  1. The bed is the only thing you need and it would be easy to make the doors match. You would have to make the chrome rails as well.
  2. Ok, some time ago robwes70 sent me this link. http://ssbresins.com/new-parts.php At the time, this was a complete resin kit that cost $110 and is now listed at $99. I said something about the price and he contacted them and sent me this in a pm. According to SSB Resins you can purchase just the "bed" for $33.00 + $5.34 s&h. I have not contacted them yet, because I was not ready to build this truck, but feel free to do so and let us know how it turns out. I may go ahead and get the rest of the parts and stuff I need to do this build as well. I also noticed on that same page they offer squad decals. N0 51 since it was only based on a real squad, but they might have some stuff to piece most of it together with. I have not looked at everything on the site yet. I also noticed they have the stokes litter basket, and other parts that may help out. 98 2005 LACOFD PARAMEDIC SQUAD KIT RES KIT04R $99.00 http://ssbresins.com/new-parts.php
  3. Dencon has the grill you need. Chimneyville has a light bar that is almost an exact copy of what they use. You should be able to find enough decals on there site to do your truck as well. I have a link for a bed to do that truck with to. I plan on doing one at some point and time. I have what I think may be Ford dually wheels that are pretty close to these. Also, would you like to part with that step bed you have? I could use one if you don't need it.
  4. Looks good so far.
  5. I'll throw my name in here. I have a Paystar that I built the engine only. I'm collecting parts for my "Movin On" KW and I'm sending off my shipping fee for a Diamond Reo that's partly built and will be torn apart and rebuilt.
  6. If I may add some to it as well, you can order bmf online of course. If you don't want to do that, try this method for painting the fine chrome lines. Get the narrowest width tape you can find. Narrow width makes it easier to force around corners. Tape off both sides of the chrome trim you want to paint and use a fine bristle detailing paint brush. Then after it has time to dry you can peel the tape back off and only the exposed area will have chrome paint on it. Hope that helps. We all have to start somewhere and I'm still learning a trick or two here or there since I got on this site.
  7. I bet it's 'cause I did not write it. It's a copy and paste along with the link to the page I got it from. Might want to pass that info on the guy that actually wrote it.
  8. Looks good so far. Really love the detail in the rear tires. Just one thing though, you have them on the wrong side. See the arrow at the top of the whitewall?
  9. Looks good. Can't wait to see the finished product.
  10. Looks good. Sorry I missed the post on making the hood scoops. Looks like your off to a good start on it though.
  11. I like the stock rims you have there. New 16 in up wheels don't look good on older cars or muscle. They don't handle well on the older 1:1 cars either.
  12. Lookin good. Like the stance and the Cragars just fit that car.
  13. Shelbyville, about an hr south of Nashville myself. I've seen a couple other Tn. listings, but I'm afraid I can't tell you there names. I'm so bad about forgetting names if I don't constantly use them.
  14. Yeah, that was a little over the top. lol
  15. Thanks.

  17. Still in use today. Read this. I hope the links in the pasted section work so you can see the pics of it on a real car. http://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/164226/ 07-21-07 05:19 PM - Post#1213627 In response to Elevin.six2one OK Elvin... here's the deal on Planet Color; Let me start by stating up front that I am a Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes employee. I'll tell you I wouldn't say anything at all if I didn't have anything nice to say, but I realize you have no idea of my credibility level, this being my first post to this forum. This is my friend's '49 Chevy pickup; http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c23/JPPics/49% 20... or http://tinyurl.com/27lts3 We painted it in Planet Color earlier this year. In 5 car shows, it took Best of show in 1 show, and best paint in the remaining 4 shows. Yes, it's similar to HOK in that you have crushed glass, crushed mirror, candies and other custom paint additives. Where it is very dissimilar to HOK is in the fact that these additives go into our OEM approved paint line. So, you have UV protection, chip resistance... you can put this on your car, drive it every day, and it's going to hold up to the sun, rocks, rain, snow... We drive the '49 to all the shows (last week's show was an hour and a half drive, including some interstate driving). Planet color is on NASCAR cars (Dale Jr.s Navy car is all Planet Color - his other cars are all other paint lines from Sherwin-Williams), Champ cars, and whatever number of custom bikes & cars. If you ask experienced painters, you will probably learn that SW automotive paints were nothing to write home about in the early 90's. If they lack recent experience with SW auto paints, they may believe that opinion to still be true. The past few years has seen a dramatic change in that reality. Ask anyone shooting it now, and you're likely to find they love it. Especially in the last two years, we've certainly pulled ahead of our competitors in regard to quality and innovation. Pricing in comparable to HOK products. You have a choice of picking from an entire catalog of formulas which you can buy pre-mixed, ready to spray, or you can just buy the additives and create your own formulas. I don't know that every SW store would do this, but at my store (in the Chicago area), I work with the custom painters who come in asking for something specific (in terms of a custom color), I'll work with them (and usually one of my Tech Reps) to create the exact color they're looking for. Of everyone I've sold Planet Color to, I've gotten back nothing but glowing praise and excellent results. On the truck we used a combination of Sherwin-Williams Ultra 930 & 950 clear (the 950 for appearance, the 930 was added to speed it up, since we needed to get the truck done in a certain time frame). Those are top of the line clears. I imagine if you're spending the money on Planet Color, you'd likely go that route. However, if you did want to shave some cost from the clear budget, the Refinisher Select line has some great looking clear coats (I recommend RS 6030/6040). I recommend you stop by your local Sherwin-Williams Automotive store (or your local SW jobber), and check it out. If you need help finding them, or if you want to ask me any specific question, feel free to get in touch with me. I have no problem with emailing you my phone number to help you out in any way I can. 18. Question. See that oval chrome air cleaner in your pic? What kit did that come from? I need one of those real bad. I need one to do my VP II car and I can't find one.
  19. Amen to that brother .... lol
  20. Do you want to get rid of this one too?? I'll send ya a pm.
  21. Thanks. I'll let you know if I find it. Cars looking good too.
  22. Maybe I'll get lucky at one of the bigger stores. Wonder if this will work. I want to do a knight rider Mustang. Almost have it finished. It has color shifting paint too. Some times it's metallic grey and sometimes it looks black. How about a metallic grey with a pearl black coat on top. Will that let the grey show through and give it that shifting look to it or not ??
  23. Looking good.
  24. Yeah, I checked everything they had. No color shift paint at all. I live in a smaller town. I have to go 20 min.s or so to go to Hobby Town or Hobby Lobby or go by HL where I work at in a totally different town. So I'm sure I'll have to try Murfreesboro or Franklin Lowes if I get lucky and find it then.
  25. Thanks. I have the same exact car that I have started on, but it's a Tamiya brand. I looked for that paint the other day and my Lowes does not carry it. Guess I'll have to look further.
