  1. Might as well try it. That's about the only way you will learn is by doing it. And the kits cheap enough if you screw it up.
  2. Thanks for all the pics. And yes, I would like to see pics of your build, roadhawg. That way what I am getting into. May just be over my head, but who knows, I might try it anyways.
  3. I may go ahead and pick one up. It's only 16.19 from Hobby Linc anyways. I see it has stock wheels and caps. I was hoping for a six cylinder, but I think I say one on that resin site that might work. I'll have to go back and look at them too.
  4. I think you mean Nitrous or NOS which is a brand name for the system to deliver it, not what is in the bottle. OF course they do make nitro additives for the fuel as well. I know of people that used it to mix with the fuel in some dirt track cars over the years to up the performance.
  5. I don't know. This is what Hobby Linc shows for a 50 Ford and it just looks out of proportion in the front end and fenders and stuff too me compared to the 51. But I'll try and find a link to the site mentioned and look it over. http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/rmx/rmx857203.htm
  6. Does anybody make a 51 Ford truck either plastic or resin ? I found a 50 but it's all wrong. Too big of a truck compared to a 51 so I can't convert that one.
  7. What were the three factory colors? I have one or two of those, but mine will be race cars.
  8. Looks good.
  9. The hood looks fine, it's the wheels that are wayyyy to big for it.
  10. Looks good. You put a lot of body work into it for sure. That's the part I hate. The paint and body work. I'm too picky about it and want it perfect and it rarely turns out perfect the first go around.
  11. I need one of those to make a replica of the 74 Duster I have.
  12. Sweet!! Need some bigger pics with some engine shots though.
  13. Thanks, I was checking out the site when this popped up. They have some stuff I can use. I'll have to get an order out soon. Thanks. Good looking build too. Look forward to seeing the others.
  14. I just use a tan color on mine, but mainly get the pre wired and colored ones from MAD.
  15. Thanks for the heads up on that scoop. I'll check that out. I need to find one of these bodies myself. Did you get it from Bandit too? If so, I'll have to put in a order soon.
  16. Let me know if you build that purple one. I'd love to see it. It would look good solid, but the black stripes would look good too I think. I like them better without the wing and scoop. The only scoop I liked on them was the dual snorkel one piece job. Those looked nice. I don't think anyone makes them. Wished they did. My moms Demon was solid purple with no stripes or scoops and it looked good. I had a 70 Challenger Plumb Crazy and it has white stripes and it looked good with the stripes on it too, but that's another car though.
  17. My uncle owned a Dodge dealership along with half of Marshall co. My mom got a 71 Dodge Demon from him. I can just barely remember running around the dealership when I was a kid. That car was Plumb Crazy Purple with a black interior, a 318, auto, with 8 3/4 rear axle. Wished we still had it today.
  18. and no go either .... lol
  19. I have another question. After you make a mold, how many bodies or parts can you get from it before it's junk and time for a new one.
  20. Thanks. Those first two links wont work, but the last one and the you tube links are fine. I'll check those out.
  21. I meant to ask about the stripes. That's what I figured too. Not mixed up well enough. Probably makes it weak too if it is a big piece.
  22. Thanks for the reply's. I get the feeling I am about to get in over my head. lol. Keep it coming, tell me ever thing you think I might need to know. If anyone has a link for a beginners book or dvd so I can study up on this some more that would help too.
  23. Ok, what should I look for then if I wanted to cast some good carbs and maybe a body? Or maybe a link to something that I can read up on the subject?
  24. I was thinking about trying to cast some parts and maybe one body for stuff that I use a lot of and try to save some cash that way. I found a couple kits and it just leaves me with more questions. Hobby Lobby Alumilite Mini Casting Kit sku# 579714 Price: $29.99 Alumilite Super Casting Kit sku# 580068 Price: $69.99 Can I get a descent body or small parts from one of these kits? How hard are they to use? Are they even worth messing with? Maybe other suggestions instead of these kits for a beginner in casting.
  25. Again nice build. And thanks to you and Johnny on the hood pin info.
