  1. I think Death will be the last one I do, though. Get the hard ones out of the way first, THEN do the easy one!
  2. Wow! I don't even like '62 Chevys or Corvettes... but somehow the best bits of each in one car, THAT concept works quite well!
  3. Just had a thought pop into my head. Hey! That hurts! Wonder if a thread would go on for 8 pages over on that other forum if MCM were mentioned as many times as SA has been named here...
  4. I give up. I'm only building pre-painted snap kits out-of-box from here on out!
  5. Meanest-lookin' Dodge truck model I've seen in a long time.
  6. Another beauty, Lee! Yeah- I've kept clear of Testors Gloss clear enamel for years now. Looks really 'great' on a white car.
  7. Anyone up for a blazing rendition of "In A Gadda De Vita"? (Yeah, spelling is way off...)
  8. Dan? This spud's for you! BRONCOS SUCK* * The NFL team, not the Ford.
  9. Now it's got some junk for a trunk!
  10. That's one of my favorite things about MCM, if I may be honest. MCM kind of reminds me of SA, back when it was SAE and Gary Schmidt was still at the controls. Heck... Larry Greenburg does the kit reviews, just like in SAE, and Wayne Moyer shows us what's available in the 1:43 and diecast world, just like in SAE years ago. And MCM still has a sketchpad item... something SA did away with about a year or so ago. Oh, and guess where Brad Leisure is now? That and MCM has a more laid-back kind of 'feel' to it. Yes, I do like SA, but I like MCM too. I won't say which one is my favorite, because I'm biased ( ), but the long waits between issues of MCM are about my only gripe.
  11. Two very cool effies! That Trophy Series AMT kit is one of my all time favorites. Oh, AMT probably didnt' chrome the bumpers because chrome bumpers weren't available on the F-series in 1953, but the flip nose version has chrome bumpers which fit the older kit just fine.
  12. I believe they're Stromberg 97s. They came from the AMT '32 Ford 5-window. Like I was gonna go with EFI, right?
  13. I wanted to get the cab permanently mounted tonight, and mission accomplished! But first, I needed a dash. I decided against the original '53 Stude dash, because it looks so cool and would be so impossible to see in the Chevy cab. (I'd originally been leaning toward an open body when I started this build). So, I dug out a '40 Willys dash and hacked it to fit. I also dug out a '78 Monte Carlo wheel and column. Once that was completed and installed in the cab, I was able to get the cab in place. I also did a little work on the engine- added three carbs with a leveling block, an alternator and bracket, and of course a belt/pulley casting, and I had to move my voltage regulator down and to the driver's side to clear the engine. A Ford Ranger engine has never looked so mean!
  14. That's how much the Tigers suck. They could have been the worst team E-V-E-R, in history. But they managed to screw THAT up! You know you're a lousy team when you can't even LOSE properly!!!!
  15. Is that the new Dart reissue? Looks like it's shaping up to be a killer build... the radiused rear wheel openings are the tip off!
  16. Well, DU-UHHHH! Sheesh, I'm still miffed that the '03 Tigers couldn't even manage to be the worst team ever.
  17. YES!!!!!!! YOU HEAR THAT, ALL YOU MR. OPTIMISTS!!!!!!!!! ANOTHER SEASON OF MEDIOCRITY!!!!!!!!!! WOOTWOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. I have HD ADD. When I'm not paying attention, it's crystal clear...
  19. A belated update, as I actuallly did the rear window last night... And, after cobbling up a crossmember, and doing some wiring, assembly, and basic detailing, the 4.0 is in place... Here's where the piston shifter comes into play, and it's mounted in the boot from a Pro Street Super Bee kit (Thanks, Eric!).
  20. Those Lions have traditon! Who else loves seeing them get their trousers pulled down every Thanksgiving? I know it's one of the few pleasures I have on that particular day!
  21. Hold yer horses, Mirage! I've got a really neat application for that Supra mill coming up later on... Don't feel too bad, Rob. The part of the Olds I used was about the only savable part of the kit (though calling what was left of it a 'kit' is quite a stretch). Looked like somebody had used it as a t-ball at some point.
  22. I won't be happy until I see a story on the news about Vick being mauled to death by dogs. THEN he'll be a good man in my book!
  23. BACK AND TO THE LEFT, KEN!!!!!!!!!!!! PS Lions Suck.
  24. I actually thought of using the turbo I-6 from the AMT Supra. Trouble is, the way I have this thing set up, there wouldn't be enough room, lengthwise, to fit it and still wedge in a radiator and grille, and I'm far too lazy to blow the thing back apart and redo it!
