  1. The JoHan kits of those days were VERY good for body detail and accuracy..That can't be said for the chassis or interiors, but the dash boards/steering wheels were very well done..Wish someone would re-release them....If they could be found..The body detail and engraving was the best and is better than most today..Only my opinion but I think most people will agree...
  2. Why don't we see you at the NNL North? Maybe you've been and we haven't run across each other..I'am with the other guys from Winnipeg with the black Winnipeg Model Car Club shirts..Enough about that..Very nicely done model of a rare kit...Very clean and bring back many memories...
  3. If John Teresi is building those 56 Fords, they will be fabulous..He does fantastic stuff...
  4. Unclescott58 the mate to La Femme was the TEXAN The mans answer. I almost bought on during Mopars in the Park 92 in Shakopee Mn..
  5. I remember those 10cent pactra bottles..I used 4 insignia red to paint my first model...A 1958 Edsel convertible..Everything was red except the bumpers and w/shield..Many memories from this thread...
  6. I remember we got our first car in 1958..My dad never drove and my mother took her driving lessons on a 57 Chev 210 4 dr ht..Mom and dad bought a 58 Plymouth Savoy 4 dr sedan..Black/white with red/black interior..One of our neighbors had two cars, he leased(fairly new then) for his company..Everett's had two 58 Pontiacs..A Pariesienne 2 dr ht for him and a Strato Chief wagon for the mrs..I remember this like it was yesterday...
  7. Sounds and looks like your shop does some fantastic work on all types of vehicles...Sure nice to see stuff done up right although my right is being done to original from the factory type of resto...Its nice to see good clean workmanship and quality in the finished product...
  8. Welcome to the forum Gordon..You didn't happen to live in St.Vital when you went to grade school did you? Was your father in the military and did you live on 57 Humboldt in St.Vital in Winnipeg..I went to school with a Gordon Enquist till grade six..It could be you...You might be my age....I'am 67 yrs old...
  9. While your talking Checkers and other commercial vehicles there is a square ugly looking(looks Russian or Checkaslovian) type of vehicle they use for wheelchair transport..There are about 4 or 5 in Winnipeg but could never get close enough to see the name..I think it starts with an A...Anyone heard or maybe know what kind of car I'am talking about..It could also be made in Pakastan because all the drivers I have seen driving them are from there...
  10. Nice looking Olds..Never was a fan of the red under hood fenders but thats the way it was..Sure diggin' that last family picture...That Road Runner and Charger are sure looking sharp..
  11. The bench could have the seat portion as one piece and the backs as separate pieces with a fold down center arm rest..Split bench seat...
  12. Looks good and cleanly built, even though I don't have a clue what it is..I do know it is a car but thats all...Very nicely done...
  13. That 63 Plymouth convertible is a rare piece as is the 61 Pontiac Bubble top..You got some nice uglies...
  14. Had the same with the two I bought...Called Lindberg at that time and they shipped out two replacements within 2 weeks..Can't do it now though as they are owned by someone else...
  15. My 62 Chev Bel-Air built box stock about 10 years ago..GM Autum Gold
  16. Going to try to post a picture of my 71 GTX..
  17. Because the molds (bucks) are not done by hand and the Chinese manufacturers use computers etc that don't cut finely like it was done in the olden days...
  18. Just to ask about what you guys have posted..I've never seen a Tesla..What does it look like and is it only electric? How far does it go on a charge and is there any kind of motor in it to charge the batteries as you drive? Distance till empty charge, how far? Pictures please front, rear 3/4 side etc. and how much for this car?
  19. Very nice show you went to..Don't see those vehicles everyday here in NA..Shell has the best juice for a V8..Use their highest octane you can get..Thats what I use in my 64 Fury....Costs more but runs better...
  20. I always thought the Charger should have been a two door..Unfortunately two doors now a days don't sell..Maybe they should have named the four door another name..They have refined it to where it now looks mean and nasty and fast..Sure makes for a good police package....
  21. I'am with robs4516..Not big on the wheels and rubber band tires.. I know it isn't the look for pro-touring but can't beat steelies with big rubber...
  22. All round EXCELLENT build...Color/stance and every thing is right on..Very very clean build..Well done...
  23. Very well done..I never find garage/yard sale models..A friend of mine who built models with me in school died a few years ago..His wife had a sale but no deals..Unbuilt newer stuff was $20.00..Some of his builds I wanted but not at $100.00 a pop..Sorry Tom....
  24. Original 1962 Chev BelAir from AMT, the one with the blue car on the box..Very nice kit and well done..One exception, glueing in glass..Sure miss the runners or little holes to fit over small pins...
  25. I didn't get nothing today or yesterday..Got maybe a sunburn on my head driving my convertible out of town about 50 miles..(64 Fury Convertible) Just want to say this topic is one I look forward to every day..Its nice to see some obscure kits I've never seen and some things people can find at garage/flee markets..Enjoy this topic very much..Please keep it going....
