  1. Yea, it was close to a year ago when I got that thread going. Sorry to all of you guys that were looking forward to it. It turned into something that I had to put on the back burner for a wile. I just had to many other things going on. Then the past 4 months was spent on that "Big Job" project. Well I have some good news. Last Sunday I handed the master over to Dave Bell. The guy that mastered the "Big Job" for me. I asked him if he could take a look at this Malibu for me. It had a few issues that needed to be dealt with. So he said he would take a look at it and get back to me. Well he called the next day (Yesterday morning) and said, "Matt, I got this wagon just about 90% done." This is great. So he told me what he did to it. I know Dave so I can say right now, without looking at it yet. It will be right on. So I am going to get it back from him later this week. The "Big Job" is doing real well for me. So I think that within the next couple of weeks. I can have an order of rubber in and we will get this thing in resin. FINALLY! Also a note to matthew (Highway) and you guys that were staying up with our thread about the leaf springs. Yea, Dave will have those springs done in a few days. He also gave me the masters for the Marmon- Harrington pre 48 4wd conversion kit. So things are looking up! Thanks for your support and interest, guys Matt This is the master before I handed it to Dave.
  2. I have a couple more polls on my site. Your input has been very helpful to me. There is also a place on there to give your suggestions and Ideas that you would like to see. Thanks for all of your support, guys. Matt
  3. Thanks, Chris. For your enthusiasm on this F-8. I had builders like you in mind why I came up with the idea of buying this kit, piece by piece. That is why I did not want to make this a complete kit. We put allot of thought and time into this project. I only have one more thing to finish, and it will be finished. The front suspension. I need to make the drag link mold this weekend. Yes we have some many more items that we are coming up with for later. You will all like them. I was posting these items on the Commercial Transportation and Equipment Builders Model Club board, but surprisingly. Those guys do not seem to have much interest in this F-8 resin. I cannot believe that I am getting a bigger reaction from the model CAR community and not getting much of anything from the Model TRUCKING community. I was getting a little nervous for a little bit. Thinking that I may have wasted some precious time and money on this. But now I do not think so. These items have really started selling for me. So this makes me want to do more. Thanks for all of your input, guys. Matt
  4. Thanks Matthew For starters. I am going to talk with dave this weekend. We are getting together with our model build group this Sunday. I have a built up I bought for the wheels. Of the old Monogram F350 Duelie. I am going to give dave that and the photos from under your truck and have him knock out a set of springs that will work under that model kit. I am sure he will have the master done in a few days. I do not know when I would be getting it into rubber. I have a few other projects going on right now. But I think that we can start having a few different size leaf spring sets her soon. I know that I am about to make a pre 48 Marmmon-Harrington 4wd conversion kit (again mastered by Dave Bell) that has another nice set of springs with it. I am also working on a "Gasser" front end kit that will have some nice springs. Thanks for all of your input guys. Matt
  5. Yea,Ryan. I was thinking just that. Dave is making a set rigth now for me that will basicly replace the ones in the Chevy Titan. I had a few people e-mail me asking if I has springs that would replace the ones from that kit. I guess that those are pretty common sets of springs that are used on many big rigs. If you guys are liking this classic big rig subject. Wait till you see what we have in the works.
  6. I tell ya guys. This talk had got me doing some thinking. I told Dave tonight at our model club meeting, about this spring deal. So we got talking about doing just some different length leaf springs and over loaders and just offering them. Dave does such a nice job on these things and he loves scratch building. Making these springs are just fun to him and he would not mind making a few. So let me know some general sizes that would be nice to have and maybe we will come out with 2 or 3 different sizes in resin. What's your thoughts? Matt
  7. Thanks I have to give Dave Bell of Peoria Az. the credit for mastering these pieces. I just made the mold and cast them. He is the real talent.
  8. Thanks Tom And I will wait to hear from you, Adam. Hope I can help. Matt
  9. OK Wayne, yea, now I know who you are. Man you got on that fast!!! Looks cool. This is the first time I have seen this conversion kit in use. Keep us posted. I am looking forward to seeing this one done. Very Cool. Matt
  10. They are a 1/16th from being 2 inches long. If you are interest in just the springs. E-mail me and I will work that out with you. Matt
  11. I just listed these on my site. This means that I am all done (for now) with the 50 Ford F-8 "Big Job" resin items. Of course these can be used for any types of old Big Rigs. More Classic Heavy Truck stuff to come later. But now I think I am going to get back on the 69 Chevelle wagon. Thanks for looking Matt
  12. Hey I like it!! Just clean it up and put it in a case on your shelf. You were thinking right when you were a kid, I can see there. I might like this model allot because it reminds me of a Camaro I worked on a couple of summers ago. So I might be a little partial. LOL! Cool model you built.
  13. Yea, I seen all of your ref pics on there. You have got allot of nice stuff on there. Nice models too. Dave Bell did this master very much like how you did your fenders. Wait till you see what else I will be adding over the next few days that will go with this F-8 resin. Thanks Matt
  14. I was going to cast that but all you need to do is take the grill from the F1 kit. Cut the headlights from the grill. Then insert the headlight from the rear through the headlight holes in the resin front end. The grill mounts in through the front. It looks great. I will have a built up here in about a week. They guy that mastered this for me, Dave Bell, is building it right now. Ryan Didn't you build an F-8 and have it on your Fotki site along with a bunch of other photos for F-7 and F-8s? Be sure to check out my site with all of these parts to build an F-8. It is in the "Classic Heavy Truck" section. Matt
  15. Here is the front clip in resin. Also the bumper and a bed for the Sleeper Cab.
  16. This cab and the wide F-8 fenders are now avalable on my site in the "Classic Heavy Truck" section. The cab is also listed on the second page of the "Conversion Kits" section. Thanks for your support. Here is a pic of the master by Dave Bell, of the wide fender section. I will have a pic of the resin part on my site very soon. Matt www.denconresin.com
  17. Well here is the Sleeper Cab and floor extension for the 50 F-8 "Big Job" I do not have it on my site yet. I am waiting till the mold for the widened 50 Ford F-1 fenders is done. Should get the first one popped out tomorrow morning. Then the "Big Job" will be DONE! This cab will work nice for doing a cool street rob extended cab version of the 50 Ford F-1 from Revell. So it is not JUST for the big rig builders. This cab was mastered by Dave Bell of Peoria Az. I was so happy with how this cab turned out. I just had to post.
  18. Rich No offence here at all. I thank you for your input. I relay very much input from builder like you. I have been doing this resin casting for allot longer then you might think. If you were to look on my site. you would see that I do many items that are quite a wide range of interests. Many of the items I have been making for, well some over 10 years now. I have never nor will ever have any personal interest in. My personal interest and taste have never played a factor in what I produce and sell. That is why I was offering those grills. I stated that I did not like those cars to point out that I know nothing about them and I relay on other builders that DO like those types of cars. I need those builders to point me in the right direction. That way I can come out with useful items for many different tastes in automobiles in scale. So because of my "Lack Of Interest" in those cars. When I state something wrong. I get so beat up for it. That dilutes the useful info I need to properly produce and market the product. So when I get way to much flack for something. It is just better to not produce the item at all. As for your idea. I really am not totally sure what you are talking about, because, like I said. I personally think those cars are hideous looking. So I have not any interest or knowledge about them. That is all I am saying. Does not mean that I would not produce the item. But I also do not have any other items from the kit that those grills came from. So I cannot produce the part that you are suggesting. So at this time. With the negative input on these grills outweighing the positive. I have chosen to not product them. I just cannot see the point of making them. That has nothing to do with the fact that I do not like those cars. I am getting ready to come out with a very large group of items this coming week that I have spent about 4 months of work on and hundreds of dollars on, that I have no interest what so ever in ever building these. I also knew nothing about these items. But I have the help of someone that is very knowledgeable about these items and is helping me. So you can see that my personal taste and opinions on this subject had nothing to do with me investing and producing these upcoming items. Thanks again for your input. Matt
  19. You early big rig fans and builders would know about this Flat Head engine. It is called a Ford "Rouge" 337. It was the engine that got Ford into the Big Rig markets and was in Ford's 48-51 F-8s. It was based off of the wider Lincoln block and the heads were thicker. Couple of other differences from the standard Flathead Ford engines. Yes, this is an all new resin engine kit from DENCON Scale Resin Specialties. The kit comes with everything you see here but the Air Brake Compressor. That is a separate piece I sell. I cannot take credit for the building and detail. This was done by my friend, Dave Bell. That is the heavy duty 5 Speed on the back of that. Dave was the one that mastered this engine for me. This engine is apart of some new stuff that I am coming out with. A 50 Ford F-8 "Big Job" Commercial Big Rig in resin to be used with the Revell 50 F-1 kit as a donor. This engine kit is now on my web site.
  20. Wow, Lyle. Your stuff! Very nice work. "That 70's Bike" is a mind blower. I totaly hate those kinds of bikes, but your model is fantastic. Really enjoyed looking at it. Great work. Matt
  21. Thanks Aaron. I will look into that. I wanted it to be open to anyone. Maybe it will not allow that. You can post your opinion without logging on. Thanks Matt
  22. Hello Fellow Model Car Builders, I have, on my web site. a "DENCON Scale Resin Specialties" Information Board. On there I have some polls set up that I am taking to see if there is any interest in some of my up coming resin body kits. Please take a look and take the poll. It is a simple Yes, No. If you look, PLEASE VOTE. If you do not like the idea. Please vote NO. That is better then not voting at all. It is all anonymous voting. I get allot of people looking and not voting and this does not help me at all. You do not have to sign up or join anything. I just need the input. Model Builders, like you, are a big part of DENCON putting out the product that we do. Most everything that DENCON does is from suggestions from the Model Car Building Community. Thanks for your Time and Input. Matt www.denconresin.com
  23. Nice model. You caught the look of that car in scale real nice! I am working on the same car (Well started it about 6 or 7 years ago or whenever the 71 Duster first came out)What is the number of that decal sheet from slixx. I got one but It ended up being the wrong one. The lettering for the Duster is all in silver leaf. I need the gold like yours. Nice work. I have a great dvd with this car in it. There is a inside shot of the car from the rear seat area with Ronnie driving it. Good shot of the dash. Nice Job Matt
