  1. Then repeat as necessary to foot the gas bill!
  2. That is cool. I have an AMT '32 Ford Phaeton that has the information in French...AND, according to the info printed on the bottom of the box, it's actually a '69 Hurst Olds! I bought the kit sealed (it's a late 1980's/early 1990's issue), and it had the wrong bottom in the box. The box top has French and English translations, but the bottom is English only.
  3. Flexible ducting and duct tape are all you need for a cold air intake! If it were mine, I'd yank the V6 and drop in the mill from a wrecked GT500KR! (Then immediately regret that action when I filled up the tank afterwards!)
  4. Kind of looks like a Trans Am car, updated a bit and modified for street use. Maybe a bit too early to be Pro Touring, but you can see the intent is there!
  5. I've always thought the Camper Special Fords of this era were really goofy looking with the rear axle shoved so far back. I've got one of these I'm planning to convert into a regular longbox F-100. I'll get rid of the weird wheelbase, AND theoretically correct the coil spring front suspension by so doing!
  6. Making your own risers would be easy- just cut some strips of plastic the thickness you want to raise the car and size them to fit into the spring pockets, then glue the springs onto them. Extend the shocks, or find some longer ones, and you should be in bidness.
  7. I've seen those Carney cases- trouble is I'd STILL need to add a wing to my house to accomodate them all!
  8. I did see an entirely scratchbuilt 1:24 scale passenger bus in the other magazine years and years ago- I believe it was a man in Australia. It appeared to be a curbside kit- all the windows were blacked out, but the bodywork was incredible! I've seen a few 1:25 scale 1940's-era school bus bodies in resin, but I have no idea who produced them. Wouldn't mind one of those myself!
  9. Flatheads- and not JUST the Ford V8 variety. There's just something so inherently cool about an engine that is little more than a couple of Briggs and Strattons stacked together at the crank. They're totally utilitarian, but they just look awesome! The last cool looking engine was the Boss 429. Covering that engine with one of those plastic shrouds you see nowadays should be punishable by death- you KNEW that engine was all business just by those valve covers!
  10. You'd have really hated the first engine I test fitted into it, a dual quad Mercury 410...
  11. Here's the box top- knew I had a picture of it somewhere!- Yeah, it is a bit pricey. I've only seen it once- a local guy ordered one at the hobby shop to modify into a model of his motorhome.
  12. Shhhh.... You've got to build up the drama!
  13. She's a beauty so far, and I expect she'll be even better looking completed!
  14. Not sure, but I'm pretty confident it wasn't anything good!
  15. Revell AG does a 1:24 scale late model European touring bus. Last I knew it was still available. That's the only bus I'm aware of in the common model car scales in plastic kit form.
  16. Jerry was at the police station, pestering the receptionist at the front desk. "I need to see the man who broke into my house!" He said. "I'm sorry, sir," the receptionist responded, "I can't do that. You'll have your day to face him in court." "No, no... you don't understand!" Jerry said. "I just want to know how he got into my house at three AM without waking my wife. I've been trying to do that for twenty years!"
  17. I just got my Modelhaus '50 Buick grille today, and couldn't be happier. Well, I suppose I could be happier, but all things considered it's been a good day so far!
  18. The bed, grille, and bumpers are resin repops of the old AMT pieces- I'm not 100% sure who made them, but I have seen resin kits based on the old AMT annual Chevy truck kits, so I suppose they're out there.
  19. I dug out this box a couple of nights ago, and it does list the engine as a Wisconsin, and Wisconsin is engraved in the heads. It's a very nicely done engine, as well!
  20. Man,that is nuts! I especially dig the Edsel grille!
  21. So... I take it the headlamp screen detail is an issue with this particular kit?
  22. Dave mentioned the '65 Imp, and they've also have a 348 in the '58 Impala kit. The engines have a few differences in 1:1, but I doubt anyone would notice in 1:25.
  23. I won't get too excited until I see it on the shelves, but I'm glad to find out it's at this stage!
