A wide tire would be a problem on this kit, since it is based on the '10 GT and that kit has some skinny little wheel wells. So did the '05 GT and its variants, now that I think of it. I have a bunch of nice tires that would look fantastic on this kit, and have about the right sidewall height, but I can't use any of them because they're too wide.

67 Charger ignition system

Wayne, I'm assuming you are working with the Revell kit? If so, it is a Hemi. This is NOT a factory stock Hemi, but your wiring should look something like this: -
Pretty original Weasel? Where'd ya get that? And hey, ten percent of ALL Fords is still a pretty good number.

Been there! It amazes me how sometimes you go OUT OF YOUR WAY to make it easy for people to be informed on what you are selling, and it still goes over the heads of some people. When I sold my '67 Impala, I said in the ad it had a later-model 350, 15" Camaro Iroc wheels, and was painted 2003 Chevy Victory Red. Guess what the three most common questions I got were? Yep... "Does it still have the 327 in it?" "What wheels are those?" and "What red is that?" (It was a color photo in the ad, too by the way.)

Very cool. Kinda looks like a '64 Fairlane in front, at certain angles.

Years ago I had a diecast 1915 Chevrolet in roughly 1:25 scale that would have been a cool master, but I have no idea what ever happened to it.

Right you are. Ron is a good guy to do business with. -
Hot rod parts would be a real bonus, either way, I'd be up for one or ten of 'em!

Neighborhood shop says he's getting them in in a week or so. But yeah, I think sometimes Revell is in some sort of weird apocalyptic time cube, considering the period of time it takes for some of their kits to finally hatch.

There are some diecast pieces in 1:25 available too, like this skid loader. Last time I checked there were two or three other Gehl skid loaders available in this scale. This one I took apart and weathered. Might need to do something about those rivets, though. -
Sweet! Soooooooooo gonna rip off this idea!

The tires from the Revell Acura RSX will fit as well, once the 'rib' is filed off the wheel, but the sidewall looks to be waaaaaaay too short.
-
Amen to that! 4 wheel drive is nice, but it is NOT a protective force field! Driving still requires some degree of mental aptitude on your part.

I'm going by memory here, but I think I used the AMT '05 300C tires on one of my '05 builds. The Supra tires are the ideal choice though.

VERY realistic finish on the trailer load! Is that flocking? -

Gonna. I'm even playing around with the idea of an altered wheelbase Hornet, just to mess with people. Dave... that's about what I had in mind for the one I was thinking of. Killer build. Now I've just got to think of how to make mine different from yours! -
I'm on the fence about the box art- the 'up on a ladder' view is at least something different. It does seem to obsucure the tire/ride height issues... maybe that's why they did it? Still not the most flattering image though. The wheels look a LOT more realistic than the soft, blob-ish things in the '07 kit. Still haven't finished my '10 GT, but so far I have had no issues with it- so I'm expecting the same from this kit. REALLY glad Revell has ended its love affair with molding the grille surfaces to the front facia (Dodge Magnum, Ford Lightning, etc.), so no tedious masking required for the grille. That was one of my favorite features on the '07 GT 500 (along with the hood vents), glad to see the feature made it to the '10 Shelby kit as well. I don't build too many late-model car kits, but I'll be getting more than a few of these.

I know Don ended up with his '59 Chevy sedan delivery. Sure hope somebody got this one!

I've been toying with the idea of slinging a straight axle under the front of one of these, just because the combination of gasser and lead sled elements would look so wrong but so right together. -
Might take a break from the Matador for a bit- just means I'll have to blow the dust off the '61 Rambler or crack open the '59.

Polar Lights Bug "Herbie" question
Chuck Most replied to Rick Schmidt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'd love to see the roof just molded open (perhaps with an option of closed or open sliding tops....), but after hearing what I heard about the kit, then actually buying the kit and seeing for myself, I was actually pretty happy with the kit overall. A choice of waterslide or stick-on decals would be nice for future issues, as well. Why not? Seemed to work okay for the COT kits. -

Greg is right- and what inaccuracies it DOES have are easily fixed. It's actually pretty nicely detailed, even though it's a snap kit. Full engine detail, opening hood and trunk, and a decent interior. Not quite as nice as the Tamiya '66, but still pretty good all things considered.
