  1. Sorry guys Larry. I just do not know a THING about early 60s Pontiac, nor do I have a bit of interest in those ugly cars. I have been depending on others on info, and that is the problem. I get so many different stories about these grills to the point that I am going to discontinue them. I have some guy say that they work with the "WHATEVER" 62 Pontiac kit that just came back out, and some guys tell me that they are totally different cars. So what happened is I made this mold for someone years ago when that 62 Pontiac "WHATEVER" first came out. Because they wanted them for that kit. So I assumed that person knew what they were talking about. I do not know the difference between the Bonneville or the Catalina and not trying to offend anyone. But my personal opinion, I just do not care. I hate those cars. So Larry, Thanks for your info on these cars and offering your help. I do appreciate it. But I have had just too many other guys, and not on this board, this time on this subject. So I am not annoyed by you or Ed. You guys are and have always been great guys to me. But I sometimes get sick of these guys that have e-mailed me and on other boards that never say anything good or productive for me. The just say something about these grills and give me conflicting (in my simple mind LOL)info on these 62 Pontiac "WHATEVERS". Then just to show off how huge their brain is by cutting me down about these items. Not to help me or be constructive like you guys were on this thread. I have not sold a set. So just to stop the confusion. I am discontinuing these. If anyone wants a set. I will sell them. But I am not offering them anymore on my site. Thanks again for your helpful info. Hope you understand and did not get offended by this. I did not mean it towards you two at all. Matt
  2. Man.......that is ..........well just inspiring. That is an amazing model.
  3. I don't even like the quoting of pics, and I have DSL. When ever I quote a post that has pics in it. I remove the pic's URL from the quote before I post. That way the words from that post are quoted in my reply, but not the pics. It takes a short amount of time and I make that apart of the time that everyone should take in the proof reading of your post. Along with spell checking before you hit the "Add Reply" button. That way you do not end up looking like a kamikaze thread poster/replier. BTW the spell check does not work for me on this message board and a few others. So I cut and paste what I just wrote. Go to my e-mails. Check it there and do my corrections. Then cut and paste again and put it back here. I don not mind the time it takes to do all of that because I want everyone to understand what I am writing. Plus, I do not look like I quit school after the 7th grade. You can tell that I waited till I got half way through the 10th grade before I quit! Sorry for going a little off subject but I think it all goes hand in hand with what we are talking about here. Matt
  4. Nice Model. that has always been one of my favorite race cars. I remember that car from when I was a kid. I have never seen this model built with this much detail. nice work. Nice job on getting the front wheels to work. You even got all of the different angles those front tires would be in a turn. That was such a funky set up. Matt
  5. Man, this is a great thread. So I figured that I would run up to my room and take a shot of some of my stash. I do not let to many look these days. Use to back in the days of having a model club meeting back when I use to be in a club. I hated everyone telling me that I had to much and I should sell them my kits because after all, they would say, "Your never gonna build them all!" LOL!! Maybe, Maybe not. But the fact is. THEY ARE MINE!!! HA HA HA!!! Anyways. I am NOT a kit collector. Every one of these kits were bought to build except two. The two Grumpy's Toys. They were "Holy Grails" that I just always wanted because I am such a huge Jenkins fan. The rest. I will build them when I want to. Over the past few years, there have already been a few rare ones come down and get built that are not up there anymore. I just got this one a few weeks ago. I know that it has just been re released. but this box art ROCKS!!! I am Italian so I just love the box. It was given to me by a member of my model building group. I had said I wanted to build one of these, but I did not want all of the reissued kit with the tin. So he came to the build session one day with this and said that I could have it. He had it for years, and he knew that I would build it. I will build it, too. Not one of these kits are for sale, so don't ask!

WOW that is a nice model. Great job!!!
  7. No, those come from the Revell 88 Bob Glidden Pro Stock T-Bird. Here are the wheels from that vette kit your thinking about. But it is not that MPC Flip nose. AMT came out with another 50 somthing vette that was more of a street machine and all new tooling. It was green on the box. That had these wheels and a few other really cool goodies. A very overlooked kit because everyone thought it was just a rebox of that nasty Flip nose Vette.
  8. Mine is not finished yet. I got a little frustrated with it a few months ago and put it away. My model car buds keep telling me to bust it back out and finish it. Maybe I should. Matt
  9. Who's all going?! I am . I will have a table there. You will see my DENCON Scale Resin Specialties sign. Come over and say "HI". Matt
  10. Yes I am wanting to do all of those. I just need to get my hands of good masters. I am going to a model show this weekend in riverside california. The Citrus Nationals. http://www.wix.com/CitrusNationals/Home-Page I am going to be looking for those kits. Matt
  11. This would not really be a conversion kit, but it is a good start. To help you turn the new AMT re issue of the 62 Pontiac Bonneville into a Grand Prix. These pieces were taken from a vintage kit and unaltered. So they are not a direct fit. But they are very easily fix to do so. This item is listed on the "Parts" page of the DENCON Scale Resin Specialties web site.
  12. Thanks guys. this was a very fun build. I was surprised. Sometimes we need to get the Challenges put on us to get some fun back into building. especially what it is a subject and a kit that is way out of your element. Matt

Very Nice. Great job on the flip nose. Matt
  14. A few months ago. My model club at my local hobby shop had a build off challenge. Because it is an EVERYTHING model club. The military guys won out for this one. Good thing that the subject was this Opel Blitz kit. Well I was going to go all "civilian" on them. I could not built it military. I figured that there were going to be plenty of them on the table for that meeting. So I went with this. I pretty much built it out of the box. but I shortened the frame and scratch built the fifth wheel. The decal on the door I made. I named the trucking company after my friends hobby shop but it is in German. It translates to: "Hobby Headquarters Transport". Matt
  15. Yea, that is the shirt I got. I got it for $5.00 from a vendor at the last Nostalgia Nitro funny Car race at Firebird International. It was quite the score not only because it was 5 bucks. But I am a big guy and it was just my size. That Slixx sheet not only has the "RatPack" lettering. It has the "Booth Aarons" and the car numbers for the glass. Do you have a recommendation for the green to paint the 70? Matt
  16. That is a very nice looking model. something you do not see at the shows. You nailed the "Different" and the "Gottchya" factors. Nice work. I have seen the duel distributor set up both ways many times.
  17. I could not find one on Missing Link's site. I know of Fred's but I was looking for a stock 77. Thanks Matt
  18. ...a Plymouth Volare'?
  19. Beautiful model. Nice work.
  20. Thanks Frank. Mark Dave made me a master of tanks just like that. I will have them and two other sizes of cylinder tanks out very soon under my "Classic Heavy Truck" line. Matt
  21. Troy Those are some beautiful restorations. I think I have seen that first one before. I just found a cool t-shirt of that car and the Super Stock at the nitro drags at Firebird International Raceway last fall. Here is a link to that slixx sheet I was talking about. The sheets look allot better for real them on the slixx site. But I am sure that do that so the artwork cannot be copied well. http://www.slixx.com/1934.htm?id=2665 Matt
  22. Troy Outstanding post. I am a big fan of Grump and 8 is my favorite. also being the owner of a 1:1 71 Camaro. I really like these models. Thanks for sharing. Does your dad still build? His work is very impressive. In a big way because what he did with what he DID NOT have in the hobby. Things that we all get to enjoy. I thought those were all decals until I read. I have also loved that Wally Booth's Rat Packer 70 Camaro. I had started to build another Grumpy's Toy 8 a few years ago with the Baldwin Motion 70. But then I started seeing a ton of Toy 8s that got built. So I switch gears and am going to go the "Rat Pack" way with it. I found the decals for the car scattered on a few of Slixx sponsor sheets. So what they heck. Glad to have you on board. So what "Real" car has taken you away from model for 10 years? Matt
  23. Yea, I should have it out by the end of next week. It will be cool to use on just the pick up. I have coming with the cab. I piece that fits right on the kit floor board to extend the floor and it looks factory. Very easy to use. You will just have to stretch the frame. Thanks for your interest, Dave. Matt
