamster and Jeremy's less-than-subtle sabotage of the air conditioning controls in May's Caddy.
  2. New tires on a recently aquired project? Love the way it looks. The weathering is great, and the way it is photographed makes it look real, like an photo you'd see of a real one for sale on Craigslist or in an Auto Swapper.
  3. The star means you have posted in that thread.
  4. Do a Google image search for 'KDF Mangler' and you'll get an idea of what's in store for it.
  5. I like it. I'd much rather see more built in this style than yet another black/red one with a (yawn...) Small Block Chevy.
  6. Is this that movie with Justin Timberlake? If so, THAT is the reason I did not go out to see it. That, and the plot sounded completely idiotic. And now there's Hunger Games... really scraping bottom for movie plots these days, aren't we? But... might just have to check it out simply for those Lincoln Continentals!
  7. Love that Merc! Not a huge fan of Novas, but I really like the color combo on yours.
  8. I'm working on a 1701 A, absolutely no idea when it/if I will ever finish it. Or I might build it as the Yorktown, since according to the (non-official) history described on the AMT/Ertl instruction sheet, that's what the A originally was.
  9. Oh... Tim, not Tom. Unless two guys with the same last name did the Scale Firehouse column in SAE.
  10. Might be just the excuse I need to pick up that new Meng 1:35 Toyota Technical kit I've had my eye on...
  11. The '68 JoHan kit (just finished one a few days ago, if I may say so ) is a C-body, all '65 and later full size Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth models were. So depending on how 'early' you're defining it, pretty much any 1962-64 Mopar product aside from the compacts would be considered a B-body. So far, everything that's available with regards to four-door B bodies that I can think of has already been mentioned. I think the R&R kit might be a Belvedere- they also do a '67 Fury, but I have never personally had my hands on either one. As an aside- 1964 and earlier 'fullsize' B-body Mopars (which weren't fullsize compared to Ford and GM's fullsize lines, really) are sometimes incorrectly reffered to as C-bodies. The C body designation did not come about until the arrival of the new 1965 fullsize line.
  12. I believe so. I built two of these, and on one I did glue the liftgate shut. Had no issues I can recall installing the taillamps later.
  13. The Monogram Orange Hauler had a Nailhead V8, but someone will have to refresh my memory- from what I remember, it was a bit on the simplified side.
  14. I remember that episode quite well. First time in my life I was ever ashamed to be an American. Not kidding at all.
  15. Nah- just find a rust-free Satellite and throw a few Road Runner bits on it. Then sell it for a premium. Again, very nicely done.
  16. Hood does look kind of thin, but a duplicate of the 1:1 underside bracing done in .020 or .030 styrene sheet should curb that.
  17. Yeah- I have a real '67 4-door out in the garage... pretty sure I can figure out the differences. Also- interior tub in this kit is for a 2-door, JoHan apparently couldn't be bothered to add rear window cranks or door handles.
  18. I bought this kit as a parts donor years ago- the engine was long gone, the hood was sealed shut with epoxy, and some iffy bodywork had been done to it. I wanted to build it into a lookalike of my '67, to see how that might look when the restoration is done. Instead, I made it look more like my 1:1 in its current state... several shades of primer and rust! My 1:1's interior is still the original 'cool mint' green, but when it is redone it will be red, and the car will eventually have a nice paint job, so I guess this might represent the car in some future 'in progress' state. I pretty much threw the car together last night, because it was pretty clear I wasn't going to sleep. The wheels and tires are from AMT kits, and I lowered the car a bit by drilling the axle holes up higher. Not my finest effort, but for a 12-hour, single-sitting build, not too shabby, and I'm really happy with how it looks. The next one will be converted to '67 specs and I'll actually go for 'replica' status!
  19. Many of them were reissues of common kits, done in a different color (such as the '29 Model A pickup), while others I have never seen issued in anything other than Hot Rod brand box art (Lincoln Mark VII LSC). The Hot Rod series was also the only reissue for the Mickey Thompson Attempt I... a kit I think is WAY past overdue for a reissue. Two supercharged Pontiac Tempest slant fours and a very nice Dragmaster chassis? Don't mind If I do!
  20. Hard to beat Revell's series of '32 Fords as far as good fit goes. One stipulation is this- building a version with fenders might be a bit more of a challenge than doing one as a Highboy, because fit of the fenders to the body and frame is a bit tight, but other than that, I've never had one of those kits fight me.
  21. Agreed- that would really help the looks of the front end. Wonder if anybody does a photoetch grille insert for these kits...?
  22. I'm perfectly happy with waiting a year or two if it means the best possible quality. Haven't even finished my first Lonestar and I've already got more than a handful of ideas for this one.
  23. That and they're awfully chunky-looking, at least to my eye. Best thing about those MRC hop up sets are the wheels... and those ever-useful adapters.
