  1. And the oil filter is in the wrong place.
  2. The cut lines aren't properly located on the body, but the skirts are molded in. If you want to build the model without skirts, cut about 5mm behind the front engraved line, and 3mm behind the rear line, so the wheel will be centered in the opening. Dave Metzner has said future runs of the kit will have this issue corrected.
  3. Didn't know there was a kit of the Excelsior. Very cool!
  4. When the second part applies, they're also known as 'Sock Puppets'.
  5. I was thinking Steppenwolf, but AC-DC works just as well.
  6. Big block Chevy- not sure what kit it is from, though. The Flip Nose Ford truck does come with a big block Chevy, but the heads and blower are different.
  7. Agreed. Detail and quality-wise, they hold up pretty well even by today's standards.
  8. The engine compartment looks plenty wide, too- a 1:24 engine would fill it out pretty nicely.
  9. Glad you posted that Greg- reminds me I have a few of those Muscle Machines models in my stash. I've seen lots of guys redo Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars... can't say I've ever seen anyone rework a Muscle Machine.
  10. There was one at a local junkard about 13 years back that had a simliar.... ah.... act perfomed upon its person. Backyard angle iron and stick welder job. I'd actually almost like this one if it weren't for all that polished diamond plate in the back.
  11. One other thing that might be a factor- quite a few of the guys buying this kit weren't around when they were new. Guys like me in the under-30 (for three more months, anyway) crowd. For us, the 'dork car' factor they had when they were new cars is lost, and we see the car without that bias.
  12. So when is that massive influx of Gremlins going to show up, I wonder?
  13. What's with the '57 Chevy? Or the first gen Camaro? Or any other car I personally don't care for? It's a kit of a unique subject that hasn't been reissued in a very long time. A breath of fresh air after years of nothing but endless reissues of Muscle cars and '50's/'60's car kits. THAT's where the enthusiasm is coming from. And what's wrong with a Morris Marina... other than the fact they're piano magnets?
  14. I stole that from a blog... Any more pics of that thing?
  15. LOVE that Brockway! And any IH in scale works for me. Can't believe it- forgot a couple more of mine- Early F-series Cabover ('56 shown, any year '38 to '56 would do, though.) And a Big Job F-series (or T-series if it's a Tandem)
  16. Well, this is it... do have one more in the works, and another that's being coverted to a four-door baby Lincoln.
  17. I've seen quite a few threads based around wants of new rigs. But not too many about the classics. A Peterbilt 281 would be a great addition to somebody's lineup. Looks cool as-is, and of course more than a few would end up as Duel trucks. So... would you guys like to see a newly-tooled kit of an old truck? And if so, which one(s)? Don't hold back, now! A few I'd like to see (please forgive my Binder Bias...)
  18. That you're not! THIS Charles would love to see some more vocational trucks as well. An off-highway rig or two wouldn't kill me, either. Won't stop me buying semi tractors in the meantime, though.
  19. Feel like an idiot now... just sold the one I had. Guess I'll live vicariously through this buildup now! I like it- kind of a Shelby-tuned Tiger vibe about it.
  20. This is the one I voted for. It's probably also the reason I just kind of gave up on my oh-so-booooooring mild custom '62 Buick project for that build off, as well.
  21. Jim... that begs the question: Whatcha gonna do with the rest of that Ambulance body?
  22. Pretty fancy for an AMC dealership, eh? (They do say 'eh' in Wisconsin, right? )
  23. Or- he himself is a professional modeler, but this particular model isn't one he built himself.
